  • Maxxum 5250 Issues Fixed????
    Finally got the hydraulic oil filter light, rear remote leak, and air conditioning fixed- sort of. Follow along in this video as I show some previous video clips as the tractor broke down, the steps I took to try to figure out the source of the issues, and finally what repairs were made. Thanks for watching!

    Great repairs and tractor, runs great for the hours on it, thanks for sharing Chris

      Thank you Jan! I think it will be a great tractor. Those Cummins engines last a long time, and the rest of the tractor seems to be ok 👌

    Man yeah, got it fixed up and back out working! I like that you changed both possible issues , better safe than sorry!! I like the disc scrapers!! Hope the ac holds up till you can look into it further! Regardless of a few issues, that's still a nice tractor!! Thank you for bringing us along, look fwd to more my friend!

      It's a work in progress, but overall it's going to be a great tractor. I prefer to change any parts, especially inexpensive ones, if there is a chance they could be causing a problem. Thanks for watching 🙂

    Glad you got the hydraulic issues fixed. You may need to get some A/C dye to add to the system to find a leak. Yep, 10K hours & setting for a period of time, little things are going to come up. Keep up the good work there Chris. Take care.

      I don't know much about ac systems, so I really appreciate the advice about putting dye in the system. If it leaks down again, I will definitely add some. Thanks Ron!

    Good job getting it all taken care of! Being a mechanical guy saves you thousands every year. Could you imagine doing this and having to pay the dealer every time a problem comes up? Ha ha. Nice clean looking Maxxum Chris!

    Just wanted to say you might put a piece of rubber flex conduit on the wires going to the sensor. Like you I've used 3m electrical tape to protect wires but since I have found out you can get flexible conduit from 1/4" upto 3/4" at the part store I have multiple sizes and lengths on hand. Also handy for trailer light wiring harnesses. Have a great weekend Chris, good to see the Case/Maxim back in service bet you appreciate the cab and A/C.

      I think I got lucky, if that's such a thing for me this year 😂 Since I have changed the sensor and fixed the wire, I have put quite a few hours on the tractor with no more issues.

    Have you ever had problems where your 5250 only had reverse? Now ours doesn't want to move in forward or reverse. It seems like the tractor is trying to move, but almost like the clutches are slipping...

  • @nathanj9350
    @nathanj9350 3 роки тому

    Interesting! Is the 5250 the last one before they went to the 135? I think I saw one square baling hay but instead the exhaust went to the cab post instead of the middle. I knew it wasn’t their mx135 that they usually bale with but had the older front grille.

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  3 роки тому

      Yes, the Maxxum 5200 series was right before they updated to the MX series. Both are good tractors 🙂

    I recently found a 5250 2WD with 6k hours, and I been seriously considering buying it.
    It will be my first tractor ever if I purchase it. My question is, would you consider this a good buy( good tractor). I will appreciate any information i can obtained.
    Thanks in advance

    Sensors do mess up... We've had plenty of issues with them. Didn't used to have them, so if everything is working properly, generally it's not a big deal.

    Just put black tape over all those dummy lights. You’ll know when something is wrong when you notice a burning smell or see smoke or if the tractor just stops.
