I am such a silent Warrior, I have been told that I can get in to places and up close to ppl where others can not, I have that type of charisma, so I use it to benefit my ppl. I teach, and drop a little knowledge wherever I go. I have silent boycotts, meaning, I don't need a group of ppl to do it with me, I just do it. Warrior Queen in the house.

I'd like to think that Mr. Abdul-Jabbar is/was a silent soldier.
In being a silent soldier, one can at times speak louder than the visible warrior.
How so, we might ask?
In silence, we operate in and embody an 'entity' that the spiritually awakened would identify as the Holy Spirit. It is this 'spirit' operating silently within us that directs us and gives us the ability to be the soldier/warrior, if you will.
Mr. Abdul-Jabbar embodies this spirit, even today.

This was just what I needed to hear today. Thank you.
Dr. Black, every time brings he brings me back to my grandmother who would make us sit and pray during a storm, because " God was talking to us" as a kid, that was so spooky, lol. But now the ability to be silent, is a must. Dr. Hunter, thank you for noticing and seeing the need to expand this platform and the messages to our people to those who don't know or can hear spoken language, our brothers and sisters who are D/deaf miss this stuff sometimes. It is definitely an area to be explored.

Awesome . Jabbar was friends with Bruce Lee around this time and began to study Jeet Kune Do . He had better things to do.
Yes... he was one of Bruce Lee's regular students and his most awesome opponent in the film "Game of Death". It wouldn't surprise me at all if he learned to cultivate that quiet, inner voice, at least in part, from his martial arts training. Bruce called it "quiet awareness" and this is one of the most important aspects of martial arts training, but it seems to have taken a back-seat, these days, to the combative/competitive aspect of the arts.

I profoundly respect everyone but as a non believer in a God or god. Just like the deaf regarding language we all dont speak the same language or hear "god". But i do know the ways of knowing and been a warrior on both fronts. We are very powerful beings and can do amazing good or evil.
kareem did not create the hook shot. but he did perfect it and made it his own. i remember he was interviewed by joe garagiola on the today show about his boycott of the olympics. garagiola essentially said he should leave the country if he does not want to represent the u s a. the standard response then and now.

Spirit moves me to say this is an interesting time to see Kareem's name in the media. He helped fund the residence of the Hanafi Muslim residence on 16th St across from Walter Reed. The Hanafi brothers who took part in a hostage-taking event back in the 70s were all charged with some degree of murder in the death of the WHUR reporter, Maurice Williams(?), the wounding of Marion Barry and a guard. They all got serious jail time even though only one was guilty of firing the shots and most were not even present in that building. When will mainstream media report on the potential manslaughter charges for everyone who aided and abetted the former president's attack on the Capitol Building and Congress because 6 people died as a result of that conspiratorial criminal event? Will there be equal justice for melanemic perpetrators of manslaughter or just for the Hanafi Muslims? Will manslaughter charges ever have a vigorous drumbeat in the propaganda tool of the power structure or will we continue to hear crickets?
