You know what I do when it's too tight for me to fit?! I wait behind them. Around here, if a driver sees me waiting, they often make room if the can. It's no big deal to make room and it's no big deal to wait behind them. Usually can get past them soon after the turn anyways.
@@DragonRiderProductions Exactly that. Here's the same: some make room, some don't. But if they don't and it's tight, I'd rather wait than squeeze in and risk hitting a mirror or scratching paintwork. It's not worth it, filling in insurance papers on the side of the road takes more time than waiting for one car to drive off.
He could have waited pointed towards an escape route, but he most definitely isn’t doing anything wrong by filtering. It’s safer not to be open to being rear ended even if no one is behind him right at that moment. Maybe y’all need to ride more, backseat bitching.
The pupose of riding gear is not so you can ride stupidly.

Drivers are then thinking: "Oh hey there is space I will fit there!" and they will use that space, if they're allowed or not.
So stay in the center of your lane.

Suzuki Rookie being just what he says he is, a rookie. He KNOWS ahead of time that he cannot fit between the two vehicles...... But tries to anyway. And then he has a hard time when it makes other drivers nervous. He needs to take a riding safety course. Zero experience and zero situational awareness. Obviously has never taken a course. I bought a new bike two years ago and took advantage of the free safety course offered with the purchase of the bike. 40 years riding and the feedback about my helmet got me to upgrade it, which (probably) saved my life. Suzuki Rookie needs to get out of his rookie state and get with the program.

Hi, that's me in that video. On my channel I've put down some context. Is not about who goes first, those traffic lights habe different timings, hers would have gone 30 seconds after mine. Plus , in the UK filtering is legal, my choice if i want or not, other people might not like it, that is theirs choice.

Not to mention that funnily enough you even lost a place by your manoeuvre as you had to go around the outside of the van who beat you at the start, allowing the Audi to pull through.

Target fixation is an issue for every start of the season for me. I have ridden mopeds and motorcycles for over 40 years, and still at the start of every season I have to re-teach myself that.
Why? Why would you stare at anything other than where you want to go?

I guess what I'm wondering is what your definition of "target fixation" is. People in the vids seem to attribute it to "you go where you look, so god forbid don't ever look at not where you're going or you'll careen off the road". In my years of riding, I've never had this phenomenon; and it's not something you can prove (is real) by making it happen on command. So, is "target fixation" maybe just "not paying attention", or a failure to be aware of your 360deg at all times? Some have actually told me that they went off the road because "that's where I was looking" , so how come I can do a 1 lane left u-turn while looking to my right?
IMO from what I've seen in these crashes, "target fixation" is just an excuse for poor riding people often use. So, that's why I'm asking you, another many-year rider, what you define as "target fixation".

@@jozinzbazin2222 yes but target fixation is what kills riders. Every time you see a rider here drives off the road is because he is fixated at the danger spot, and not looking where he is supposed to look. you have to train yourself to be good at it

@@ArminGrewe Did we watched the same clip? The oncoming biker was already over the intersection. They meat at the beginning when the dashcam tryed to enter the intersection..

@@alexanderjanke1538 the oncoming biker going across the intersection happened in less than a second. Too short for the cammer to process whose brain had probably already committed to turn left.
You are watching this with the benefit of hindsight, you know something is going to happen. The cammer didn't have that knowledge. I'm OK to give the cammer the benefit of doubt.

@@alexanderjanke1538 Maybe you know that road/junction and know more than me. But from the little I can see in that clip I can't be certain that the other biker was riding on the wrong side of the road before the junction. From the little I can see in that clip it could well be that the road was both ways after the junction and the oncoming biker just continued straight instead of turning right.
I've seen too many weird road layouts to exclude that possibility.

In terms of the second clip lane splitting is legal in the UK but you're not allowed to pass the vehicles at the front of a junction, so if there was a line of cars he could split until the van and red car but then should wait behind them

I think Enes Ersoy, the guy @ 1:05, missed the biggest lesson of all: don't drive a like a jackass. That's a public road, not a race course. You were going waaay faster than anyone else, far above the speed limit, and treating other people like they were obstacles. You are really lucky you didn't kill yourself or someone else. Dial it down - you're not Agostini, just some guy with more money and motorcycle than sense.

6:50 Good thing the car driver managed to spot him in time. It's not like the guy on the motorcycle could have noticed his turn signal while being in the guys blind spot.
The driver did not spot me, it was his sensor alarm going off (I know these cars). Also he was behind me at some point, then accelerating up the car in front, breaking hard and then decide to suddenly switch lane without checking mirrors or blind spot. He activated his turn signal only once and just the same second he decided to switch lane. Also if he had checked his mirror he would have spotted me. I was only in his blindspot when I decided to accelerate passed him. There is no way anyone could have reacted or foreseen that. The license plates belongs to a company that would not tell me the driver's name. They are reported to the police. I suspect drunk driving.

And he was driving like that prior if you watch the video = being too close to the trailer, breaking, gassing, breaking. horrible driver. also you can not predict what someone will do in traffic. It's easy to be after-smart since you already know what will happen

1:35 in the UK it's illegal to pass the vehicle at the front of a queue like that. Rule 165 "You MUST NOT overtake the nearest vehicle to a pedestrian crossing, especially when it has stopped to let pedestrians cross"

at 1:50 you have gone into her safety buffer. Yes, believe it or not, car driver have a safety buffer around their car as well. You've broken that, you've taken that away from her. She now can't safely and comfortably go when and where she wants, she has to wait for you to go. Yes, you can go quicker than her, but she still has to wait for you. That is the problem.
Imagine a Porsche or Tesla driver pulling up next to a poxy 125 the same way. Would you be happy with that? The Porsche or Tesla can easily outrun the 125, leave them for dust. No danger for the 125 rider, no problem for the 125 rider. Yet I expect most of them would be up in arms about that, for exactly the same reasons. Invading their safety buffer, restricting their ability to move off like they want to.

I let them filter past, I move to the side if I can on a wide country road so that they can pass me (even when I'm already going the speed limit). Reading comments like yours makes me rethink my attitude towards bikers. Maybe I should stop doing that. If bikers are as inconsiderate towards drivers and think they own the road and don't have to think about drivers, maybe it's time to stop being nice.
The biker at 7:30, there was no real risk to him. The driver was just moving past as the biker was leaving a massive gap to the car in front. Did the driver jump on to the bike? No. He was just slowly overtaking the biker in a wide lane. Perfectly safe. Plenty of space. Did nothing wrong. Left more space to the biker than the other biker left to the car. So why did he get so upset?

Cruiser riders like to stay together in a tight pack. They will take over the road to accomplish that goal.
