Cuánto me alegro de que Scotty escribiese sus memorias en libros, un tesoro para la eternidad. La pena es que en España no las encuentro😔

Sad that Gail died just 3 months later with stomach cancer. A lovely lady!

Not the same guitar in the old pic

The guitar in the pic they show is Scotty's Gibson L5 which he had from July of 1955, til sometime in early 1957. This guitar is Scotty's Gibson ES-295 that he had from sometime in 1953 until July of 1955.

Gene Klein seemed like a good loyal friend of Elvis from High School. Too bad he couldn’t save him or help him. He tried but didn’t know what to do and Elvis didn’t listen to anyone anyway so it wouldn’t have made any difference.
I blame the Colonel and Dr. Nick for Elvis downfall the most. They kept him drugged up. And ultimately it was Elvis himself who didn’t wake up in time to change and save himself. He was too far gone! He should have fired the Colonel and went into a detox center but back then they didn’t even have that! I don’t think the Betty Ford Clinic existed yet either! There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting help to get rid of an addiction that’s killing you and destroying your life. That was a novel concept back then! The Betty Ford Clinic did good work in helping people who were addicted to alcohol. Which can be every bit as bad an addiction as any other drug. I had a friend who was a binge drinker! It was sick how much he could drink in a night and I saw him drooling outside from the effects of alcohol and his over drinking. It was a very unpleasant sight and hard to deal with! I moved away and don’t know if he stopped drinking. I lost contact with him and if he didn’t quit, he’s probably dead now. What saddens me is his fiancé left him because of the drinking and he was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. Very sweet and decent guy who never tried to do anything underhanded to anyone. All around good person with a good sense of humor but he had a serious problem which is probably resolved now one way or another. I hope he quit and survived but I’m not sure. Some people can’t be saved. They just refuse any help.

Elvis was a grown man. The only one to change Elvis was Elvis.

Read JD Sumner take on all this. I just read an interview (don't remember where or what website) where JD talks about this.
