I feel honoured to have been in my teens when this was out , also feel sad that in what seems like a blink of an eye a big chunk of life has gone 😢
I know the feeling.
Always painful, a lament to youth gone!
relax & connect to your heart again - nothing is gone . These songs just bring me back to 1985 when i saw Lloyd Cole live .....and feeling alive ....happy to be who i am in 2022 . Remember , its your ego who thinks u have lost your youth ...but actually , if u truly wanted to be back in those times , u would know its possible ....so go for it or lament - Your choice
@@BlueHopi144 you cannot re recreate the past and be young again no matter how hard you try and convince yourself you can, the excitement and endless optimism, naivety and novelty of youth are gone forever, time stands still for no man!
@@streetcleaning711 You can get back to your best feelings and cleanse the body deeply _ u have just never put in the deep work & experienced profound consciousness shifts . Why ? because of your ego limitations , attachments to false concepts sold by society / TV News / your siblings . WHAT about the SOUL infusing ? have u experienced how amazing that process feels like ? probably not ...or not yet . I do not re-create the past ( misunderstanding by your mind ) , i practice a specific Yoga that brings back some of the easy flowing feelings ( from the heart and from the body too ) i experienced when i was 14 /17 /19 / 25 or 29 years old . I know it's possible because i live it every day . Do you know the real power of ancient yogic practices ? i am not talking about the gymnastic like yoga so many spread on their yutube channels that feels really limited and identified only with the body's health ....but the Real Profound alchemical practices & philosophy . Never tasted it ? u should give it a try .....it could change your life around within 2,3 years . I could help u get a taste of it .... 🙏Namaste
Confession: I might have teared up with joy when Lloyd performed this a couple of weeks ago in Paris...
Which means you have great musical taste, and a soul.
Massively underappreciated artist and band
Brilliant song by an artist whose talent with the English language & music combined make for a simply sublime experience,we need more people like Lloyd Cole in this world !!!
Scottish language
@@iain4456 English Scottish
"And she's sexually enlightened by cosmopolitan" is one of the greatest lyrics of all time. I've let it run through my mind many times over the years when I met a girl who was...well.
I love the "cheekbones like Geometry" line.
Always incredible lyrics
yeah it really is
Always thank you to Great Britain and the British people for giving the rest of the World hundreds of unforgettable bands and music of unparalleled beauty.
Benedetto Bruno Your welcome mate
Our pleasure
You're so right ! English bands the best !!!!
@@78jef13 get it right jef they're from Glasgow 😂
@@deerhunter2218 as far as I know Scotland is part of great Britain you moron :D
After listening to this, you realise that he has a brightness. He has an intelligence of a certain kind.
I was just thinking 'Aah, another aspergers musician', I could be wrong, but it'd explain the intelligence, & why he feels likeable..
Define " intelligence of a certain kind " ?
I ve met him when I was workind at EMI. Very bright.
He built a website apparently.
@@patriciaakts Had the pleasure of meeting him at a charity do once. He was surprisingly down to earth, and VERY funny.
Why O Why can we not produce bands as talented as these anymore. I blame television
Teaching myself Macromedia Flash with this on! Class xx
Still brilliant and fresh after all these years, I'm transported back to great times.
The album with the empty swimming pool is the CD I have. I just can't believe Lloyd Cole & The Commotion don't have any air time on any of the classics radio stations these days, I guess great taste went out of style these past 15 years!!
Great music ,Lloyd Cole and the commotions ,Lloyd Coles voice was so smooth.
Great artist for sure 😊
Took this album to Australia in 86.
My antipodean family just loved this, as did I.😉❤❤❤
Taking a risk , I haven't heard this song for a long time.
Forever ❤️💏👍
A typical 80's song-timeless and brilliant.
Fell in love with a girl named Louise in 1985. She had perfect skin. She *was* this song.
Essa banda ficará para sempre na minha vida e não tem como você cansar de ouvir eternas
just met lloyd his mum dad and son in a bar in the west of ireland 2 hours ago. beautiful people.

