- mrtrailer.com/..., Shocker Hitch is a draw bar (bumper) hitch and gooseneck coupler with an air bag and bushings to improve the truck and trailer ride and prevent jerking and bouncing at the connection. Reduces the stress of towing trailers. air bag hitch suspension, trailer coupler air ride, mrtruck accessory review, shocker hitch ball mount towing system #Trailering
Just got mine today. I can’t wait to tow my boat with it
Good, I sell them too
if only the anderson sway control and this hitch would have a baby that would be a awesome hitch
They do have an option that you can use sway control on airbag hitches or it might be a torsion hitch. I don’t remember which one exactly I think a trailer.com has them. But there is an option it is the old school with the chain that you lift up the Cupler on the trailer side.
I bought one to use with my c class rv to save the rear frame.before I even used it on rv I invested in a toad. T😮😮ook all the weight off the rv.
I did use the hitch on my truck and it was great. my ram 2500 didn't feel my car trailer behind me
Good
Love your review, and all the angles you in have, including the audio, if you don't like the audio ... maybe just turn THE SPEAKERS down and stop complaining GEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Thanks
thats all I did no big deal
All this talk about chains and apparently I’m. The only one cringing because there’s no safety pin in the ball latch.
You should always cris cross your chains! never put them straight like that.
You cris cross them so if your trailer does ever come off the hitch ball, then the neck can be cradled on the chains.
frost381 You're right, we generally do.
We did cross the chains and there are two chains hooked up
is there a failsafe if the bag gets damaged? Have any of you used this with a BO Swaypro?
I like the idea of the Gooseneck but I don't like the idea that you don't ship to other States like Australia, lol .
a distributor has that market locked up
Try and ship to Alaska. Lol. I can can get items from like Zimbabwe but not Washington. Um hello.
Would be a lot quieter if you didnt have that chain hanging down at 4:12
How does this hitch compare to the air-hitch and the geny- hitch. Which is the best for long trips.
Geny hitch is higher capacity.
Do they basically do the same thing. I need one for my race bikes and gear and in nz our roads R nuts. I've looked for a distributor of any of these and cannot find one so may be an opportunity as a side part to what we do at work??
Really don't need audio when towing omg. Can you tow 12k trailers with this thing?
Yes
I have a hitch with sway control for my trailer. I was worried about the ride quality. It judders and bangs alot plus the anti sway.
I can't get rid of my sway control. I just bought it and my trailer. Any other remedies?
What hitch do you have
The audio on this video is atrocious. I get what you were trying to do but the execution didn’t come out very well. These are phenomenal hitches tho
Should I get this shocker hitch or the Gen Y Hitch. Shock Hitch is much cheaper??
If you need to adjust often for the changing trailer loads, Shocker is easier to review. I sell them both
@@MrTruckTV which hitch brings the trailer tongue in closer to the truck hitch. Seems to me pushing the trailer back away from the truck would increase the leverage the trailer has on the truck and increase sway and bounce. Maybe that's imagination ?
@@bombardiertraxter For cushion hitches, they are similar.
Forgive me is someone asked this already, but what's the quality of material with the air bag? Is it likely to pop? Secondly, what are the inner components of the airbag? I pull a heavy boat and don't want to spend 400+ on a hitch if the salt and water will eventually corrode it out.
Same materials as on semi-trucks air bags. Don't know about salt water
The airbags are off-the-shelf items. Email the company, I'm sure that they sell the replacement airbag. It also has a grease point on the lower pivot. Should do just fine for you.
@@MrTruckTV YOU WILL NEVER REGRET BUYING
@@paulanderson5310 Thanks
I was looking at one of these recently for sale like brand new but slightly used from somebody and they want $550 and I guess it's over $700 new what is a good price for one that is used it doesn't look like there's a lot of where to really look at and it doesn't look barely used with this make a big difference I haul heavy are trailers with skid loaders
I fail to see how it controls sway from left to right ??
I wouldn't think it would, just forward and back, and take shock out from harsh roads
@@briandhoward6137 I did more research and yes, you are correct about the forward & backward motions.
Have you tried the weigh safe weight distribution hitch? I'm trying to decide between these two??? Tow truck is a 2017 ram rebel. Want to tow 11,000lbs.
Yes, I did a video
@@MrTruckTV I'll search through your videos. Is there one you prefered over the other?
@@mrchrisknight315 Shocker isn't really a wdh though. The Weigh-Safe is the heaviest WDH out there. You need a couple guys to mount it.
@@MrTruckTV I thought I seen a weight distribution set up with the shocker elsewhere?
The weigh safe, I had no idea that it was that heavy. I have a 20x8 tiny home that would weigh about 10,000-11,000 lbs loaded. But mostly I tow a 17x7 3nclosed trailer that would be about 7500 lbs. Never towed the tiny home yet, but tow the enclosed trailer with a basic hitch, just figured I'd better find some thing for the day I do want to tow the tiny home.
@@mrchrisknight315 For 11k trailer I like Equalizer. I sell Andersen and Equalizer. Shocker has a couple of useless sliding anti-sway bars are almost for sway but don't work well but definitely are not WDH.
How do I choose Shocker Hitch vs GenY?
If you can't buy them both, do you haul dramatically different weights of trailers? If you do, it's Shocker as you can add more air to bag
Yes sir. I haul between 8k to 16k... So the shocker is your preference?
@@devinmiler7420 Yes so you can adjust to the wide range of weights
I too am comparing the Gen-Y and this hitch. I have a typical weight distribution hitch for my 30' travel trailer with dual sway bars. Sway control is fine, but now that I have it setup on a 3/4 ton Silverado, the Michigan highways and the dips about throw me through the roof. I'm looking for something to soften the dips and pot holes. I'm only towning about 10k lbs. Do they make one of these with sway control?
Saftey first! Chains are not crossed!
Yes, safety first. We do most of the time
Yes they are, watch again
Why in the world would you not have incorporated sway brake attachments? Would have been a simple cheap thing to do ? Where is this hitch made? Please do not say China!
they have options for this.. see their site
Every rich American has their products made in China 🇨🇳 ask trump.
Nope. Made in North Dakota
all that for what?? just use a Treg hitch quiet as ..takes the shock out with the poly block cost a lot less than that ?? with a million parts to go wrong or break
www.mrtrailer.com/cody.htm
Matt Lewis - If you're still interested there's a link below to the Treg hitch. It's a simple poly block system and doesn't compare to the ShockerHitch.
www.tregtrailers.com.au/poly-block-couplings/
Exactly correct, Treg over this unit any day. And especially the gooseneck model! They only focus on ride smoothness and don't mention raising the height. Tighten ALL points-of-contact, remove ALL "slop" in truck & trailer and you should have a safe, tight, smooth ride. Since I went to a gooseneck hitch, the direct coupling gives all the smoothness and handling you would want. AND I still have $800 in my pocket !!!!
Just looked and the Treg hitch on their website. Unfortunately the Treg only has small capacity. The shocker hitch has 8 ton models for bumper pull and even higher for gooseneck
How much?
$379 for the bumper pull

Next time just mute it when you’re doing the towing shots it is crazy painful and ears nobody needs to hear all of that road noise just muted and voiceover or do something.
Yes that one was loud and 9 years ago
🤦🥴🥴🥴
