For someone who is still struggling with the family issue at 4:15, to family box called 'GEN_SEED', create a generic model extrusion box. important part is, you also have to put parameters when you are creating box and furthermore, make sure you put the reference plain in each side and provide an EQ value, than attach the box and give the parameter value.
Henriks Boshofs, equation below should be pinned, Thanks for showing us the rough process in this tutorial, just to make people aware, there is a good few bits which are skipped so you need to figure some things out. Main things that are skipped/unclear are the ' seed box' , which you will need to make, and also the section of the tutorial when the panel is made including the equation is all wrong, but if you just pay attention to what he is trying to do, along with Henrik equation you should figure it out. Also, the structure of the wall panel is... seed box family.. into curtain wall panel family.. into curtain wall. Hope this helps
Could you show how to do this but vertically? i can't get my family to behave. If you apply this technique on the vertical plane the arrays keep getting staggered, over constrained,
At 9:25 when you move the element you had locked, you don´t get any error, but when I try to move it, "constraints are not satisfied" error pops up in my revit. Why don´t you get that error?
Hi I see comments from one year ago, but im having the same problem on minute 4:15 because I cant load a project when we didnt even have more then what its open in there. can someone explain how can i do that ?

The Curtain Panel Family you need to select it from the Curtain wall 'Edit Type' properties. there you select the family that you just brought in. Did you try that?
Can anybody ansver me on why when I try to make my hight of the arrayfamily equal to the height of the curtainwall panel, I get a warning wich I cant ignore. Its about all to host elements in the family?
Hi I am halfway this tutorial, and i have a problem, when I click on a family within a family I dont get the H L W dimensions that made in it. So Its impossible to link the parameters to the parameters of the family its in. It simply doesnt show these parameters in the properties as its showing on your screen. Is this because i have a different version? Im using 2018. Do I need to enable importing parameters somewhere?
If I understand correctly it's because you need to make the parameters "instance parameters" in the first family, then load the family into the second family and you will get the H L W parameters in the instance properties with the little button to reassign the parameter. let me know if this was the issue you were having or if you need more help
That is not the case, i made sure i checked the instance parameter box just like in the video but none of the parameters appeared in the host family. So i really wonder what the problem could be then, is there maybe an alternative way that i can work around it?

you are bit to fast - ypu know revit in a wow way but well if you are doing tutorial you should slow down and talk bit more why you are doing something. btw. great work :)

yeap ypu are just jumping, jumping with this parameters its hard to folow. I am not sure which you selecting, ect.
