tbh, I've stopped playing because the solo experience is terrible. An overly team game where you'll hit a skill ceiling just isn't that fun.
so crazy in love with this game... all I really want is a new map every couple updates, even a map rotation if it's required. I think we need to look to the future positively, imagine what this game is GOING to be.

The game is still young, and its super apparent how passionate and dedicated Embark is to making this game great! The gameplay is so fresh and exciting and I cant wait to see what they continue to come up with. I love this game!! 🙌❤️

i never played the game but as a kid i would always listen to the theme song for some reason, it took me back hearing this in the video
Loved hearing Short Change in the background! Been a big fan of E-Z Rollers ever since I first heard that awesome theme all the way back in GTA 2.
I personally hate defibs, nukes, the ranking system and the fact that most guns have bloom or are not shooting straight, other than that the finals is top tier and probably the best fps right now, the problem is there’s nothing to grind, tournament/rank is broken, no cool free skins, no worthwhile unlockables, no weapon customization except for a different boring colour and charms that get in the way of your already shitty iron sights
It's sad that we live in a time where a videogame BEING FUN isn't enough, apparently. Haven't had this much fun playing online since BF3 came out, back then people didn't care that much about content creators or flashy skins, those were just bonuses for an already cool game. I hope that The Finals grows bigger and better for many years.

how did the finals improve when they got rid of aim assists? they nerfed every controller player so that the streamers would stop whining
@@TsukiRaiki Quite a lot. You don't die instantly anymore unless heavily setup. Also they finally adressed recon senses bs. It's been a really funny patch to play.
@@TsukiRaiki I agree that it's kinda screwed up to nerf an entire accessibility feature because of people who were using other programs to specifically **exploit** it. My gf's setup currently doesn't permit a traditional MKB, so she was using controller and doing really well! Now it's a lot harder for her to do much else other than support :/

just gotta let it sit for a minute man. ive been playing this game nearly every day or every chance i get since launch and its still my favorite game. it has crazy potential. most definitely not already dead when theres so much more living and future ahead of it.
this game is legit the only game since OW that made me have fun. Gaming industry has been filled with absolute dogshit with couple gems very rarely. Finals is one of those gems.

@@NotMadaraaa makes no difference , everyone is comparing this game to battleroyals or giants which is completely wrong and it's been 3 month (or less) , this is a multiplayer shooter with good replayability , it's gonna get better as time goes on , the down trend of the initial hype is normal , then it goes to people's library of playing once in a while like CS ,BF,TF,etc . that's it . simple concept really IMO .
Not having all that bullshit loot and attachments is what makes the finals good and different. We all have the same gea, skill and IQ are what make the difference.

averaging 40k players a couple months after release without a big seasonal update isn't too bad. once the game gets a lot more content in season 2 there should be some more hype

I've been keeping an eye on the player base for weeks, hoping for a bounce back, but it's been a no-show. I didn't play for several weeks because my game wouldn't launch. Just got it fixed yesterday so I'll be pumping those numbers back up soon.
In my case I loved the game, I loved it! but after years without a powerful PC the game came to me at a time where I have so many games to try, and without friends to play it I didn't last long in the game ^^'

This game is top! I love it. I don't see it dying - its really compelling and addictive gameplay. What it really needs are new maps, new gadgets etc.

I dont think it will die, this game is already doing more right off the bat compared to games like overwatch in recent years. It has good cosmetics and having played league of legends for years now, I know how well cosmetics can keep u coming back to a game after that initial hook. That said cosmetics alone arent enough. They have multiple fast game modes, visually bold, nice gunplay with longer ttk (which many prefer over already low ttk games like cs or valorant). The premise of stealing and cashing out money and less reliance on abilities (unlike overwatch). They do need to release more maps tho. I think the maps already included in the game are some of THE best level designing work I have seen in a game of this genre.

All fps games slowly lose players before large content drops.
But the combined effects of destructible environments making every match different and their mix of soft and planned hard content drops are a positive outlook on how popular they will be. The Finals isn't going anywhere, but the overall gaming market today will favour a big portion of gamers, temporarily stop FPS games to play experiences like Palworld with their friends.

