Hi Terry hope your both well my good friend. The mods worked really well I'm more than happy with this little stove it's a great bit of kit. Sandwich and coffee were delicious. I really do like that knife its brilliant. Claire says hi, give our regards to Mel for us both

I just got the same stove for $9 on Temu. Mine seems quite sturdy with the handles up and the top grate over the handles.
That's a good price, they are a fantastic little stove especially is someone is on a tight budget. I tried that and agree it does make it sturdy, my little mod just goes a step further. Ideal if there is a breeze or need to keep the door closed keeps a cleaner burn. 👍👍👍

Nice time in the woods there bud. Yeah I have one of those stoves and they work . Mines warped a little now but still does the job . Use the bushbox mostly now though ( got it as a prezzie ) . Take care 👍🏕

Cool video Gary, like the mods to the stove, I've had one for years, before covid, (can't afford the firebox version) and even without mids, it's been brilliant to be fair, no warping, or any issues, think mine was about £15 too, my son has one too, there both unbranded, and his is spot on too, good old spam sarnie 👌, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig

i love these little cheap stoves i made many mods for them, buy two and combine them for a bigger in tent version . i cant believe people pay £300 for a wood burner its just crazy keep the ideas coming 👍

also there is a version 1 and version 2 of these stoves version two locks it together better with the wood grill, and the handles should fit in the hoops of the food grill to hold it together better, but that said it looks solid 👍
I thought that my friend, I looked at that when it arrived. My little mod seems to help with the airflow as well as strengthening it. Thanks again buddy 👍👍

For me the issue with this stove was it was too open, too much airflow, if you can only afford this I definitely agree it'll do a boil or even a quick meal. But long burns over 2 hours I found would struggle because it would start to clog up with Ash, where as my firebox and bushbox have run for 6 hrs like a actual campfire if needed. The difference is polar if you have them both. But a great stove for the price.
100% with you Carl the firebox stove is an amazing bit of kit. Like you I've used mine as a solo fire on an overnight camp they are brilliant. With the mod I've done on this cheap stove I think the airflow could possibly be slowed down by keeping the door shut. Making it a top feeder, with my mod it would allow this. But I would need to come up with a better idea for keeping the embers. The stove isn't bad at all, especially for what it cost. As you mentioned if that's all was what someone's budget would allow them to buy then with this tweak is would turn it into a decent affordable stove. Thanks for watching buddy 👍👍👍
