One Year on YouTube already!!!! My Year in Review

- I can't believe it's been a year already on UA-cam! It's been so much more fun and interesting that I ever anticipated. Over the year I've released nearly 60 videos, with my intent being to release at least 52.
The channel exploded to me in early June when I shared a simple OCF explanation video featuring Maddie...the same model as in this video.
I went from 800 subscribers in early June to now over 7,000. Amazing!
I'm looking forward to next year and all that it brings. I'll be releasing a Podcast too. You should be able to find it on UA-cam initially as well!
Thank you all so much for watching this year and I hope you choose to stick around for Year 2!!!
Congrats definitely one of the most instructive, senior portrait channels out there! Always look forward to new videos
Maddie is awesome Jason .. Keep up the fab video's
I found you a couple days ago and I've just been binging your videos. It's giving me motivation to get out there are start working with people. I've always been extremely shy and introverted so I've struggled with asking people to model for me. You showing your thought process and how you interact with your models has given me some confidence to get out there and ask people to model.
Thank you so much for your videos! I'm excited to see you grow your channel!
Thank you so much! So check this out. I would also consider…if you’re struggling to reach out to models…this still involves reaching out. But start building a group of models you can go to frequently. This will eventually lead to having a group that knows you and vise versa! That helps!
Jason you are an excellent photographer and teacher. I appreciate you content very much. I really like the fact that you use real people and are not using bikini models in your videos. You are helping me allot with my portrait work. I am primarily a sports photographer but I am really branching out into portrait work this year. So I thank you very much.
Great content. Found you when I searched for help with lighting. You’re in SA, too! Also, I know Maddy’s dad Mike. One of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
Oh awesome!!! Yes they are amazing people.
Always forward, my friend. You are truly creative and inspire many ❣❣💯💯
Thank you!
Congratulations my friend!!! Simple and amazing... Great job!!! You are an inspiration for a lot of photographers... Thanks for share! Regards from Spain!!
All the way from Spain! Awesome! Thank you!
I really appreciate your live shoots - you get right down to it, with a good balance of showing the process & sharing the edited photos. I've tried watching many other photographer's portrait youtubes and honestly most are irritating - too much talk & not enough action. I'm looking forward to what you will produce in 2024 - congratulations!
Thank you! I love getting to do the channel!
Loving all your video! Thank you
Great job, Jason! 👍Congratulations!
Thank you!
Congrats on 1 year! I'm excited to see what the good Lord has in store for you! Great work on this video! Loved the trees as leading lines. Maddie did great!
Thank you! She’s awesome!
Well deserved growth on your channel. Always look forward to seeing your work.
Thank you!
congrats, ive been watching you for about 5 months now and its always inspiring to watch you work
Thank you! I love what I do and have really enjoyed the channel!
Jason you’re an inspiration! Keep logging! Can’t wait for the new content
Thank you!
Great video as always. As I’ve told you before, you are my inspiration. I’ve recently bought the AD200 off your recommendation and I’m working on learning that. Thanks for your help with everything.
It has been great to see your consistency and educational content. It flows nicely and it's well-put-together!
Thanks Brian!
Thank you for this great year, hope 2024 will be an even better year!
Keep up the great work, love your style and your models deliver great work too.
Thank you. Yes I’m truly blessed to work with some amazing people!
I started my photography journey over a year ago and I found your channel shortly after I started....LOVE THE VIDEOS and the instructional content is top notch. Your videos are easy and fun to watch. I cannot wait to see what 2024 holds for you and actually inspires me to start my own youtube channel.
I just discovered this channel. Keep up the great work! You definitely have an eye for photos. I look forward to seeing you continue to grow!
Thank you!
Congratulations on your first year of UA-cam. Best wishes in this coming year. Be safe.
Thank you!
Great job and awesome year, enjoying the way you come across, generally a nice guy. We'll done to you 👍
Thank you!
