You guys! It is here. We did it. We got on a plane and flew a long time and shot a bunch of episodes in Rome!! Tune in next week (and the week after that and the week after that) for lots of delicious Italian food and like and comment and subscribe and keep up those fan letters and sending me that weird tribute art -- I LOVE IT! See you next week!!
Lucas Peterson you the best part of the channel. The meat guy was a total douche and those zany sausage dudes are trying to hard. The real king of eater.
The pizza at Forno Campo de' Fiori haunts my dreams since 2013, when I first had a taste of its perfection. It was one of the main reason I visited again last march. Such a great first spot for this serie!
Wow! I had a great time in Rome back in the 80s. The food including the atmosphere was totally a life-changing experience. Planning to revisit Italy again next year and definitely will stop here for some great pizza.
Lucas, I don't know how you've done it, but you've translated your warm, knowledgeable style to a global stage. So happy for you. Can't wait for more episodes of DoD
Best Pizza I have ever had, from a food truck, parked outside the Vatican. Looked exactly like the folded over type he’s eating. It was so good, we changed our itinerary around to visit the Vatican again, the next day. I have never regretted missing the Colosseum one day in my life.
I have been to Rome over a dozen times and lived and travelled Italy extensively, I can assure you that America has plenty of pizza that could rival Italy. Lucali’s and John’s on bleeker would blow the owner’s mind and that is just off the top of my head.
When I was in Rome I thought the Italian food sucked. After getting backed to Canada I was lucky enough to go to a wedding catered by the Italian Club ladies auxiliary and it was so good..
There is a German guy that speaks English sitting next to Lucas behind a truck in Rome that created a brief conversation that resulted in a more connection of the video and the audience. How convenient.
Honestly, he just decided to sit down on the truck when we started shooting and hung out for a bit. He was just a chill dude enjoying some pizza with us.
in europe, more than half the people speak multiple languages. I wish more people spoke multiple languages, it changes how you think and see the world.
One of Rome's best dish is la Pajata, calf intestines with the chyme left inside. It's often served with Rigatoni and a rich tomato sauce. Will Lucas have a chance to try this exceptional dish?
I think, that's the place, where I had pizza, when i was in Rome the first time. I was there with my schoolmates, so it' s hard to remember. But it was so damn good. I do know, where the very tasty ice cream place was, just next to the Trevi fountain, but hte pizza place was just in a random street. couldn't find it, when I went again.
I like how Lucas went to Rome and had a weird fried rice ball stuffed with tomatoes and mozzarella that has never been seen in America and he was like "you know what youtube needs? another pizza video"
It's a perfectly normal fried rice ball stuffed with tomatoes and mozzarella, and I can assure you that it has certainly been seen in America; it's not that strange, at least not in NYC. Suppli and Arancini both are extant around the Northeast, at least.
Wait..."I'm a little scared"? Of what? Going to Rome and eating awesome food. Seriously? This is scary to you? "AH......pasta al forno!" *runs in terror*
Rome was and will always be a pinnacle of multicultural excellence. Rome was where African explorers first taught the people of the region law. Famous philosophers of Rome ie Cicero, Marcus Aurelius were students of African and middle eastern teachers. Not to forget that Italian cuisine is rooted to north African traders in the 600's.
@eater I love your content. 100%. But technically, it seems someone forgot to set the White Balance on the camera or is using the wrong color temp....it hurts my eyes
The idea of piling 700+ toppings is the usual American approach of: More is always better. Well, just like the recent money printing, more is not better.
Ok. I need to try this. Loved the guy casually seating next to you Lucas. For whatever reason I find this very fun.
Why do I feel german guy was like... man, wish he would share some of these different ones with me
Lucas: I don’t speak the language
*proceeds to speak the language*
roentgen6 he is opposite of those who says they speak a zillion languages on resumes and only say a word or two.
Wasn't Lucas in the CIA?
roentgen6 I meannnnn... I learned a little through my duolingo!! :D
Nah, you are a low-key polyglot and we all wish we had your skills. Me, I can barely speak my native English goodly.
For a starter, his Italian is very admirable.
This dude speaks every language
Coming up next on Dining on a Dime International: Lucas can speak Wakandan?!

