I love that his voice has so much soul; the vocals runs are 🔥
He stands there almost motionless and out comes this SOARING vocal-I just recently saw Buck ,Annie and Matthew being interviewed. It was awesome hear their stories-several years back Annie came to sing at our little church and my wife and I had the privilege or taking them to lunch-what you see is what you get-very gracious and humble people- I 'm convinced that they don't know the true impact that they made with their music-(sibling harmony) the best kind-beyond the talent was the Spirit of the living GOD-well done!
I have many fond memories of my aunts playing this record at my grandparent's home while we would visit there - I really loved how they harmonized but being a young girl, I was specially fond of Matthew - the fact that he was easy on the eyes along with his awesome voice didn't hurt! ;)
Not many singers (like none) have ever been able to sing like Matthew Ward. His voice and those 2nd Chapter of Acts harmonies wowed Christian music all those years ago. Great music for our awesome God!
This is how I remember 2nd. CHAPER OF ACTS. Saw them in concert in late 70'-80's love the voices
An 18/19 year old Matthew Ward. Bro has pipes!
What a blessing their music continues to be to me. Still play all of their songs. Was so blessed to see them perform live several times. What an anointed time that was!
He has a really nice voice!👍✨
Heaven.....literally! His voice and this song convinced me, right after conversion, that there are very gifted people out there too aside from Dylan and Joni Mitchell...
I wish they’d carried on with this ministry
So GOOD! Phil loved these kids and played anytime he had the time with them
Mathew Ward's music ………...SERIOUSLYYYY NEVER DATES !??!?!?!? \o/ ;) I've loved him n his music for over 40 years.
1977!
seen 2nd chapter of acts and phil keaggy several times
love matthew ward
We saw them perform
This at the Memorial Auditorium in Sac. I’ll never forget that concert.
This is a magical song and well written plus a genius on guitar, Mr.Keaggy and those amazing guitar licks,it is purely supernatural.
Are you sure that's Phil Keaggy?
@@jamestheradioman I am positive . Not only did I see and meet 2nd chapter in the late 70s I first saw Phil with his own band in the middle 70s and I have seen Phil face to face after a concert as early as 1980.
@@fastfretting Wow! Cool 😎. I worked at a radio station in Miami years ago and one of our jingles had vocals from Matthew Ward.
That is absolutely Phil Keaggy, they did a live album from this tour called “How The West Was One” . It has some if Phil’s most incredible playing ever on that live album..
Truly truly a God gifted voice! I can't count how many times in years past Second Chapter of Acts, especially songs with Matthew's voice, have carried me through much turmoil and heartache that I've gone through. If a voice like that can reach down deep inside you and pull your every emotion out, it has to be anointed by God!!
Good message Tony
@@joseluiscintronalmodovar5637 Thank you Joseluis! God Bless You My Friend!
Wow...met Matthew a few years ago....listened to them back in the 80s...wow....
Well the guitar riffs were amazing...the singing...of well
Been searching for this song for years
In 1979 I got to see 2nd Chapter of Acts do this song live in a theater that's no longer around in downtown Cincinnati Ohio. What a show if you were a Christian.
Saw them too in 79 along with A Band Called David. Saw Keaggy separate 2 times
Best guitar solo ever!
yea that's Phil Keaggy! one of the best guitarists ever in the Christian venue
What he does on Rejoice from How the West Was One is better, IMHO. Check it out.
Eric Clapton once said Phil Keaggy was the best guitar player, ever - better than he himself.
Phil still has that Les Paul. He's been playing that one since the Glass Harp days back in the early seventies and he's used that guitar on most of his albums and he still tours with it. I've seen him about five times and one of the times that I saw him he brought that guitar and I got to get a real good close-up look on it. That guitar has been well taken care of and well played.
AMEN
Virtuoso vocalist, virtuoso guitarist WOW!
each of us has our own personal rhythm. this is the only song i've found that fits mine perfectly. bless you for posting this!
Amazing ❤️

Oh my Lord! Soooo good!
Thank you!
Amazing song!!
Great song and voice
Phil Keaggy! So young he still worship
Something is wrong on this video, your comment says 7 months old but the posting date is Nov 22, 2021 which is just a bit over 4 months ago...and the views are listed as 12, even though the number of comments is in the 70's!!!
I've discovered this, ASFB and Phil Keaggy, so.....Question for everyone here: What are some other really good 60s/70s Christian artists with this much soul?
Nellie really wants to dance, but we didn't do that back then.
That never occurred to me but I guess you're right. CCM wasn't fully accepted until the 80s and so they were still reluctant to rock the boat in 77. Too bad.
@@JewandGreek, perhaps she didn't want to draw attention away from Phil's amazing guitar solo.
My wife and I went to a Christian Music night at Disneyland back in the 80s to see Randi Stonehill. It was hilarious because he was playing in an area with a gazebo, might have been the Main Street Pavillion. Security comes by and tells the crowd if we wanted to stay in that location, we HAD to DANCE! Now that was a new one. The Mouse Patrol was forcing us to dance! Just when you thought you’d seen it all😂
Love this!!! Thank you!!
Great!!!
A pleasure. espero te guste mi canal
I would love to see footage of this entire gig
VERY VERY WELL........................................

Ya había escuchado esa canción, pero ¡no sabía que Phil era el de la guitarra! Siempre ma pareció suuuper, ahora lo confirmo.
asi es fué colaborador de muchas grabaciones de diferentes bandas
Actually, Phil is taller than any of them (there is a hole in the stage where he is standing)
I´d like to have the whole concert on video !

joseluis cintron almodovar You're very welcome, dear friend, & the pleasure is all mine, as I've no need to build that time machine now! :-) x

I that Michael Been from the Call on Bass?
Herb Melton. He toured with them for years.
Look up a channel here called Leland Sklar, a session bass player who played with them on that Ocean Liner song...but PLEASE don't get bamboozled by his political rants, lol...(he means well probably)

Rudolf Penner • If you look, the audio of this video is remastered from my studio, it sounds good
How controversial was this in 77? Most Christians at this time were against rock and roll
•
Unfortunately it was so, but God has raised these ministries to shame the religious, and bring a message that they could not because their comfort screws them to a cold bench in a temple
OH MYYYYYYY😮You mean Christians know how to ROCK? 😂😂😂
Apparently love isn't a law but an emotional bla bla bla
Pretty lame...
Thirdgen83 not possible. The vocals are amazing and that’s Phil Keaggy on guitar! You won’t say Christ is lame when He returns in power and lightning 🌩
