The reason that people associate this song with ancient rome is because there is a channel called “historia civilis” which mainly covers roman history, and his outro is this song.
HC only briefly spoke about the Empire, his primary focus has always been the Republic.

Oh it's so agonizing, isn't it. The narration starts to focus on one single point and I'm biting my nails, and I can hear the music fading for the title music and I'm just hoping this isn't the end. And then this mf leaves me on a cliffhanger, which, by the way, is something already happened in the history, and I could even look it up, but I don't want to.

Wolf Heg It was a second time I hit something popular outside the music scene. The first one was a tune used in some Polish TV show or something. So Historia Civilis is much more relatable. I'm quite glad I found it that way :)
