My favorite is when you style your finds. I have had so much inspiration from it.
That first Goodwill is over-priced. But then again, I have noticed that since newcomers are entering the thrifting world, some Goodwilla and a bunch of other thrift shops have lost their minss with prices. Folks, don't overpay!

The phone chair used to be called a gossip bench 🤣
That was my fave find of yours the way you styled it was perfect! I would get some velvet mustard yellow material for the fall and sage green for the winter.

My grandmother had a telephone bench from the 1940s and she added a needlepoint covering with black background with beautiful roses. A piece of tapestry cloth would also work for a seat cover. You could put a basket in the phone book cubbyhole and add a charging station...all phones in basket, recharging as downtime during dinner and family time.
My big regret: My FIL put the phone chair out for street pick up. I loved it, and my heart still hurts.

I also had this thought. I can envision that telephone stand painted in a high gloss black with the curved molding strips at top and bottom painted gold, a gold medallion made from air dry clay placed on the front, and a tapestry piece as upholstery on the seat cushion. I think it would look very regal and Victorian. 🤷♀️

I look forward to your videos and seeing all of your finds. The phone table in the corner by the staircase gave me warm, homey, feels. Everything looked lovely, but I especially like the dark wooden picture frame that will look perfect with a photo of one of your "ancestors" displayed in it as well as all of the crusty books that you so fortunately discovered.. Books are my down fall when shopping. Love it all!

The telephone seat cover is a shade of blue green and would go fine with Christmas or fall colors, imho. I have a wing chair in that same fabric that i almost recovered several years back, now I'm glad i didnt 😊

No, I've never been BUT my former in-laws used to go there annually (they lived in NJ) because a woman from there Methodist church was originally from there and a big promoter of tourism to her native country!
I have the square casserole holder, i have my old bibles standing and lined up in it.. seen several people using books and now I'm seeing others use bibles also. It looks awesome! The blue and white lamps were stunning, I'm a lamp hoarder, they'd be in my decor room for sure😄 and the art you showed us as well! That little phone bench is so nice in that corner by the stairs. The blue of the seat even looks nice with the greens added for spring, really tones it down and softens the whole look.

The phone bench is what was called a gossip bench! The ladies would sit at it with their phone and talk. My mom had one from the 50s! I grew up with it.
Not trying to disagree; but, I too, thought at first it was a gossip bench. Then I think I recall a true gossip bench having 2 seats that are side by side but in opposite directions so the people end up facing each other. Not sure, but wondering what you think of that.
