Ok.. I just realised now.. that all eternals are powerful even though they have different speciality.. like thena .. even though she's not as fast as makkari but, damn that kick was fast asf...
As much as I forget about this movie and its characters just because the character building and writing is so overcrowded and “meh”, the action and the writing of the action sequences are very good and Marvel has fallen off so hard compared to this. Even early on in this prolonged fight scene it’s very clear that Icarus is outmatched. He doesn’t lose because of some plot contrivance or stupid decision, he’s just outnumbered. The other Eternals can all hold their own against him even if he’s the strongest; and they’re all together so they can basically fight by him to a standstill working as a team. Given time to fight and not worrying about stopping the Celestial, they would have defeated him, even if they lost a couple of their people in the fight. And that’s not even considering the speedster, who is a serious threat to him on her own. She could realistically probably beat him in a fight solo if she could take her “time” (not much time considering her speed) without worrying about the end of the world and protecting her team from his attacks. Speedsters are literally the most overpowered individuals in comic book movies and yet they’re almost never shown to live up to even a fraction of that potential. The formula has always been “make the speedster a wise-cracking joke character that swoops in for combos but never actually solo’s a villain because they would win too easily and it would be boring.” Speedsters are a cheat code that are just hard to adapt onto the screen without completely breaking the tension and entertainment value of a fight. Imagine if the Avengers had a speedster in Infinity War or Endgame. It would break the movie because the speedster could snatch an infinity stone or two and then run off and throw it far away before it even had time to destroy them, before Thanos had time to blink. Even the most threatening villains are nothing compared to super speed. That’s why the only villains that really work for them are other speedsters.
This was one of the best movies. The cast was so diverse and they have their first deaf superhero….which was so awesome. Makkari and Sersi are my favorites.

And the most ironic and redundant thing about this MCU project is that they changed the racial ethnicity of a group of superbeans that was already very racially diverse. Which goes to show why it should be written in paper that you cannot change the racial ethnicity, gender and most sacred of all sexual orientation of characters when you are doing them in a media adaptation
