Monday's Vlog featuring 12 famous designer labels: • My Designer Thrift Fin...
This is most helpful! Thanks a Bunch!
Thanks so much for this video-you’ve hit my weak spot and now It’ll be easier to let all those damaged items stay were they belong! This is a much needed topic 😎
Girl!!!! I love how you come through with the history! You absolutely know your stuff! Great value for beginners and veteran resellers!
Yes girl! I'm a new seller and I got lots just because of the brand and got them home and noticed damage! New seller 101 you don't want to make the same new seller mistakes!
Appreciate you so much!
Your brand/label knowledge is SUPERB...thanks so much for sharing...I always learn something new from you! 🥰
Thank you! Happy thrifting.
Gosh u know your stuff
Watching these designer videos reminds me of my high school art class. On the surface, it was art. In reality, it was so much history. So I feel like these are a part of a reseller "history" class! So much good info!
This Abundant Life Thank you so much!!! I love that you are enjoying it and learning about designers - my favorite part of reselling is recognizing something truly magnificent in the ‘wild’.
I hate it when this happens. I swear they grow flaws from the store to the studio.
46 seconds into this video and you have completely accurately nailed my #1 mistake, one that I am still making 5 months into my journey! I get entranced by the label and ignore the pilling, age, etc. Thank you as always for your great content.
You're #1 in my book! Not only are you full of great reseller general information, your background on designers and tips on sourcing good quality fashion is head and shoulders above everyone else!
JacksandBaloo Thank you!!!
New York Thrifter, have you tried Goodwill bins (outlet)? Have you found any interesting stuff over there?
Happy New Year to you and your viewers!
Hiya! Alice Temperley is a Dame as well! (She was given an MBE.) She did a collab w/ Target (which went for high prices on eBay). See By Chloe is their diffusion line, geared towards a younger, edgier crowd. VW has about 4 different lines. Going from lowest priced to highest: VW Red Label, Anglomania, Vivienne Westwood, VW Gold (that’s the line you’ll see celebs in), then there’s her collab w/ Melissa shoes a near zero emissions co in Brazil that makes what look like plastic shoes (they are made from some kind of sustainable material, will degrade w/out leaching chemicals into the earth). “Designer” & “luxury” are the same! They’re priced the same. If the original price is lower then it’s just “high-end”. I hope that helps! Have a lovely day! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️
LOVE this new series...it amazes me how much you know!!! Thank you for doing this!!! So helpful! Your awesome!!!
No - you are awesome!
Thank you! Love love love learning about your designer pieces. Always looking forward to the next vid.
laurie848 Working on my vid for today!
I learn something new EVERY SINGLE VIDEO! Thank you for everything you share with us :)
Another great one! The Parker dress is an ikat print; gorgeous!
YES! Of course. I had a total blank there.
Super helpful and relevant information!! Thank you!
Now I know what to look for when I shop for myself ! I found a vintage DVF dress the other day! I almost fainted ! TFS
NICE!!!
It would be very fun to thrift in NYC. I just wish I could buy a house for like $150-200k within a 30-60min commute.
Fred I’m about 35 minutes from the city and bought a really inexpensive house (which did need some work). My husband and I looked for about a year, but eventually found our place. Keep looking!!!
Love the detailed info you give !
As always, so thorough and informative.
2 years looking have never seen a lululemon. 75% of these brands I've never seen.
Me either! I go thrifting a lot! I once I found a Lafayette sweater and got really excited! But quickly saw it was missing three buttons! Hahaha! But she lives in New York where alot of rich people live maybe that's why she finds so many good pieces.
I am VERY lucky that I live in the NYC Metro area because it really is a fashion capital. I have thrifted all over the US (and even a bit in other countries) and this is the best picking I have ever found.
First 2 years of my career I saw one Lululemon piece, some mens shorts. I was only sourcing the regular Goodwill retail stores. I recently moved to a major city and started sourcing the Goodwill outlet. I get Lululemon every week now, maybe 2-5 pieces a week. My theory is that either the retail stores sort out Lululemon and some other brands, or the city I moved to has a better donation pool.
@@RunwayMUA I'm sorry, I just saw your reply. If I move, it will be to a big city for their bins!
omg, ive came across many Parker items, but passed cuz i wasnt impressed by the label. Thanks for info!
Of course!
This is AWESOME. I'm a Male reseller knowing that I'm passing by money because I don't know anything about womens clothing. I havent found a video this good yet. Super in depth and detailed. Any videos or blogs in particular you could reccomend? Ty.
your amazing! Always learn something from your videos - thanks!
I wish i knew about your channel before my 1st trip to the bins. I made that mistake and I still have pieces from that trip. I plan on donating them to the goodwill. And your so informative-I now shop more at local thrift stores for brands and what I see is trending. It Works!
