The unused Baiken lines are so interesting what the hell. Are they implying that Baiken is the only one capable of understanding Happy Chaos and that's why he hates fighting her? Because she can see through his facade and maybe "save him" as she says?
I think it has to do with how Happy Chaos works, while he might be insane now, at the end of the day, he used to be a person who's greatest desire was to help humanity, and despite everything that happened to him make him insane, he still believes in helping humanity, it's just that, his perspective of humanity, life and reality as whole got messed up along with his sense of self, so his definition of the humanity he wants to help has changed. I think the reason he fears Baiken isn't because she'd kill him, because he's, well, immortal, and very well aware that he is so. What he fears is not consequences of his actions towards himself, what he fears is probably the consequences his actions have towards others. Baiken is one of the many that was impacted terribly by Happy Chaos' actions when he was possessing people during the crusades, Baiken however lived and chose to suffer through all that to get revenge on him. And according to himself, he doesn't actually like to see people suffer, in fact if anything, he only really wants people to struggle so they can become stronger and better people. So seeing someone like Baiken, who undeniably suffered directly of his actions, not as a side effect or anything like that, but someone whom he directly killed the family of, forces him to realize the weight of his actions, which is something he can't accept as someone without a self, as if he does, that would mean accepting that there is still some sanity left in him and force him to realize just how many people he has hurt and/ or wronged in his attempt to "help humanity". TL:DR Baiken makes Chaos remember all the terrible things he has done and forces self-reflection, reminding him of the selfless person he once was that wanted to do everything he could to help people when he was still sane, something he is not supposed to be able to do as someone "without a self", this causes him a lot of guilt and fear in realizing what he has done.

I think the idea is that he’s nothingness personified or he doesn’t have a self if that makes sense. Memories and feelings are attachment so if he’s constantly losing those he remains nothing and unbiased. I think they are going more for that angle than an actual logical coping mechanism.
Yeah I think they make it pretty obvious he’s scared of himself which is interesting. There’s a lot that could mean but I haven’t even unpacked it lol. Definitely some mystery figure pulling the strings who they’ve been teasing through some of these lines.
To clear up some confusion about Happy Chaos' deal with Baiken... Baiken had become a "Mirror", something that has become transcendent and fights with her basically become a battle of self reflection... Something Happy is NOT keen on, as his reflection is just insanity. Happy Chaos' win quote dealt with fear, as he probably fears the thing he's become, a man who searched for the answer to life, and found it, and decided to forget it in pursuit of giving meaning to life for other people.
It's not fear. It's more so Baiken has no drama, and that annoys HC not to mention her theme being the mirror of the world and HC hates seeing what he has become, which is why his spacegoats don't look at him eye to eye but to an opposite direction because he hates looking at himself
before watching this i really couldn't imagine baiken of all people to be able to match chaos on the existential philosophical ranting but she does it well
Well they are the two faces of enlightenment. They understand each other better than anybody else, definetelly my two favourite characters in Guilty Gear alongside Testament
Now THIS is what I live for. Unique interactions that flesh out the characters! Good Sh!t mate. Also, I believe two of Baiken's quotes are in the game now as taunts: I couldn't tell you which one since I don't in English; however, I've noticed it due to the speech and gesture combo didn't exist prior to this recent update. Once again though, good stuff getting these voice lines! o7
Baiken having so many unused lines, and their length, almost makes me think she might've had some sort of Arcade mode thing planned. No clue how that would've worked, but I can't think of any other reason why she has all that dialogue. I mean it very much sounds like there's some sort of consistent thread of story in there, not just end of round banter. Or Daisuke just really couldn't decide on what lines she should say, so instead he made a million to pick from.
It's pretty easy if you have a PC with Strive on it! The youtuber "Aerthas Veras" has some tutorial videos on how to rip the models from strive, I used that to learn how to get into the game files.
I love Delilah's lines because she just seems so done with chaos and disgusted by him rather than actually hating him anymore