Aw wow, good stuff :)
I used to have Lloyd Cole posters in my teenage bedroom...he was very cute! 😎😻
I was 17 and in France for summer holiday. This came out and was just magical.
Fabulous voice such a cool band x
Superb. Still sounds fresh.👌
I remember when this song came out, time is such a cruel thief
One of the best songs of the 80's.
Music was so much better back then. I mean seriously today's music; tuneless, soulless, emotionless, generic, repetitive, predictable, depressingly bad.
so serious video
I love that one note solo. It's up there with 'I can see for miles'.
i used to know a man who looked just like lloyd cole did here and i miss him dearly!
I forgot about this band and I forgot how good they were and they bring back great memories
Fantastic song and wonderful 80s sound. Lloyd's voice and clever lyrics complement the catchy and crisp guitar sounds perfectly. Their breakthrough hit ; deserved to chart a lot higher than Number 26 in the UK. I love 'Lost Weekend' too.
Loyd Cole reminds me a bit of Morrissey. I'll probably be hounded out of existence for Sayin Such a Thing!
Lloyd was one good looking guy back in the day 😎
Always a fan. Perfec5 songs. The guitarist must be a genius together with Loyd. All of them
I found him in 83 and he still follows me even his solo thing
a little Big star, a little Television, a little Elvis, great lyrics, what can go wrong
Eram muito simpáticos.
I remember now my childhood. So many memorys from this song.
All the sixth form boys at the boys grammar school were aspiring Lloyd Cole’s in the mid to late 80s. And I was smitten by the arty boys❤️😂
That guitar riff mid song 🎵 class rattlesnakes amazing album
Classic!!!
Perfect band!.
remember going to the golan heights with rattlesnakes on my walkman. Magnificent
three minutes of absolute magic.
A perfect and intelligent pop song....
so true a real class act to say the lest
This album tuned my ears into proper music, the 80s was so diverse so I could of easily missed it. But thankfully I heard rattlesnakes and I had to get the album. Which by the way for me had a full albums of no 1s. Forest fire and 2cc being may favourites. This vinyl was on continuous play on my little deca 45. Then I got big country vinyl which was equally amazing then I got sledge hammer roughly all about the same time, and still I can't split them
✨
I'm really thinking and believing that's the Best First Album in the Music History
... I mean in all kinds : Rock, Jazz, Blues ...
That's a Miracle ... perfect ... just perfect !
How can it be ?
This Album sounds like a Revelation ...
All is perfect ... forever ...
Bravooo Maestro Lloyd Cole,
With admiration

Just ordered a rattlesnakes re-release from a local Glasgow record store.
Catching up with some of my past vinyl collection.
Great music like this filtered through the two-tone/talking heads vibe I was on at the time.
Wow - us alternatives loved Lloyd Cole in the early 80s - a lot of mix tapes floating around lol. Also, another band called Blue Nile I believe.
I love it so much❤
This song is integral to my appreciation of music!
As a teenager stuck in a rural town... I was incredibly lucky to have grown up with songs that challenge you... Smokin' 🔥
Qu il était beau c est toujours bien !!!! 💜💜💜💜💞💖
Just an amazingly simple, yet well written song that still sounds just as good now compared to when first released.
It was the perfect pop song too. Masterful.
Perfect pop.
Thanks for this beautiful music 🎵♥️
Those guitars at 2:06 get me every time
Cool witty lyrics beautifully crafted pop song
Love the song style and voice
the moral of this song is that there never has been one...

Sommer, 2020 und so eine Musik, herrlich.
Beautiful artistry
Great song, one of the best of the eighties.
Happy birthday Lloyd!
Love this band. Wallways as a DJ, play in clubs in 80s.
Brilliant and Fresh
Unforgettable song
They made great music and were so much of the eighties takes me back to great times and when everything didn’t hurt when I wake up in the morning like it does now
A fantastic group the music gets into your skin!!!!
Lloyd never desapointed us.
I love major 7 chords, so I love 80's guitar pop.
this song is a perfect tuned blissful feeling!xx he sounds so lovely.xxxdebbie o
I can remember being on a car journey to Aberdeen and heard thus incredible song,Lloyd Cole's voice lends itself to perfect lyrics too.
always liked it when he sang the live, the last line was turned into "the moral of this song is that we need another government"
Cracking lyrics by Lloyd and the bass guitar in the background the accoustics at the front melody complete intelligence from a great band
rattlesnakes, the album, is a masterpiece.
Ich liebe den Song und alles was danach kommt auf dem Album.
I came here after the tragic death of the band "hers".
Trying to think who the lead singers voice reminded me of.
Then it came to me Lloyd Cole! R.I.P
top lyrics, and I 57 years young now. re- discovered this 20 mins ago . It is still , total class.
and I wish I knew that
Long time ago, pop was music.
Great Song, love this
2021
Esos pantalones blancos con ese “sweater” negro, esa piel pálida y esa música irreemplazable. Todo aquello me volvía loco. Cómo amé a Lloyd Cole y como extraño los 80.
.
So brilliant
Incredible! Great lloyd cole!
Fantastic song brilliant band
Sums it up really
Their first hit,in July 1984. Reminds me of pub evenings back then.
Tempus fugit - but those youth sounds stays with us until we die or dement in oblivion. But the songs, our songs will never die.
Been hearing this at work thinking it's Billy Idol! 😂 He sounds just like him lol
you're not wrong! Never clocked that before...
Top tune , listening in lockdown 2020!😷😷Stay safe x

Remember first hearing this on the radio just as it came out, sounds even better now!
one of my favorites song!
Awesome 80s, love this band xx
Perfect song.
1984, the best year ever for music.
this video makes me think of a brilliant line in dylans " it's alright ma im only bleeding " ....."but I mean no harm nor put fault on anyone who lives in a vault " that aside a classic song on a great album -which I loved in the early eighties .
Deanne Ward, this song sums you up in everyway gorgeous.
Very underrated
Supporting the Pogues in a bull ring in France 1986
