Chris Jenkins is really a top notch tenor, one of my favorites out there currently. Cant say enough how good this lineup is. Whats crazy about Chris Jenkins is that he hits these super high notes that Jay was hitting back in Gold Citys prime..... annnd he has the energy that adds to the group. Best line up they could have right now
I really enjoyed Chris with the Kingsmen! I'm so glad he is with Gold City now. GC holds a special place in my heart. They were the first music CD I ever bought as a teenager.
Wow Gold City hasn’t sounded this good in years! Jeff has made all the difference. The only bass that can fill Tim’s shows the way they need to be filled.
Never heard of your dad Jeff before, but he seem's to be doing an AMAZING job of filling in for Chris! Perhaps he should fill in permanently with Gold City.
God Blass You Jeff Chapman great Bass Singer. One of the two bass singers that inspire me the most to do God's work with care! Thank you for everything! Your Brazilian fan! God blesses ❤❤❤
I hope this line up stays intact, more than most groups Gold City's sound is determined by its bookends, this is the best bass tenor combo since Riley and Parrak
I just helped open in Lebanon VA for Gold City. Wow! Talent oozing everywhere, but nobody can sing like your dad. He was also nice enough to take pictures with the gentleman i helped that night. Hes awesome on every point.
Jeff Chapman is a awesome bass singer one of the best going today he blends so great with gold city be cool if he joined them since Chris West has left
Jeff definitely has the "rip" factor when he sings! Plus, like Chris West, he's another Tim Riley protege, and I believe he learned from London Parris and Leroy Abernathy as well. Glad to have him aboard!
Jeff is my favorite bass and I love see him singing. Only one thing that raise questions about his moving to Gold City: "I would not leave a stable quartet like Kingdom Heirs to go to a quartet that changes singers so much like Gold City. I have seeing they changing basses, tenors and lead several times in a short time. This makes me wonder that there is some issue going on. This is like a bad company where emploees don't last long. I may be wrong but this is what it looks like.
it was a god lead decision for dad and plus from family and friends but most importantly it came down to God telling him. God told him to take the Gold City Position and im in full support and for gold city…yes they have had changes but that it’s self is called business. Changes happen, again it’s called business. but thank you commenting that, i appreciate it. The Kingdom Heirs also have full support from dad, they are like family.
Yeah! I'd almost be willing to bet, that no one saw that one coming! Brother Jeff Chapman has been with the Kingdom Heirs since 2002, but apparently, him leaving the Kingdom Heirs has just happened recently. Brother Chris Jenkins has been with Gold City for awhile now, but these two, being in Gold City now, are what this group has needed for years! Sorry to have to say this, but the Tenor Singer, that went from Gold City, over to the Kingsmen Quartet, is one of the worst Tenor Singers, as it refers to being able to hit the high notes, that I've heard in my life! I'm really not meaning to be mean to the guy, but it is what it is. Listen to the Kingsmen Quartet doing the song "Meet me at the Table", from back just a few months ago, and you'll see what I mean. Anyway:I wonder, if Ray Dean Reese is kickin' himself, for letting Chris Jenkins leave The Kingsmen... again! We'll take this one day at a time, and see what happens.....
@Ronald Shank I am blessed that the genre still exists in this odd, wicked generation. Blessed by my Savior Jesus. Thank GOD we can still hear the message of Jesus in song. All the rest is as the KINGSMEN sing, " If It's thy Will, I Will. " Stay blessed. ✝️
.....and, sure enough, your wish has been granted! I was so glad to see him go to Gold City. Looks like the Kingdom Heirs, though, have begun to fall apart, little by little. Jerry A. Martin left in 2021, or so, then, last year, they lost one of the absolute top Lead Singers that any Gospel Group could've ever had, Arthur Rice. Now, Jeff Chapman has left The Kingdom Heirs. What's going on?!? Even The Kingdom Heirs newest Tenor, Mr. Ellison, has left The Kingdom Heirs! That seemingly tells me something:I'm certainly not sure what's going on, but think about it:Two Tenor Singers, a Lead Singer, and now, their long-time Bass Singer: GONE! Is this going to mark the end of The Kingdom Heirs? We'll see....
@@seanchapman3959I personally think that your Father is one of the best Bass Singers that I've heard, in a long time! Some of my favorite Bass Singers, past and present, are Brother Jeff Chapman, Brother Michael T. Holcomb (That used to sing Bass for the Inspirations), Brother James "Big Chief" Weatherington (That used to sing Bass for the Statesmen Quartet), Brother Tim Riley (The former Bass Singer for Gold City), Brother Ken Turner (Who used to sing Bass with The Blackwood Brothers, and other groups), Brother Nick Val (Who used to sing Bass with The Plainsmen Quartet), and Brother Troy Evans (Who used to sing Bass for the Gospel Group known as Accapella). I could go on and on...but I'll stop there. Your Father is in, I believe, good hands with Gold City. I very much enjoyed hearing him sing Bass with The Kingdom Heirs, and also with The Anchormen, back in the 1990s. Him doing the song "Marvelous Grace" always blessed my soul. God bless you and yours, and have a great night! I won't finish with the words "Happy Easter". Instead, I'll finish with this:Happy Resurrection Day! Jesus has risen! Glory to his Name!!!
Magical! I will say this: I saw Gold City in Terre Haute, Indiana, not that long ago, and something definitely seemed off- kilter with Chris. He was late to the stage, and something seemed off between him and Danny. I'm not speculating anything here, but I know what I sensed. Discernment is powerful.
Agreed. I haven't seen Gold City in person for awhile, but the last number of months Chris was with them, he did just seem "off" in the videos that I'd watch online. Like he was going through the motions. Definitely something was going on behind the scenes that affected his on stage performance 😢
@@darrellschrock5547 I agree. It is sad to have to watch these groups re-tool. And they just got tenor Chris not that long ago. I always worry they are going to call it quits.
Well that definitely explains everything. I also noticed something was wrong with him on stage. God bless him during this time. And welcome to the family Jeff Chapman
I disagree with you Mark, Jonathan was great but Bruce has this powerful lead voice that's necessary with Chris and Jeff because they will outright out sing a weaker lead. Bruce is the Man
@@Mark-sj3xb I'm not saying Jonathan is a weaker link, that is an injustice, what I meant is Jonathan has lost some of that power, believe me Jonathan was great. Apologies
@@brentbigby3366 they all get older and loose some of their power but Bruce is now at his top, not trying to argue with you, if we really get technical Ivan Parker would be tops, as would Brian Free, anyway you slice it right now Gold City is the Best all around.
Awsome hire, Jeff is the best bass singer in gospel music today ( my opinion) . What an awsome lineup sounds a lot like the 90’s group.
Absolutely
Incredible lineup! Welcome back Gold City!
Your dad is a PERFECT addition to Gold City! Congrats!