It's sad that such a good game like the finals depends so much on casual players (as any game do, actually). The game is competitive and fun asf at the same time. But I understand that the solo experience in tournament/ranked mode it's really bad, that is a big problem on this game. I really hope the game succeed with time

Im still grinding ranked strong (3rd gamemode you kinda ignored, similar concept but plays wayy different)
Also I actually never feel burned out from playing too much...
Also the downtime is when going from a to b and planning / respawning / defending etc.

@ESCalation : I can appreciate what you said about the game not having any "downtime" and making it hard to be a good streaming game. But, I think that's also an important factor that shows the difference between average, run-of-the-mill streamers, and GREAT streamers. I'll use the only streamer I care about as an example: Dr. Disrespect. He doesn't game non-stop for his entire stream. He takes breaks and views videos of other games, reads tweets, plays other games like WRDLE, does goofy sketches with his imaginary studio assistant Alex. These are just some of the reasons why (IMO), he's the best streamer out there....because he's entertaining. Not because of his gameplay.

The crazy thing is, we are comparing well established games far within their seasons while this game is still in the first season and is still finding its place just like Apex had to do and didn't until about season 5
Season 3, 5 was one of the worst seasons for the game.

The devs are not addressing every issue put out to them. I am one of the many users who still face the "download failed" error which started 3 months ago in the beta version. Tried every way in the book . I contacted the devs and they suggested waiting for the next update. The next update did not help me in any way. Some users got lucky in the latest update and can play now. I would appreciate if someone can help me and a helluva lot of other users get out of this situation.
I would play the finals more I just kinda wish there was more weapons and gadgets to play around with I know it’s new but I would still like that though

Sure it’s highly reliant on team play, you know what other game is? Rainbow six siege. Might not have the HUGEST player base but it’s stayed around this long, without even innovating in its game modes.
Now, if The finals introduces maybe a rotational game mode of game modes, then there is the variety.
If it gets Collabs from brands and celebs, there’s it’s uniqueness and cool factor.
If it introduces a permanent solo mode, now it appeals to none team players.
Balancing they are already working on as we’ve seen.
Cosmetics and unlockable cosmetics thru events is vast. Announcer/voice packs, character skins, weapon skins, maybe different body models like variations of heavy, bodybuilder, sumo..
I don’t know man I feel this game CAN absolutely stand the test of time, just not to a mass appeal because of its difficulty and overall identity as a team based, team goal shooter.

@@spidersav The devs aren't gunna be what kills the game.. it's the shady publisher. and their reaction to all the people who are already saying "DEAD GAME??" They've shown in the past that they don't have a problem with canning a game if it doesn't seem like it's financially viable. That conclusion can unfortunately sometimes be misconstrued from the boisterous vocal minority and echo chambers..

I don't think the finals has too little content tbh. Look at apex (1 gamemode). It has around the amount of content you'd expect for other similar FPS games at this stage. I am sure new maps will come out later. Until then I am enjoying what we have got.
Im on xbox i play with crossplay off and get matches instantly even at 4am i just got into this game and i love it even all my friends love it i think this game is just gonna grow as improvements come

People don’t play games just to play them anymore so once they finished the battlepass and maxed career level they went to play something else. It’s between that, hype cycles (just wait for s2), and the metas/bugs being ironed out.

The problem I've found is that not many people even know about the game. I heard about it last year but didn't really pay much attention to it. I only started playing in the past couple of days and since that first game I have been glued to it nonstop. I'd consider myself a COD/Battlefield veteran along with most of my friends and every time I introduce it to one of my buddies, they love it as well. We cannot get enough of this game and everyone I've showed it too is like "it's been out for a month? how have I not heard of it?" I think releasing at the same time as a bunch of AA and AAA titles was a mistake

I think they are trying to make the game fun for solo players which should relieve some of the pressure of it being a team game. Solo bank it isn’t the best solution in my opinion. I think a Free for all involving no cash would be a great solution.

