AEW managed to embarrass themselves once again. It’s clear that the company wasn’t happy with CM Punk and his comments after his interview with Ariel Helwani. They were so unhappy about it that Edge was sent to the ring to kick-off AEW Dynamite and address it.
For the first eight minutes of his promo, he proceeded to talk about how much he loves AEW, the strength of the locker-room and how it changed professional wrestling. This is embarrassing.

I understand where Edge was coming from, but he wasn't the right person to cut that promo. He's barely been in the company and is vastly unaware of what Punk had to put up with.
It had to be someone like Darby Allin or mjf to cut that promo, not Copeland. Those 2 have been there from jump and had to deal with the BS behind the scenes as well. Heck, even a natural heel like Sammy, could’ve done a good job at doing that promo. It’s ironic how 3 out of the 4 “pillars” are the best candidates, but it’s true. They rly messed up by wasting time on a promo like that to open up the show, instead of an opening that could’ve furthered an intriguing storyline, or given tv time to a deserving wrestler who can get over with the crowd like wardlow or whoever else

One UA-camr I use to follow jumped on the AEW bandwagon so hard that any negative press on AEW he was quick to defend but if it was WWE he quickly added on. I'm a diehard WWE guy but I've noticed AEW has been getting an unnecessary ton of hate of late which is totally unfair. They had a bad PR over the weekend from one of their former highest draw even though it happened on a UA-cam channel, millions have already seen it. And who better to leave the fans with a positive feel and counter the negativity than a literal WWE Hall of Famer, Edge. He did that, explained why competition has made WWE “better” (which in all fairness it has) so let's just move on. Hopefully AEW learns from the criticism and puts on a more compelling product like they used to.
What I don’t understand is why tony as the boss is going to punk to settle a issue he should have settled
The best thing Tony could have done was (ironically) ignore it in the public light and truly evaluate the companies inner workings behind the scenes. Sending Edge out there for PR only made them look more desperate to change the narrative, rather they should actually look to fixing their perception naturally.
This is ironic, brooks talked to ariel about tk and aew, also even the evil dark cloud over wwe vkm. The irony about this, mr. brooks just validated (unintentionally) vkm why he never took aew seriously as competition. Brooks just said so with ariel they don't care about business and that's why wwe evil (vkm) didn't care about them either.

The difference between WWE and aew right now is WWE is doing so many good moves and is so far ahead right now they can easily afford for Punk to go off and say what he wants with zero chances of it backfiring. AEW is not in that same position. They NEED to show they can be mature, take criticism, and have the smarts to move on and improve. Not lash out, and point fingers. WWE can do that because they are doing major psychotic business right now and even the Vince scandal didn't even slow them down. THAT is power. AEW however has endless drama being broadcast, and ex WWE guys are holding up most of their business ATM while their best talents like Darby Allin and MJF aren't exactly enjoying themselves over there right now. Edge is nice and all...but come on AEW. Use the glorious stars you have right now.
