It's already great looking on PS5. The trailer doesn't actually look significantly better than the game on a 4k OLED TV, the main benefit to PC will probably be running with DLSS which will provide a very slight visual fidelity upgrade, and higher framerates
@@puffman06 Very slight? we've done this dance before. the console version is going to be using a mix of med-high settings as is the case with the majority of console games this gen due to hardware limitations. This is normal. there is no fighting this. The PC will not be held back by the hardware limitations of consoles. Plus YT compression is pretty terrible, so if that's you're using as an example for console fidelity, then I have high hopes for the PC version lol.

Guerilla is such an important pioneer in 3D rendering. A lot of things you see in other games are from their research, like the RDR2 sky system

While I worry about one company handling all these big ports, I'm glad that Nixxes has been consistently supporting Nvidia's newer tech.
But Sony has multiple studios handling big PC ports.

Yep, support for DLSS has been excellent in most Sony ports. Hopefully FSR and XeSS will also be available for non-RTX cards.
Nixxes is like one of the best porting houses in the industry. They are the ones you want on it. The one that you don't want is Iron Galaxy. Also, since Sony is always sending Iron business, maybe they should just purchase them and have them merge with Nixxes so they can get better.

I love that Sony is supporting the latest PC API technologies. Of course Nvidia wants to showcase DLSS 3 but you can assume that FSR and XeSS will be supported as well
NVIDIA or Intel doesn't block other upscalers so it will absolutely be there, it's only AMD that pulls this stunt of blocking DLSS and XeSS in their sponsored titles, although that seems to be changing after the recent backlash.

Honestly it`s a weird time when Sony is amongst the best publishers for PC community recently, no BS launchers, nice optimization, good games overall, while majority of devs bring broken games, Sony is killing it, yes Uncharted had some issues at launch, but it was handled by the worst studio out there, but Nixxes is doing this one, so it will probably be more than good.
I am honestly hoping for Gran Turismo on PC.

@@BenD0v3r32 The Last of Us was brought by Iron Galaxy Studio, the same studio that did Uncharted, but TLOU was fixed pretty quickly.
The point is, Sony has brought some pretty good ports to PC, while there are "PC Enthusiast" companies who brought us garbage that was either never completely fixed or took a long time to fix.

This game deserved so much better. LOVEd it a whole lot. just like zero dawn, it was just not received as well as it desrved.
Only took 2 years for it to come to PC vs the 3 years it took for Horizon Zero Dawn to come to PC in 2020 after it launched in 2017.

This game could suport some optimized raytraced Reglections for machine parts only (to have good performance & image quality)
Also some render resolution percentage for 1080P laptop , so we can enjoy 4k too😊

The main issue with these new performance improving technologies is that studios treat them as if they were the holy remedy to their own mediocrity and then make piss poor ports and hope the tech just saves the day. What was once supposed to bring 120FPS gaming to life became the excuse of the mediocre to turn their 20 FPS performance into 45FPS...
You shouldn't be worried. TLoU was done but Iron Galaxy who has had issues before. This is done by Nixxes. They are like the best in the industry. Also, I want to mention that the new performance techs aren't there to be a crutch for developers. Honestly trying to run Native 4K @60 is not a small ask. The PS5 runs quality mode at native 4K and then it can only hold 40FPS. And which the PS5 is considered midrange, most PC combinations will greatly benefit from FSF and DLSS.
A PC with a 4070 at least can run this in 4k 60+ fps no problem. Ray tracing in this game doesnt seem to be that demanding if it even exists. If it does, dlss can put it over 60 fps easily.
Alright time to replay the first game but this time in 4k HDR. 😎
I stopped playing it on PS5 just so i can fully experience it for the first time at high framerates and also mouse, this franchise is a masterpiece, love them both, what a time to be alive.
Can't wait to play it with FSR 3 with mods, cause NVIDIA apparently doesn't care about RTX 20s and 30s.
And now RTX 3000 users also have frame generation with the help of a certain mod :)

Someone please explain to me why Aloy's face is so fat?🍔 I've been waiting for "Forbidden West" on PC, but due to the fact that the game developers disfigured my favorite heroine, I don't even want to buy the game!
My favorite PS5 game of all time. So well done. It's also the best looking console game so far. And I play on RTX 4080 and Series X as well. At the time of release it was the best looking game on any platform.

it is an artistic decision,
The game is designed for baked light and screen space reflections. Saves performence and works well with the art styles. I don't think decima Engine even supports pathtraicing at all. At least not right now. the first one and Death stranding didn't have it either i think. Most People probably wouldn't see the difference anyway, the developer decided to use the performence for other effects, such as volumetric clouds witch complement the art style.
@@merlindalkowski7607 It's probably not an artistic decision, but a work load decision, because implementing raytracing would be a lot of work. But from an artistic perspective, you can just slap in RT reflections without any negative impact. They do the same as cubemaps or screen space reflections, but infinitely better.
RT lighting has a bigger impact on the art though, so it works best when the game is designed with it in mind.
@@faultier1158 Yes, that's probably right! In addition, Sony certainly doesn't want the PC version to have any functions, the PS5 version doesn't have.
That would make the Ps look bad in comparison. Apart from that, the screenspace reflections/cubemaps in this game are so well done that you can almost mistake them for RT. So like you said why waste the development time on that...

This is one of best optimized game in 2024 release for PC... I get 70+ fps @1440p, DLSS Q, FG Off, Very high settings ( Except Texture with High setting) in my RTX 4060 Ti.. With FG on 90+ all time. Also The processor usage in this game is better than Zero Dawn.. My i5 12400f processor usage in this game is only 37% where as in zero dawn usage goes up to 60%

In fact, if they decide to not release on pc, I & I'm sure others just will never purchase.

This is a leak so take it with a grain of salt but an insider claimed that this will be nixxes most demanding port they’ve ever made so gg to anyone trying to run this game on anything that’s below a 4070.

@@siddhanthmv3675 Well, the PS5 *is* a lower end system, so any PC that's stronger than a PS5 (like a RTX 3060 plus a not super old CPU) should be able to run it at console-like settings.
It's a shame there is no raytracing for the PC version though
This is the ACTUAL release of the game in my book. The resolution at 30fps, basically no better looking than performance balance at 40fps & performance (to lower the beauty of this game) attempts at 60fps was annoying enough compromises that I sold the game..& eventually the ps5 for the same reasons. Unsure why a ps5 pro or something with no compromise can't be done but whatever, this isn't a console rant but kinda is...Anyway, buying this the single moment it's available. Big Horizon fan.

You see if you want to flatter the console gamers, don't bother showing off ridiculous mods where Disney Characters are fighting in Mortal Kombat. Show off the delicious graphic upgrades like these to familiar console games.
The video quality is quite poor and details look muddy. You can see the compression artifacts at 0:14. That's not UA-cam compression, that's the source video, as there are plenty of crystal clear 4k videos out there.
For a video meant to showcase how great a game looks, visible compression artifacts are a bit ???