I play on console with crossplay disabled. Matches load in about 15 seconds. It’s not dead by a long shot
pre release weapon and health balancing was sooo good and then they released and fucked it up BIIIIIG TIME
I left after I consistently got nuked & they tried to fix it but Nuke was still a thing
At end of the day every game has its own player base. I tried playing call of duty, fortnite, splitgate and pubg before the finals. In that splitgate is the only game which i engaged mostly. After finals i have uninstalled every game and playing only finals, and it is not boring as every one saying. Game is good with limited wepons. Think if a noob enters call of duty they dont know anything about attachements but old players know very well and they can kill easily, but in finals, if you are noob, no problem just jump in try the wepons, use the one which felt good. I don't know why every one is saying finals is dying, it hurts a lot😢

In my opinion there is an oversupply of games on the market nowadays. And people are oversaturated too quickly. It's kinda getting a throwaway society. An excellent product like The Finals should get attention over a much longer period of time.

The first couple closed betas were really fun until the game realized and they changed a bunch of things without testing it with the players. I used to fiend over playing the finals play test but now I just don't care and same with my friends. They also implemented the anti consumer battle pass that punishes you for playing other games and having a stable lift outside of gaming. The micro transactions are the garbage ones from Halo Infinite where some of the things you wanted were just in a bundle of items you didn't want. A lot of the paid cosmetics didn't feel worth it because so many of them were really basic and those ones should have just been unlockable for free. A good amount of the cosmetics we were playing with in the play test still haven't should up anywhere in the game which is just silly because the whole reason to grind in the game is for cosmetics, it is built around your progressions in cosmetics long term. They also decided that massively increasing the requirements to unlock items was a good item for some reason so it just became a slog to actually ay what I wanted to play with.
No new core content or game modes, but plenty of overpriced cosmetic bullshit. Game released on life-support, we just hoped they'd pull out of it and improve. Still feels like an Early Access title.
The worst thing is that your enjoyment is not granted if youplay alone , they should have somehow advertise microphones better that would help
i understand that one of the recent updates turns microphone on from the start or maybe its push to talk that's turned on but this is only on fresh installs. They couldn't patch it for existing installs. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
the problem is that if you play alone, and you have terrible teammates, you will absolutely not enjoy the game because of how team orientated the game is.
The skill cap of the game will be its downfall most likely
yeah i had around ~20 hours when i literally removed the game from my account and never looked back. playing solo is negative fun it actively sucks away any fun i have the rest of the day@@GameFuMaster
You do have a valid point however, iv just finished the battle pass on mainly solo queuing and would say except for a few games iv enjoyed all. that's the thing with this game, loess's are still enjoyable more then any other shooter iv played. @@GameFuMaster
@@GameFuMaster Can't the same be said for a lot of these objective/team based shooters tho? I do agree that the skill cap is high on this game and bad teammates are infuriating.. but that happens in a lot of games. I feel like if they added a soulless BR or TDM mode people would eat it up and the game, despite having numbers, would be none the better for it.
As much as I love The Finals' concept and gameplay, but they will have to do more on anti-cheat and weapon balancing if they plan to stay long-term. Another reason for the drop of playercount IMO is due to the hype dying down. REMEMBER that The Finals was hyped over the fact that it will be like "old battlefield" and any game with hype will obviously die down in player count. Another reason is what you stated on the video. Palworld is currently leading and is having a storm cooked up in Steam, Xbox and PS5 (I don't know if its on PS5?).
Really love the gameplay, but skill based matchmaking just kills every ounce of fun in the game.
Don't forget that Palworld came out and literally everyone (and their moms) started playing that. Once that hype runs out I'm sure a lot of people will come back, just like me and my friends.

Just wondering, what modes do you play? I personally don't think this game has SBMM at all, I run into and destroy the exact same groups of people usually every time I play with my team. You wouldn't think that would happen if there was SBMM manipulating matches. Also, the different modes have separate matchmaking ranks (MMR, which isn't SBMM) I've played quick cash/bank it almost exclusively for 200 hrs, and when I go into tournament or ranked I see brand new players who are god awful, which isn't the case in the playlists I main.
There is literally zero shooters without SBMM
