Shame the building couldn't have been de-constructed to salvage a lot of the bricks, studs and joists, along with other interior wood work like the hardwood flooring and even the wall laths - as long as there had been no water damage from a failing roof. Some blocks of old rowhouses in nearby Baltimore have been taken down that way, and they had no problem finding buyers for the salvaged material. Just about everything is wasted and becomes landfill doing a demo as was done to this neat old school building.😞
Unfortunately, I had to stop at another demolition site on the way to Adamstown. The delay was long enough for them to take down the remainder of the west side of the school before I arrived. I considered not posting a Part 3, but thought some people might have some interest in seeing the pavilion in back come down.
Do you know when this school was built? I did a lot of research but couldn't find anything other than this was the "old elementary school". The inside looked like it was from the 20's or early 30s. The outside also looked from the 20's or early 30's. Segregation was happening there until the "new school" was opened in 1965 and this one was closed down. I'm wondering if this is the reason there is no details of this school.

You missed the rest of the main building coming down, all he was doing was moving stuff from one place to another!