Lucus we've missed you. Good to see you! Cheers!
Lucas Peterson you the best part of the channel. The meat guy was a total douche and those zany sausage dudes are trying to hard. The real king of eater.
I am now going to make you some fan art.
Lucas Peterson never stop!
You gonna be in season 2 of West world?
Very glad you are back with us Lucas.
DOD is one of the most effortlessly enjoyable things on UA-cam!
Cameron Wick thanks man!

This is the best cooking show anyone has ever seen. Delightful

Love Roman bread pizza... the crust is delicious. Good to see Lucas back and out there travelling to interesting spots again.
It has been five years since I went to Forno Campo de’ Fiori. Great memories. Excellent start to the Rome series. 👍

Conrad was so chill, I dug that casual little interaction.
Best Roman pizza I've ever had! So glad you went!
I need to see Lucas everywhere all around the world. This man is a very good host!
I have been to Rome over a dozen times and lived and travelled Italy extensively, I can assure you that America has plenty of pizza that could rival Italy.
Lucali’s and John’s on bleeker would blow the owner’s mind and that is just off the top of my head.
Haha the lady is the beginning is such a typical nice Italian grandma
Lucas, just want to let you know that we're all really happy that you're back
I loved both types of pizza while I lived in Italy. I loved their potato pizza
I've been to this plaza and I missed this pizza place! Love roman style pizza and this video brought back memories. Great start to the new season!
I have a feeling Lucas can speak Klingon
Afdal H. 😂
Next season, on Dining on a Dime...
I have a feeling he speaks Dothraki
Afdal H. qatlho' jupwI' legh :D
Lucas Peterson Sounds legit!😂
Lucas: orders 3 types of pizza
Lucas, but ten minutes later: eats *four* types of pizza, none of which he ordered
This is the true #Pizzagate

Lucas Peterson you made my day!
When I was in Rome I thought the Italian food sucked. After getting backed to Canada I was lucky enough to go to a wedding catered by the Italian Club ladies auxiliary and it was so good..
Sometimes, simple is the best. It works so well.

in europe, more than half the people speak multiple languages. I wish more people spoke multiple languages, it changes how you think and see the world.
Lucas Peterson I needed you to talk to him a little more. Lucas and the German guy dining on a dime! He looked like he was yearning for conversation.

The Palazzo Farnese on his left (our right). In fact he is standing in the Piazza Farnese, just 1.5 blocks from Camp de' Fiori.
I'm italian and I kept reading the subtitles cos I'm just not used to hearing italian here lol
One of Rome's best dish is la Pajata, calf intestines with the chyme left inside. It's often served with Rigatoni and a rich tomato sauce. Will Lucas have a chance to try this exceptional dish?
finally some lucas action. im getting kinda worried that the channel became some kind of korean channel lol . keep it up lucas ☝
Lucas is like a capybara. Everywhere he goes, anyone he meets, he is able to befriend them.
Anyone know the song at 4:10?
Man Eater is getting better than Munchies from Vice.
my favorite of all Italian snacks was focaccia, has it's benefits over regular pizza
God I miss eating pizza in the morning, before going to.school, un giorno tornerò

I clicked on this so fast you have no idea!!! Lucas!! :D
Looked amazing!
Are you coming back for West World season 2?
May I please request the name of that song starting at 4:10
Edit: Found it!
For those wondering the same, the song is Siamese Sea by Molife
I like how Lucas went to Rome and had a weird fried rice ball stuffed with tomatoes and mozzarella that has never been seen in America and he was like "you know what youtube needs? another pizza video"
Too many pizza videos ain't enough pizza videos

Welcome back Lucas!!!!!!

Wait..."I'm a little scared"? Of what? Going to Rome and eating awesome food. Seriously? This is scary to you? "AH......pasta al forno!" *runs in terror*
Love how you describe flavors; I can get a really good idea of what the flavors are like.

Treacherous to what, the Roman Republic?
@eater I love your content. 100%. But technically, it seems someone forgot to set the White Balance on the camera or is using the wrong color temp....it hurts my eyes
So jealous... Next time, try the potato (truly unique) and I also love onion. Che buona...

What is that groovy song in the sound track
"Pizza, pizza...!" 😁😅
Hi Hello friend 00940776086682
I just imagine Conan pretending to talk to him in Italian lol
If you’re used to pizza with tomato sauce, these slices will taste like flat bread with seasoning
finally!
you're the cute one Lucas 😍😙
Hey it's that guy from Westworld!
Go to La Boccaccia and La Renella in Trastevere for the best pizza in the city
