I manage my SMSF, 50% in commercial property and 50% in ASX simply buy and hold. Not the best I know but the balance increase around 8% past few years anyway.

Vas/Vgs/Vgad/Vism. Easy peasy. Bonds and cash products offered to Aus are lousy. Backtest it.