The amount of clothes I have donated back is astounding! Good lucky.
It is always hard to put items back on the rack - I get so excited to find a good piece and it is disappointing to put it back after finding flaws. On my last trip to a Goodwill I picked out about 20 items and had to put 10 back. :( I definitely do not like listing items with flaws though!
On my last trip I put like 70% back! It broke my heart but I knew what I needed to do...
@@RunwayMUA 70% !! That would be so disappointing!
Extremely helpful, learned so much here. Great video
I live in a city not far from New York and I am thinking about going there for shopping. I never find these brands in my city. What are some of the best stores to shop in. And by the why, THANK YOU for you videos And for your caring Heart. It's because of you that I started selling things on line, I cheer when I see that you have up loaded a video. Again, thank you😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Lots of info on designers. Please keep making these videos. You are very knowledgeable on the brands you resell. :)
I’m a big, big fan of yours!! Two questions: (1.) I’m noticing you’re not looking at Poshmark, Completely or SellHound for price comps. What is your reasoning behind that? (2.) Do you get anxiety when thrifting knowing you have a storage locker of death piles waiting to be listed?
Hey! 1) I have stepped back from Poshmark because things just don't move as quickly for me over there as they do on eBay. I also don't like the sharing aspect (I really don't 'get' the PFF thing -- how do you bond over someone making an offer on jeans?) I probably will start back up at some point when I get the whole vlogging thing under control -- right now it is taking up all of my spare time. I don't use other price comp tools because I like to have a lot of control what I am looking at and I also check things other than what they have on SellHound, etc. (On my videos I show a pretty paired down look at what I do for checking solds). 2) I don't have anxiety about thrifting with my death piles. I love shopping and I make sure I'm only getting what will sell. I love being surrounded :)
New York Thrifter Well said!! Thank you!
The " sharing" on Poshmark takes a ridiculous amount of time. @southernlovely I have not had a lot of sales. How do you FIGURE OUT THE SHIPPING?
I LOVE Adam Lippes pieces, they're so pretty but my goodness I can't get mine to move. I don't understand why with such beautiful quality and cut.
i think it is because he is not well known... I agree that the pieces are beautiful.
Please add a link to your store. I think your sales will greatly increase. So many things I see would love to buy!😉
The information you provided was great. I look forward to following you on Utube.
That Chloe dress is gorgeous! I think I could fix those stains! What is your eBay store please?!?
Ginger Ale I’d love to know the name of her Ebay store. I think that might be proprietary info on her part though as I’ve never been able to determine her store name.
Where is this Goodwill located ? Thank You for another Amazing Video ❤️💋
I'm in Northern New Jersey
Thanks for all your vidds. This Goodwill is in my town
Chloe is pronounced klo-we like glow+we
THANKS!
@@RunwayMUA No, Problems. That's an excellent amount of it too. I have never found a piece of Chloe down here in Florida; drowning in Michael Kors.
Plus size MK actually does pretty well for me...but Chloe is better!
I was going to say St. lol My daughter’s name: Kuh-low-ee 😉
I Really enjoy your videos !
Chloe rhymes with Bowie, not low.
Love your videos! Great eye for clothing! What is name of your E bay store?
Compran las prendas prácticamente regaladas y quieren sacarles el doble de lo que valieron que tal.
Can I ask an unrelated question?
You know so much about jeans I have a pair of Sofia boot it has a tag that says 10/30 but no size tag.
Is the 10 the size and 30 the inseam? Thank you so much.
Whenever you have a question about sizes, I suggest you go onto the brand's size chart. It looks like the Lucky Sofia boot is a size 10 (which means it's waist measurement is 30 NOT the inseam). You can see this here: www.luckybrand.com/apparel/sizeGuide.html
Thank you so much. Iam new and this was extremely helpful. Thank you so much for your time as well.
Your videos are amazing and very helpful.
Interesting!
Timo Weiland piece is pronounced why-land (we have the same last name). Great video :))
Thanks for the assist!
Hey, I’m caught up on your vlogs😊
I meant Yey ! Dang autocorrect!
YAY!
It's interesting that you don't mention what's in style, the trends or what's actually a piece people are looking for. You only focus on label and condition?
Great video.
you amaze me- do you ever sleep? Subbed. I thought I knew something about designers until I saw a few of your videos! Thanks!
Maroulio No sleep for me!
Just curious, when you say you send items to TRR, did you sign up as a business or as an individual. I'm trying to find out how the "business" sign up works, without filling out the form first.
Sheena Gray I didn’t sign up as a business...I’m not even sure that’s an option.
@@RunwayMUA it is an option. I just wondered if the items are sent to them, or how it works. There isn't an explanation on their website, just an application to fill out.
It's pronounced chlo-e, not chloe
It's not KLO it's KLO-ee
Iza Jerry Yes,it is.
