  • ESPACE is French, but it is easy to understand: E SPACE means "space" in French. The first-generation ESPACE was released in 1984, flaunting its cabin space, and many epoch-making concepts had been incorporated into it at that time, becoming the ancestor of European MPVs. Later Japanese MPVs and other European MPVs generally used ESPACE as the design blueprint and improved upon it. .
However, when ESPACE was launched, people still thought of family cars as sedans or station wagons. The acceptance of ESPACE was not high at first, especially in Asia. The first-generation ESPACE was officially introduced in Taiwan, but sales were very low. It seems that the second generation was only intended to introduce a small batch, and the third generation could be said to have been completely skipped. It was not until the fourth generation that the RENAULT agency rights were officially introduced.
The fourth-generation ESPACE is already a very mature MPV product, and it is not a problem to fight with the Japanese MPVs that were the market leaders at the time. Taiwan's ESPACE only introduces a single model of 2.0T, priced at more than 1.6 million NTD. It is well equipped, has plenty of power, and has affordable taxes. However, it still loses to the competition of Japanese MPVs. Therefore, Taiwan only introduces ESPACE in the early stage, and no longer introduces it after the mid-term. Of course, the fifth generation has no connection with Taiwan.
As the first European MPV, what exactly does ESPACE have? Let’s find out through this video~

Thanks for your comment. This is my friend's car. He bought it at 2006. The engine is still strong and easy to drive.
