Lol, that was me the guy you were talking about with the bolts, hehe… Its difficult to explain over text or by writing, I even had a friend of mine come over and and he was like what are you talking about, lol… In short the Road Glide Special, at least the 2019 like mine, does not come with the wind deflectors and the frame does not have a threaded hole there, thus they send you the crush nuts. The way they work is rhe same as the sheetrock anchors, you have to first put in the screw and tighten it so that the back expands and tightens, once it dies you remove it and install the part. Steve from Sik Baggers has a video on it and explains this process and that you must tighten/torque to 60 pounds for this nut to crush and there is where the dilema starts… The crush part never happens and if you insist on it it crushes enough that is won’t be tight nor will it come out… I’ve spoken to others that have installed these and the sounds of horror coming from their mouths is insane, LOL… Anyway, one day when we meet I’ll shows ya…
@@ProfessionalMonkey Oh man you have NO idea, my friend convinced me to push further until what I said would happen happened, bold was loose but not enough to remove it, it was stuck, UGH!, so later I had to grab the Dremel and cut it off (little by little as not to touch the frame, then we went to home depot, like Steve said ( I should have followed his recommendation right away, but I put it off and forgot what I needed to buy, lol) and bought stainless steel bolts and washers and did it the right way. But it didn't end there, trying to get to the back of frame to hold the nut was another HUGE mission, I had to unbolt the fuse box and still didn't have full access (I could put one finger through but could not turn it to screw it, dropped the nut 300 times and had to go fishing for it with a magnet, man it was a nightmare had to use the magnet to screw it in, lol! That was the left side of the bike, we thought ok, right side will be easier, and it was just a tad, but the bold on that side was like a sliver away from the cylinder, so had to use a small wrench and only like 1/4 turns, I hope I NEVER have to go through that again. I had TONS less of a hard time installing the entire Dakota Digital displays than installing those damn wind deflectors... BUT they look AMAZING after all...! Next time you are out with friends, try this, just point to the wind deflectors and see what reaction you get, if they installed them themselves you are you to get at LEAST and "OOOOHHH MAAAAAN!!!", LOL... That was my case on my last ride, from like 3 people, ROFL...
Wow, I am so impressed. To be able to change the entire look of your precious bike from its original color to what ever the hell you want and back to original is stupid awesome. I'm a 5 month long Harley owner . You just opened up so many possibilities. Thank you for sharing. Pete from central California.
that right hand size one also does keep spinning on the 2020 street glide special. they wont even catch before they keep spinning. I work on all my bikes, and this damn thing fought me more than my rockford stage 3 audio system
If you run across a loose crush but you can use gorilla super glue to make it tight enough but don’t over tighten the screw when you put the covers back on. I ran across this problem on a used bike I bought it works great!
One of these years I plan on going to the Galveston bike rally I don’t know if you ever go but for sure on my bucket list is to go to sturgis one of these years and I would love to be able to meet you one day your one of my favorite UA-camrs and I can’t wait to get me a GoPro and start uploading myself like I was planing on years ago.
Hahahahaha, you said Rim Job. 😂😂😂😂. Bike looks great. Can’t wait to see how well the paint holds up. Long term review at say 5k to 10k miles in the future. 👍
nice i recently Put thrashin 8 1/2 inch risers with aggresive mid bars and street glide pullback plate and put t bars on my ultra but my bike dosent have info screen t bars look good behind the batwing Believe it or not
Good Video, but the neighbor with her hands on her hips looking into you garage at the end is one of the best parts..she has that please move out of the neighborhood look to her lol
Great job Mr. Monkey, No Sir you are not stealing work from body shops. They like me appreciate not having to do these tedious jobs. I commend you on being patient with your body shop. Personally I slow down on jobs I get daily calls or visits on. Thanks to Advonblack, in a weekend anyone can change their bikes color with quality parts. Your bikes are red and the Lady- Mrs. Monkey has grey, very cool. You all are in my prayers Hoka Hey
@@ProfessionalMonkey thanks I’ve been kicking several around in my head but I love the look and sound of the 50 cal. But don’t know anyone that has it personally.
Oh by the the bike looks awesome, color is amazing… Question, will you need to modify your registration on a change like this?, being that it’s registered as a black bike?
It might make for an interesting conversation with po po someday, and you can go to the DMV and update the color, but I am not going to... It adds EXCITEMENT!
Maybe once the chrome tank badges are in place, the color match tank strap won't look so horrible, sorry don't mean any disrespect, but that big red bump on the tank is like a seat with red stitching, just food for thought ")
Mr Monkey, picture a gyroscope type device containing something like a jar, the gyroscope keeps the jar level, it's mounted on the handle bars, the twist is the jar is an aquarium

Hope u check your old video comments. Just an fyi. I have the same dash console with the pop up fuel cap. Please take the cap off, flip upside down, take a look at the set screw that holds the cross bar for the pop up and down latch. Mine came loose and is in my tank. Lol. So before u go too far, pull screw and put some loctite on it and good to go
lol , you are so spoiled lol. the tank and fender looks really good. i prefer that fender shape. the dash looks good too. are you worried not having a locking gas cap? or will the bike alarm be good enough? i dont know how sensitive the alarms are. good vid
Made it.. I can live vicariously thru you LOL..
You and advanblack turned your typical Harley black bike into a beautiful red motorcycle
Thank you!
DAMN ADVANBLACK MAKES A KILLER PRODUCTS. I REALLY LIKE THOSE TANK COVERS.
That's really cool. I was worried it would scratch tank all up.

Thanks bud. I like this shop, so far I totally understand the time it takes as we are dealing with getting a difficult color.
Do the guys that done the parts for the ultra make stretch tanks for the heritage bike.
Not yet. So far only touring bikes...
I have a question related to an older video. How do you like the Tab performance set up you put on Mrs Monkeys CVO after having it for a little while?

The dash from Advan includes the black rubber gasket.
Ok, thank you!!
I would be interested to know what a kit like that would cost
