Uh, 150,000 bucks for starting for what you are getting is a steal. Dont forget a a top trim level Carrera S is 150,000 bucks. A Revuelto starts at 600,000 bucks, and i bet a ZR1 is faster on track regardless of the horsepower deficit.
IF it starts @$150,000 , most be spec out close to $200K , Chevrolet better get there production going 24/7 , I’ve been waiting for my Z06 a Long time and E-Ray Production has BARELY started

In Canada a Z06 is 299k. A ZR1 will be 400k plus here. Way better options than a Chevy.

What good is 800+ HP if you can’t put that power down through the rear wheels? The E-Ray has proved that you don’t need more power to be quicker you just need AWD. The ZR1 will be the Z06 engine with the Hybrid technology to provide AWD. It won’t be turbocharged.

what date is it said to come out? i read early 2024 before but not quite sure what counts as early.
Will a ZO6 Used Car Price come close to the Base Price of the ZR1?
I wondering if I can get a ZO6, keep it for 6 months and move into a ZR1 if I can get an allocation for each model?

Should have a ZR1 for the masses and one for track guys. Someone like myself want both a car thats a decent daily or i can take to the track. If im spending that kind of money for a car i need to be able to use it everyday if wanted or needed.
Corvette is one of the oldest sports cars still available today. Think probably because it fits to large number of people not just one type. But would be great to have both options available but if only one smart move is to appeal to a large audience not a small.

EVs are not selling, they need to stair step plug in Hybrids to hybrids to EVs. Just look at the 918 Porsche that should be the next C9.
My 2023 has been in a collision center for 4 months waiting on rear shock, upper and lower control arms and right rear axle. I have a SPAT case in with GM and no parts in sight. A girl turned into my Z06 for no reason just missed her turn and didn’t look.
Has Hennessy come out with a Z06 with a 3.0 liter supercharger yet?
It doesn’t need more HP from the rear wheels. It needs a little pull from the front.
@@jamesdellaneve9005 Yes I guess you are correct, it’s really a shame that when they originally designed the C8 they really never allowed provisions for a AWD unit. It was probably so impractical that the EV up front made for the best possible option.

Great content as usual but my thoughts is hydrogen engines may be coming and electric cars leaving. Unless they come up with a much, much better alternative battery type than is presently being used, I think electric will be gone very soon, for many reasons.

Looks like a Z07 with a bigger motor. And it’ll probably cost over 160k to start, 200k for the one with the aero pack. And then the Z dealer markups make this 300k, or the same as the GTD which has active aero and Multimatic adaptive suspension, and also will probably weigh less. No, the GTD will not have markups when new, it comes straight from Multimatic for MSRP.

@@Marcello2005 maybe in straight line speed, but it definitely won’t be faster around a track. Don’t believe me? Well, believe this: the GTD without the aero package apparently makes around 1500 lbs of downforce… at 150. At 186, the benchmark the Corvette and a lot of other cars use, that’s 2300 lbs, which is 300 more than a GT3 RS Weissach Pack at the same speed. The GTD with the aero pack makes 2000 lbs at 150, or a whopping 3000 at 186. Guaranteed the ZR1 doesn’t make that 1st value even with its highest-downforce trim. On top of that, it has superior suspension and better cornering distribution.

The Plaid is a one trick pony. I respect it's fast in a straight line. Most of us on this channel would agree the Plaid isn't and never will be an electric muscle car.

A quick check on the ring and the Plaid ran a 7:35. Probably followed by a charge. An article also said it wasn't recommended for track use because it was too big and too heavy. I'll keep my 650 HP of American muscle. You can keep your Plaid (if you have one).

I agree, the EV hype is dieing down. Manufacturers are realizing Americans don't want EVs. ICE cars and trucks are not going away anytime soon.
I would totally love a performance hybrid, sadly the only choices is either a Prius or a 5 million dollar hyper car. Best of both worlds. It would increase range, acceleration, and handling. This kind of tech is what we really need
@marcog6470 Yeah, a ZR1 with electric motors would be a super car killer. Too rich for my blood. Maybe al single electric motor on the front of an engine as a more affordable option for poors like me. Me, I'm hoping for a Grand Sport with the Z06 body to come out.
@@chrismanning1171 no they should make it more affordable, it’s like they’re skipping hybrids and only offering one or the other. The combination of both make so much more practical sense and efficiency across the board.

EV"s have not been tested properly through extreme temperatures. There have been a rise of abandoned evs in cold temperatures due to batteries not able to hold a charge. Combustion engines vehicles are here to stay forever
Gm is stepping back from electric and delayed production lines as it is not really there. Ford loses 35k on every electric truck.
Forced induction safe bet 40% increase. Cut it to 30 to be conservative. Close to 900 then add the electric motors and your at 1200.

Austin, EVs are dead. First EV was made in 1871, not new technology. Dodge will go out of business, they only sell 3 cars now TRX CANCELLED. Ford & GM better shift to way lower priced cars or they will also go out of business.

Ford and Dodge still have balls. That's why GM won't put out a world beater car. Mary Barra is a joke. The cars they are putting out are sub par at best. Z06 should have been a track monster and zr1 should be the all out killer. That won't happen and GM will be worse for it.
You built your audience with your good coverage of the C8 Z06 - then you trashed it. Bye bye - you have no credibility anymore about anything Corvette.
They should stop with this electric garbage. Leave electric to power your home lights. Gas is the only way to go for now and in the future. MOPAR and Corvettes should be high HP gas cars. What are we going to do with our car collections of 60's muscle cars?