Your work has been amazing this year! You’re growth has been an inspiration and you’re doing an amazing job. cheers to another year of growth
Thank you!
Congratulations! Just found the channel today (3.27.24) and liking the content. Great results with straight forward gear and explanations. Keep up the good work! I am admiring your wheeled base for the c-stand. Can you provide the link? Thanks!
I like you because you are a photographer who also posts UA-cam videos about what you do. Unlike others who are UA-camrs that do some photography. Just keep photography as your main focus (and not UA-cam) and I will keep watching.
That’s the plan! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! Love your work!
Congrats on 1 year. Amazing growth in a short amount of time.
Thank you!
Posing 💯. Congrats on the growth.
Thank you!
Keep it up Jason! Love it!
Thank you!
Congratulations! You put out great content keep it up, don't switch to being the review guy please like everyone else!!! Keep teaching and showing like you are and I think you'll grow as much as you want to
Haha. Definitely. I do like getting new toys to review. So that’s fun, but I much prefer shooting!
Congratulations on you 1st year anniversary!!
Thank you!
Luv your videos. Try Attending Shutter Fest. luv to meet ya there.
Sounds fun!
Congrats on your success. Good Stuff. Really interested in a podcast! Keep us posted!
Fantastiskt. The Chanel is realy Nice and I love your style. Knep it up. If it is possible, it wpuld be fun to see your Flash power. A happy new year from sweden.
Thank you!
The flash power. In some older videos I was adding it, but it will vary so much from user to user that it just doesn’t make sense for me to add it.
Depending on flash power, distance from subject, size of softbox, and so much more. Thats why I decided to start leaving it out.
Congrats!!
Love your videos. Great information and content. On your softbox, does it have a white or silver liner? If you use both, would you do a video on which one you prefer and why?
I use the silver. I just like the look
Thank you!!!
Congrats on the growth! Good idea with bringing back the model who blew up the channel.
I actually like that you don’t have a lot of cinematic b-roll. That can get distracting and overly long quickly. Focusing on the teaching then demonstrating by shooting is where it’s at.
I’d love to know what was that wheeled base thing you used to move the c-stand around? C-stands are great for stability but are a pain to move on location. So it was cool to see you roll one around so easily.
They are NEEWER brand which I bought on Amazon.
@@J.Allen_Photography Thank you! Will check it out.
Looks it’s called a Neewer tripod dolly.
@@MarcusSortijas just be sure it’s wheels are large. There are cheaper versions with smaller wheels. Those cause a lot of vibration. Not good for the light and bulb
Congratulations on an amazing year✨️! Shout out to the video videographer for her efforts to block out the bike rider who should've just gone around from the start 🙃.
Haha. Yeah. She just hung out.
I just subscribed. Your year anniversary is my starting point 🙏🏿💪🏿
Do it!!!
@@J.Allen_Photography I have my godox tt600 and kit coming from Amazon today.
Awesome channel and hope all the best for you! One thing that would be nice to add to your videos is flash power settings when you show your camera settings.
Thanks for watching! Yeah I used to add the flash power, but it will vary so much for other people depending on so many factors, that I started leaving it out.
Maybe I can show that sometime and why it varies.
Congrats on the anniversary!
Thank you!
Love ur videos! Keep it up ❤🎉
Thank you!
Love it all Jason, keep going I want to do some BTS Stuff but I find it hard to do it all on my own just like you and the Pod Cast could be good so I look forward to more information on that venture as well and I will also try and get something going this year over here in the UK
Love getting comments from people overseas! How awesome!
Thanks for watching. I’m looking forward to the podcast. I think it will be fun!

Karen was back there calling the cops on you...
Whoever is gonna marry her...is the luckiest bastard on earth 😊
Seriously .... 1,2,3 ... click .... really? very very unprofessional and off putting for models .....
I’ll be sure not to use you as a model then! Thanks for leaving a comment!
Yea, I think 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and click is more professional. 😅 Good job!!