Great move hiring Chris and Jeff
Now THIS is more like it!!! Brother Jeff Chapman, and Brother Chris Jenkins, make this group sound 100% better!!!
Great additions with Chris and Jeff!
I've known Jeff since his Anchorman days. I miss him!
Great job Gold City. Congratulations Jeff Chapman
Never heard of your dad Jeff before, but he seem's to be doing an AMAZING job of filling in for Chris!
Perhaps he should fill in permanently with Gold City.
He’s got a pretty sweet gig with the Kingdom Heirs, but agreed, Jeff’s talent and sound is a perfect fit with Gold City.
Only if the Lord leads in that direction. Would hate to see Jeff leave Kingdom Heirs.

I agree - this lineup can do anything!

You’re getting your wish today
Best lineup in a long time!!
My thoughts exactly! This is the best that they've sounded in YEARS!!!
God bless you on your new walk Sir Jeff Chapman
Please keep the recordings coming, Gold City Qt is back, Yes Sir.
I'll say this, the right Chris is still in the house...Love Jeff...Gold City is AWESOME
This is EASILY the best, that Gold City has sounded in a long time, that's for sure!
They’re merging. The Golden Heirs. Keep it under your hat!
Or the Kings Gold Heirs. LOL 🤣
Boy, do I miss the good old Kings Gold days! I still have a copy on VHS! 📼
Jeff is an old long gone friend, I saw him in his Anchomen days.
Magee, Mississippi - I was there. So, glad they hired Jeff.
This is an all-star line up!

Bruce-It's just good that he's back. Always enjoyed him with GC.
And I reckon that tenor guy is 'ok' too...ha! Sheesh!!!

WOW!!!! Always thought this would be awesome and yes it was.
Your dad ROCKS AND RUMBLES!
the collab we didn't know we needed 🔥
Two coups! GC heading to own gospel music like days of old!

he left the group. that’s all i know.
