- What is #RSSI, #RSRP, #RSRQ and #SINR - Dr Andre Fourie
RSSI - Received Signal Strength Indicator
RSRP - Reference Signal Received Power
RSRQ - Reference Signal Received Quality
SINR - signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio
SNIR - Signal-to-noise-plus-interference ratio
SNR - Signal to Noise Ratio.

Poynting is a top global provider of integrated antenna solutions, responsible for the innovation, design and manufacture of its market-leading products. Established as a consultancy in 1990, Poynting evolved into an official PTY in 1997 and in 2001 established Poynting Antennas. Poynting supplies antenna solutions for primarily wireless high-speed data applications. We provide solutions for 3G/4G and LTE, GPS and GLONASS, IoT Lora and SigFOx as well as RFID and WIFI.
Our antennas are used in residential, automotive, industrial and IoT solutions. We also have specialised antenna solutions for the marine, mining and tunnelling markets. This UA-cam channel showcases Poynting Antennas' products and technical knowledge. You will find a selection of RF (Radio Frequency) or EM (Electromagnetic Engineering) FAQ with their answers. We regularly show you our latest antenna releases with unboxing videos. Where possible we do internet speed tests where we show how the speed of your Broadband 3G or LTE connection increases by fitting a Poynting outdoor antenna to your router. Do you want to get more into the detail of our antennas and RF or antennas in general? Have a look at our webinars - A guide to antenna implementation & considerations and Getting to the Poynt - Antenna specification minefield.
Poynting innovates, designs and manufactures integrated antennas solutions primarily for wireless high-speed data applications such as 4G LTE residential as well as B2B, antenna solutions for GSM, M2M, DTV (digital TV) and other CPE applications within the telecommunication, broadcast and consumer market.

Thank you for the clear explanation and advice.
I get useable internet for browsing with an RSRI of 115 and RSRQ 15 on 4G, I don't suppose then 100 is quite the Cell edge? unless my Cellmapper app isn't reporting the right values?
Good morning. RSRP at -115dBi is still usable, but to a certain extend. The table for acceptable values is shown at 00:54 on the video. So the signal for this particular viewer, given the values he provided, still is considered usable as it's not weaker than -120dBi. Thanks.
Hello doctor, please, I have a user moving inside the cell and I need to calculate the RSRP for the serving cell and the neighboring cells for each time period. What is the appropriate mathematical equation for this? Thank you very much.
