Jim is just Holy, what an incredible soul and mind. Love all his body of work, i love when he has a lovely short talk in "Smoke" 1995 ( by Paul Auster and Wayne Wang ) inside the cigarrete shop, with the great Harvey Keitel. Coffee and Cigarretes is a masterpiece if you think about it...also, Ghost Dog, so amazing! There is zero space for bad or shallow work from him. ❤Jim.

This was great. So many nuggets, ideas or experiences I related to: Embracing mistakes.....Trusting your instincts...making the film in the editing room...the impossibility of seeing your film as a new discovery when you're the maker....He also just seems like a really humble and thoughtful guy. Thanks for uploading this. Wish I'd gotten tix while he was here! (I tried, but too late. Lesson learned!)
That was a magical week here in Bloomington. His appearances provided me with a totally different impression of him than I had held previously. A great body of work and what a kind person!
A true master of his craft. I really enjoyed his new dark comedy starring Bill Murray that carries on the horror film tradition with many interesting twists.
Just watched Mystery Train for the first time, brilliant, enchanting movie. I'd seen Dead Man, Ghost Dog and Broken Flowers, but I'm going to have to go watch all his early films now, might be my new favourite filmmaker! Wish there were more like him, in his originality and execution I mean.
Does anybody know why we like his movies so much? I can't put a finger on it but he just 'seems' to wrap the characters around you. I love their slow speed perhaps because it allows me to really get into the experience. I dunno what it is but they are just so fun to watch.
Jim, Aki & Wes walk into a bar. The barwoman pours three precise measures of liquid onto the bar. They are out of glasses. A jukebox suddenly breaks into life. The records play a conversation they've already had. Suddenly the Fonz waltzes in and whacks the jukebox. Music erupts as Jim, Aki & Wes start a slo-mo barfight where no blow is landed.
Can you help me? Yeah you can start by getting me 15 pieces of chicken motherfucker! Mix it up....yeah yeah yeah..i want crispy,fried...mix it up. I want 6 pieces of corn, onion rings, you got any root beer man?
Jim Jarmusch seems like a Jim Jarmusch character
Amazing observation.
A sure sign of a writer-director who makes very personal films.
This man is the crown jewel of modern arthouse independent cinema. Hes on my mount rushmore of filmmakers

That was a fantastic retrospective montage done in the first 30 seconds. Really well done.
Jim Jarmush is like an David Lynch- like character on a motorcycle road trip crisscrossing America
I love this channel, and am surprised that I just discovered it!

That moment he mentions William Blake immediately takes me back to Johnny Depp's face
Watching this high is so enlightening.

Night on Earth is one of my favourites.
@@Carmel明慧 yeah, I thought that looked interesting as well :)
Jarmusch is an excellent artist.
Thanks for this video. JJ is my soul mate.

Claire Denis, Jean Luc Godard... he met them personally in Paris while filming his debut movie.
This is great - thank you for sharing your thoughts.

This man is a tower of intelligence and goodness. What a humble master. ❤️🔥
he kinda sounds like Adam Driver
You mean Adam Driver sounds like Jim Jarmusch?
You are extremely invaluable to me, Jim. Thank you.
When the first words of this video are 'David Lynch', you know it's going to be a good video.
Except Jarmusch is infinitely better than Lynch
@@ap6160 a very close second, in my humble opinion.
ay papi Jim i love u
does anybody know what song plays in the beginning? it kinda sounds like something Jim would do with SQÜRL, but i can't recognise or shazam it...

It's the characters and dialog but of course, it has to be a good story
A certain kind of cool .
The cosmos of Tom Waits,
John Lurie, Nick Cave,
Johnny Depp, Screamin' Jay Hawkins.,
Wim Wenders, Tilda Swindon etc . ♡
@@ritahorvath8207 I am a huge Hiddleston fan a Swinton as well. But for me, Murray and Driver together was just classic.

He’s a bad ass.
Not a single dislike
Jarmusch….. much better than the Coen’s and all the other
he should use Benicio Deltoro for is next
Can't believe he didn't mention Sara Driver as a person who inspired him.
I missed Wim Wenders .
.
How are you, right now? While i'am asking.
I wonder what Jim does when he’s not making films? Also he seems to never age. He looks exactly as he did 25 years ago LOL. Hey that’s not bad
I guess he has been mostly sober and a vegetarian since the 80’s
