The main thing we love about that particular GPS (It's designed for RV use), is that you can input your RV's height, width and weight and it won't take you down any roads you shouldn't be on. For example, it will keep you from trying to go under a bridge that is not tall enough for you.

I know you guys are excited about the bears, but I’m a little worried about you two. A mama bear with cubs as I’m sure you know can be super protective and defensive. And also with you cooking and storing food, could be tempting for a bear. Just please STAY SAFE and be smart. I don’t think the bears got the memo that there are new owners of that beautiful property lol. Take good care
Never heard of torching the weeds! Even with dead roots, I think the weeds come back as seeds drift over from the fields or lawns around gravel drives. Mine return every year.
Before we torch our weeds popping up through the gravel, we spray/douse white vinegar on them. This kills the roots and makes the torching easier. It also is safer for the ground water supply and wildlife. This works best if you can use the vinegar on a sunny, non-rainly day to get maximum killing strength. This has been a wet, cool late spring in the northwest (northwet), with a few days having a daily high of only 52F - we're near Olympia WA. All the best with your new property.
@@MountainBeaches Definietly full strength - we buy the gallon jugs of white vinegar and have a small pressure spray bottle to dispense - the weeds you have in the gravel should shrivel up nicely by the next day if you spray early in a sunny morning. Vinegar also removes moss.

At our home in CA, we were 2 miles from pavement, inclines, declines, narrow and windy....just to get to the driveway! We found out that leaving some vegetation on the road helped keep our gravel on the road. You'll likely need to use a grader behind a tractor or your truck, and that helps to slim them off while letting them root and be helpful. Looks so lovely there, guys, very cool!!
Your new property looks just amazing! I am sure it will be a great place to “recharge”. When you need a break from traveling. What a fun project it will be! We can hardly wait to see what you make of it.
Will you eventually have electricity? Is burning the weeds better than using weed killer? I think you mentioned that there is a well there, will you be able to get water into your mobile home? Do you plan to fence in the property in the future?

Question, is burning off the weeds more effective that spraying weed killer? We have been vacationing in Idaho for 14 days and yes rain about 9 of those days but still very enjoyable.
I'm recently retired and I have an RV that's only 26 ft. I'm unfamiliar with Idaho, visited three times and love the area especially where it's north and cold. I would dearly love to have a small piece of property, not something as large as yours but something that I could go to or reside at. My issue is that most Idahoans apparently do not like Californians, and I am not a typical California as I'm conservative. I was curious how long you can reside in an RV on your property because most property regulations that govern insist that you build a house immediately, and no less than 600 square feet. How difficult was it to secure a property? Any suggestions for those who might be interested in purchasing property in this state? I ❤️ the rain and I consider it fortunate, which is why Idaho is so beautiful and green. I tire of 365 days of sunshine and VERY tired of heat!
Idaho geography varies quite a bit from south to north. The southern part is much dryer. I'm sure the codes vary from county to county but in the county we are in, we could live in our RV full time on our property if we wanted without issue. The building codes are very minimal. Because of the conservative politics in Idaho, many people have been flocking to the state causing the property values to rise. One thing we did was to decide on a general area we were interested in and then daily we would check realtor.com to see what new was available. It takes a lot of time but paid off for us. Best of luck on your journey.
