Clever adaptation Drew! Really enjoyed the editing of you putting it all together during the first half 👌

Awe dude it’s looking pretty sweet hopefully it works with everything put back together because I really want to put one of these on my 16 rgu and this is an excellent video. Only thing is I would probably rivet the bracket together instead of jb weld, anyway looking good and hopefully you get it back together and get to try your new shocks soon too. ✌🏻

Just ordered a bunch of parts from Harley yesterday.. should start rolling in next week.
My signal lights should be here Monday, the only thing that I still need to order is my new handlebars.
I think your right, I should probably rivet those brackets considering it’s the only point where it secures to the bike. I need to remove the Bracket to paint it black anyways cause it shows through the screens more than I thought it would.

I was going to put the nice oil cooler cover on my 20 Street Glide. My buddy was able to do his but it doesn't fit with lowers which I had added to my bike.

Yeah there’s not much room there.. pretty tight fit.

Actually it does fit with lowers on your bike. It’s a tight fit but will work. I tried to install mine with the lower on first and had issues. It’s a pain in the butt but I took my lowers off install the chin spoiler first and then put the lowers back on. Takes patience and a little added effort but it will work. It you have a cover over the oil cooler make sure you remove that too or it won’t fit. Good luck.

@@NateDizzle984 I am not talking about the chin spoiler, they have a fancy metal oil cooler cover you can buy from Harley. To make it fit with lowers you would need to cut/grind a bunch of material off of it to fit as it is too wide. We were after the protection they give as they have expanded sheet metal for a screen on them that protects the oil cooler from rocks flying up off of the front wheel.

Dang - I like what you did here. Now I can buy one for my 16 RGU. Such a "simple" fix and I am still amazed AdvanBlack doesn't make this possible. If they are smart, they will copy this.....and give you credit!!
It looks good enough to me. However, I do agree that opening that 'cut' where it mounts on the guard just may give it that angle. BUT you may also change the angle of the brackets and need to re-do them so the screws line up.
One last thought. Would like to see the clearance under the chin guard once the bike is on the ground.

Oh yeah for sure.. were not done testing this at all. I'm gonna redo the bracket as well I think to clean it up, I need to paint it black to hide it better and I think put a couple rivets in it to secure it better.

Hey Drew, so what would happen if you started your alignment from the bottom by taking the cut-outs on the chin spoiler and aligning them with the engine guard? Seems you could then trim the top (2" ??) without it looking bad.
( I am trying to visualize the fitment from pictures I have seen on just the 'regular' 2016 road glides. )

Yeah I don't know.. I'm hoping not to have to modify the spoiler just because I can't afford to mess it up and try again 😂

Why not just use a double bend 1 piece?

    • @Touringmidwest

I didn’t have anyways of bending metal like that.. is there something like that available?
