Y'all have the worst luck with electronics. Hopefully this doesn't take as long to get your laptop fixed this time or to get a new one. Hope all else is going well for ya. Y'all put out some of the funiest vids of my collection of sailing channels here on UA-cam. The Broni Hikes are the best. I find that getting lost is the best way to explore. You end up finding so much more than if you followed a map. Some times getting directions form a local helps to fine those spots only they know about.Keep up the good work and keep getting lost. Fair winds and following seas.

I feel your laptop issues.... The guest cabin window fell out of my Lagoon, mid passage, last week. Of course my laptop was on the bed in that cabin. It got splashed with salt water and has not worked since. I just arrived in Colombia and there a few places that do MacBook repairs. I am remaining hopeful...
Believe it or not, that was our backup! We actually lost Brioni’s laptop a few months ago and had been running on just mine with the intention to replace hers when this happened! Such a bummer.
Hi guys. Try opening the back of the laptop check the terminals on the hard drive I had a problem like this and mine was full of dust and I checked the plugs inside. give it a clean with your air hose. It could have had a knock and the main drive has loosened off. I hope this helps.

some others mentioned it below but it would be wise to probably have 2 laptops and just plan to replace the oldest one every 2-3 years. So you'll still get 4-6 years from every laptop. That's pretty normal in the corporate world because the opportunity cost of NOT having a means to edit will far outweigh the cost of having 2 laptops.
Funny enough, that is how we usually operate but Brioni’s laptop died a while back and we haven’t had the opportunity to replace it in time. So two dead at the same time was the safety net failing before we had a chance to add the net below that one if you get what I mean. The biggest issue for us, we don’t earn enough to replace two laptops all that often.

I believe you have an iPad, you could try to use it to edit the videos for now, Danvici Resolve is available on the iPad and other similar apps. You could also use the iPad as an external monitor but the main issue is how to get to that point since you cannot see anything at the screen... When you connected the TV as external monitor, was it showing the same gray/blurry thing? If so that's probably sign of a bad GPU... Is that an intel or Apple Silicon laptop?
The iPad is a fun idea. Unfortunately our iPad is pretty ancient these days and we don’t have any way to pull the footage off our cameras onto it for editing. We will come up with something I’m sure. The hdmi was totally dead output. It appears nothing wants to get out of this laptop so I’m pretty sure the gpu has given up. Not fun when you see how Apple build their logic boards these days.
@@RedSeas It's unfortunate that the HDMI is dead, using the iPad as monitor is still an option, you may need to do some blind typing to get it to activate and switch it to the main screen. I can try and help on this if you are interested as a temp workaround until you see how to proceed. Also don't underestimate the iPads as handling/editing videos, you may need to switch to a simpler app than Resolve but they are quite capable.
FYI, I tried it on my mac and it works, I can make my iPad as the main screen, if you want to go that path all we'll need to figure out it will be the keypresses need it to make this blindly.... 😁

Not stupid at all. We do that sometimes for our patreons and refer to them as patreon postcards. They are quite a different style of video and kind of limit us to what we can show. This episode would have been over 7 hours long if we hadn’t edited out all the slower moments of us just getting lost…well, most of them at least 😂
