That's a fair criticism, and thank you for pointing that out. I didn't talk about the fact that you have to finish the questline to get the deck. The point I should have made is that the hassle is worth it, b/c the deck is so useful. In the meantime, the bank's core deck has card destruction cards, and when those come up in the tavern, they're far more important than they might seem. Any chance to you get to cull cards will be to your advantage. Sorry for the delay; was extended afk for the holiday.
Been loving your vids so far! This is another great one and I can personally vouch for how important Deck Culling and forcing your opponent to clear trash cards are strategy wise. I didn't hear you say it in the video, but it can be a good idea to leave your coins unspent. Sometimes the only cards to buy / patron actions to take would weaken your overall position. There's nothing worse than spending a few coins to clear trash cards only to reveal a powerful card for your opponent to buy on their next turn.
Thank you! I appreciate the compliment. The Premiere Pro learning curve is a little brutal, but I'm finally getting the hang of it. Or... less painful, at least. :D Thanks for adding the card tips, too! That's in the script somewhere, but I was concerned it got buried under another point, and clearly it did, so I'm glad you clarified all that. I was hoping more experienced players would add things in the comments.
I’ve been going through your older videos since I just discovered you recently (in last month or so) and this is so perfect, especially during the Legacy of the Bretons event where ToT gives double drops. Thanks a ton for the insights. I always felt the Red Eagle deck was powerful but now I know exactly why and how to optimize it to beat the NPCs quickly.
Wow. Someone else is actually still playing ToT. I’m happy I found you! I went hard into it when it first dropped, stopped playing it after a year, and am only now getting reacquainted with the game. There are so many new decks the game feels completely different, and much more complex. I’m really liking it. ToT is keeping me away from my other daily activities in ESO. But I’m having a lot of fun. Take care.
Thanks-- I'm happy you're here; welcome! :) I also went super hard into ToT at first and have backed off somewhat. Haven't played the new decks much, but like you I'm really enjoying the new gameplay when I grab a game.
The resolution on the images and video is very high and nice!! You must have a very powerful pc. I never learned how to play ToT, so I'll leave comments about the video to those who have.
Nice! I think I might just buy a gaming system my next go round. From the looks of the picture quality on your video they can't be beat. Have a good one and wishing you much success on your channel! @@Tamriel_Tidbits
I'm sure the information you shared was useful to those who have an grasp of the basics of the game. I'm not one of them. I guess I'll watch the in game tutorial again since it has been since this card game came out when I last saw it. :) (between then and now, I've only played a handful of time.)
Yeah, that's fair - it isn't a from-scratch guide, it's more intermediate. You might do a search on UA-cam, I think several good ones were uploaded when the game was new. Sorry about the misdirect, I didn't understand where you were.
This is so helpful! I lost so many matches in ToT that I learned how to play the necessary to at least get the purple bag from the daily lol. I'm after that Inkwood Box lead for the Glyphic Secrets music box. My combo is to use the red deck and the hlaalu one, building prestige and coins from the bank until I am near 30 of prestige, then using the crow patron to surprise the npc and grab my easy win haha. I'm laughing now, but I've beat my head many times before discovering this xD
It takes a while to figure out what works for you - it's a really complex game with a lot of options. I started binge-playing when it was on the PTS, so I beat my head against the wall over there. :)
I’ve only really just started ToT and I’m having a lot of difficulty beating players in ranked matches, i have no issues with the novice npc’s but struggle with the proficient npc. Especially when the Mora deck is being used. Thank you for the advice, hopefully helps me.
I've got that on my list, but don't know if I'll be able to squeeze it in w/the lore videos I want to do, and tbh, the Tribute videos never do well for me, so I don't know that I'll be able to prioritize it. Here's the short version: With both Mora and Alessia, you can't let your opponent get too many suited cards, b/c the combos are hellish. Try countering w/the Druid deck, to remove cards from the tavern. Rahjin is also helpful, if you can reduce their Prestige total or remove agents.
@@charliecordes3532 Rahjin, primarily. Alma's agents are the problem; you need a way to one-shot them. But... Alessia would work, too, if you can keep control of it. That's a lot to stay on top of, tho.
Thanks so much for this, I still find the game quite confusing and only seem to win by brute forcing patrons or sheer blind luck :-) So this is very helpful!
Started ToT a few weeks ago and for the life of me couldnt win even against the novice NPC's until today after watching this video and putting into practise as much as I could!
Wait, base EIGHT decks? I just started ToT yesterday and I only have four decks. Where do I get the additional four decks? 🤔 Also, GREAT video. I'll be watching it multiple times to absorb it all!
Hm. You're right; that's technically incorrect - my apologies. I meant the 8 originally released w/High Isle, but only 4 of those are "base". Look in your achievements (High Isle, Tales of Tribute menu) for how to unlock the other 4.
@@Tamriel_Tidbits Ahhhhh, I get it. Yeah, I just looked up what you have to do to get the extra decks. This is gonna be a bit of a grind! On the positive side, though, I've gone from losing most of my novice NPC matches to winning almost all of them. Thanks for the help! 😁
I have used that counter, but I hate the Sea Elf deck so much that I'll do almost anything first, including forfeiting games when NPCs choose it. But if both decks are in play that can absolutely be a solid strategy.
The degree to witch Rahjin slow games annoys me. Remember one multiplayer game where I was killing my opponent by inches, but it took super long and only ended when they conceded.
I know what you mean - I very much prefer slow games (gives me more time to counter), but even I hate winning that way. Tough crawl. I don't like to play w/Rahjin for that reason, but it remains the best counter I've found to the high-power decks like Pelin and Mora.
LOL Sorry, you'll have to answer that on your own. But... that's a good thing, yes? (I'm happy to put bounce in your step, but I find the Jester walk pretty creepy, so... mixed bag of feels.)
So your first tip for people learning the game is to use a deck that you can’t unlock until you’ve been playing for months? Perfect

Combos in the Mora deck are brutal; using the Druid deck and removing Mora cards from the tavern as they come up can be helpful. Good luck!
I'd love if you made a video about the remaining newer decks! They're difficult to figure out, and especially different to counter.

I went 3-0 in ranked and thought i figured it out, now I'm like 5-20
Besides that one patron and the ragpicker, which I don’t see in every game, how do you destroy cards?
Right now that's it, tho a future deck might offer other options, o/c.

A good counter to a Rahjiin patron spammer is the Orgnum patron. Might help to turn a couple into writ of coins to have enough gold gor those too.
Basically your opponnent buffs you by bloating your deck eith cards, which boosts the return from the orgnum patron
