@@cactaceous I knew. That's why I'm sorry about that. What potential in songs. George simply lost the feel for live concerts. same as John. Look at Paul or the Stones. Band have to perform a lot..
@@VoxMax1200 Well, they can perform live all they want but the Stones have not been truly relevant or good as songwriters in 40 years and McCartney’s entire solo career has been abysmal and commercially driven drivel.
@@emanuelebelle3943 Agreed,he struggled a lot to complete songs but once completed ,he grew into a great writer. John and Paul had more natural of a gift.
I've always loved that lead-segment. Pure Harrison - as frenetic as needed, completely tasty, completely crisp and perfect. How in the world anyone on stage can NOT sing is beyond me.
Conan is such a card! He actually sounded pretty good. George was always my favorite Beatle. The drummer on here is cute. Ok, that is my assessment of this video. 😊
Old brow shoes, here comes the sun, something ...all 3 songs in the same year ! Wow George was really at his best in 1969 ...and not so long time and is arrived All things must pass (1970). Great musician.
Sorry, but you're wrong... it's all George creation. First he played that riff in his guitar while rehearsing. Then he duplicated those lines playing bass in the recording. 1987 George Harrison's words.
It's satisfying to play a challenging song live. Conan almost missed the chord in coming into the third verse, but he recovered nicely. "Old Brown Shoe" is a hugely underrated Beatles song. George was the best song writer of the three main Beatles from mid 1969 to 1971 or so. Although Ringo had the most hits!
John was still the best of the three but George’s All Things Must Pass is probably the best all around post Beatles album of the main three. I’m not a fan of post Revolver McCartney and think his solo career is abysmal.
@@cactaceousThis is your second comment about Macca being "abysmal". Look, Paul has put out plenty of 💩, I find him extremely frustrating. But give credit where credit is due. There is nothing abysmal about Band on the Run, Ram or McCartney III. As far as post Revolver Beatles, for every turd like "Obladi" or "Maxwell" there was a Hey Jude or Helter Skelter. Also, as undeniably great as ATMP is, don't forget JL/POB. I feel that it was John's strongest statement and the best album of all time. While George was telling you he can't wait to meet God, John was telling you there is no God. Lyrically none of the Beatles could touch John. It took years for us to hear such personal lyrics again, in the works of Kurt Cobain.
@@ongogablogian8568 Music is subjective and my subjective opinion is that McCartney’s solo career is as I stated. I’m not a fan of Ram or Band on the Run or III as albums. I think I’ve liked a handful of his solo tracks. Wings to me was not good at all. A lot of his songs have good things in them but they don’t deliver for me. The song Band on the Run has like 30 or so seconds where I can hear a good segment and the rest is unlistenable for me. It is what it is. And yes, Plastic Ono Band is amazing. So is Imagine. Hell my favorite Lennon solo song is Mind Games. I do like most tracks on the NYC album for what they are. Harrison had so many high quality songs on ATMP. So many. I go to it frequently still. As far as post Revolver McCartney, yes, he had a lot of good songs but most were corny and cheesy in my opinion and I have called them that quite often too. The older I get the more I cringe at the sappy nature of so many that I skip them while listening to albums. To each their own.
@@cactaceousAs I said, McCartney is frustrating. But when he does it right, the results are spectacular. I will tell you truthfully I feel The White Album and Sgt. Pepper are a couple of the most overrated albums in history. I understand their significance, but cannot listen to them all the way through. I have the vinyl but only play the CDs so I can edit all the crap out and admittedly Macca is the biggest offender. As far as John and George's solo careers, Lennon lost his edge after Imagine. As bad as his Yoko inspired sound collage albums (I think NYC was dreadful too) they still pushed the envelope. Starting with Mind Games the wheels started coming off. When he decided to become a house husband I thought it was a good thing. I I hate Double Fantasy too. If not for interference, it could have been a good LP. I feel Imagine was his last good album, it has balls. Harrison was collecting songs that L & M and probably George Martin thought were superfluous. Yes, ATMP is great, idk how they were rejected as Beatle songs. The problem is, after Material World George's career was also spotty at best.
@@cactaceousLet me clarify, when I said Mind Games I'm talking about the LP. The song is great as well as a few others from the album, but overall it's not a strong effort.
El "Colo" O'Brien no solo conduce, guiona capítulos de Los Simpson y aparece en el show, sino que te hace un cover de los Beatles en un homenaje a George Harrison. Claramente es el pináculo de la evolución

so they believe the falsetto vocals at the end are "too late, to let go". meanwhile I've spent 50 years hearing them as "s'too loud, turn that down" any other variations heard similar or otherwise ?
You can see why Harrison had had enough. This absolute belter of a tune with its technically challenging solo, Macca (actually interested in contributing to a Harrisong) and Starr playing out of their skin...... Only for it to be a b side to the flimsy Lennon and McCartney trifle, The Ballad Of John and Yoko.
Look at Conan!!! Y'all think his guitar was really plugged in? 😂 I'm kidding, Conan is cool....and he handled this song well. One of my favorite George songs, although I had to become an adult to learn what the real lyrics were.
Conan is a great talk show host, funny comedian, and a surprisingly awesome singer/guitarist, but most of all, he seems like a solid dude.
Seems to be! I never knew.
This is proof that if the Beatles played their songs live after 1966...it would be something incredibly great!! This is killing me, it's so good!!🎉🎼🎶✌
Look up The Analogues. Best homage band ever..
George himself was the first who did not want to play live. He was the loudest voice with John seconding it, for them to stop playing concerts.
@@cactaceous I knew. That's why I'm sorry about that. What potential in songs. George simply lost the feel for live concerts. same as John. Look at Paul or the Stones. Band have to perform a lot..

By 1969, George was the best songwriter in the Beatles.
He had shortened the gap for sure, no way he was the best.

I know George sometimes took issue with Paul's bass lines but the bass line Paul created for this song, is one of his best.
