Feel kinda bad for the dismounted crew and troops. Against a tank with nothing I can do, I'm straight up surrendering (at least if it's a reputable nation that does take prisoners).
Good question! In short, it is a mode to use when our turret suffers malfunction or stabilization loss. We took a hit a few times, which knocked out our stabilization, so switching to that mode allow us to traverse the turret.
In Normal mode, the gun follows the head mirror of the gunner's primary sight. When the range to target changes, the gun rises or lowers to the required superelevation over the line of sight while the sight simply stays on target. If the stabilization fails, you switch to Emergency mode. Here, the gun and turret are controlled directly by the gunner's control handle, and the primary sight follows the turret and gun movement. If the range to target changes now, the sight is moved in the opposite direction, so bringing it back up on target applies the needed new superelevation to the gun, and you can still hit. However, as the sight is no longer stabilized, this is best done from a short firing halt.
This is was more of a familiarization of the tank video rather than a full-on company or platoon attack on an objective. I've also done videos where we have used a bit of tactics: Combined Arms Movement to Contact: ua-cam.com/video/1BSFqMAWFDU/v-deo.html Recapturing an airfield: ua-cam.com/video/xP6qsfT4nLk/v-deo.html
You can go to esimgames.com to find it. In terms of payment there are a few options that may be confusing, so let me try my best to break it down: First Option: One Time Payment The one time payment is $115 USD. It comes with a USB Code meter for licenses. If there's a major update, which is not very often, you'll have to pay for the upgrade, which shouldn't be too much. Second Option: Timely Subscription There's monthly ($10), 4 months ($29.50), and 12 months ($49.50). You get the full game if you choose to do a timely subscription. I highly recommend doing the monthly one first ($10) to see if you enjoy it. There is a learning curve to it, since it is a sim game but the tutorials in game are sufficient. You can start with either the Leopard 2 or the M1 Abrams. If you're in my discord, you can always ask us, we got a few players who know a lot of Steel Beasts. I hope this helps!

I remember a story from I think the Gulf War where an Abrams gunner fired a sabot through an Iraqi instead of firing the coax.
I’m a tanker in the army and I’ve been trying to find games like this I’m glad you post these videos man!

Where did you get that fantastic Abrams skin? I wish Steel Beasts had the ability to choose specific units and add their bumper numbers.
RIP commander. Dying in last second is so unlucky.
Great stuff man, I’m learning a lot from your vids. Maybe I’ll even pick up a version of steel beasts
No he sent the sabot through a guy 💀
what's the "Emergency mode" do/mean?

Would be cool to see actual IRL assault tactics, pushing across a airfield like that is kinda weird tbh

Done it before irl, its not as weird as it sounds 😅
