Thanks for calling out Bo’s comment.. that was such an odd take. Like of course if you stuff it to the point where it STAYS OPEN, stuff might fall out…
My stuff has been back in it for a while so you can expect something of the sort in the near future ;) Spoiler alert: It's still amazing, ha. Couple of nitpicks but overall it's great and even better in some ways than was mentioned on the video.
I think the Apex does the office just fine and also does everything else just fine. I think as a dedicated office bag the epic laptop compartment in the Transit Workpack edges it out for me.
Seriously on the fence right now. I’ve been hunting for an EDC for a while. I wear a suit to work and spend time on the weekends, hanging with friends or the occasional kids sporting event. Which way would you direct someone between the Tom Binh Synik 22 and the Apex? I’m not hard on my bags and honestly won’t even be traveling with whatever I buy very much. I have a couple larger travel bags/bag systems I’ve recently procured, so again, looking for that EDC. I guess I can add that I’m also into pouches, Bellroy pencil case, Evergoods CAP2L (still awaiting delivery), MW Tech Kit, so I have options. Tom Binh Synik 22 vs. Bellroy Apex. Hit me with the knowledge.
So for me, the biggest issue with the Synik would be it wouldn't be able to do anything BUT edc for you. It's definitely a lot "tighter" than the Apex. The Apex can handle like a 5-7 day packing cube plus my camera and dopp kit whereas I'm lucky to get a t-shirt in the Synik with my camera and a couple of other edc things. I think the Synapse 25 would be a better comparison for the Apex in terms of usability. That said, if money isn't super important in the decision I'd go Apex. It will be just as at home at your son's soccer game or the office meeting on Monday. I've worn mine everywhere for a week and my wife calls it a chameleon of a bag. Wherever we go it seems to fit in.
Excellent video! I have been eyeing this bag for awhile, but have a gender-ish related question. For being Bellroy's 'signature' creation I'm a bit disappointed to see it just seems to be aimed at, or appeal to, the guys. Has your wife tried this out at all? I know everything is technically unisex, but it would be great to get a girly opinion on it - size, too burly, whatever....I certainly wouldn't NOT get it because its marketed towards men, but seeing as they've only made the one version, it seems disappointing they're not marketing it a bit more generally.....any thoughts?
Hi there, Definitely have only seen men wearing it in the promo stuff, so completely get where you're coming from. My wife and I joked that she could wear the bags in videos sometimes to show how they look on her frame but being 8.5 months pregnant she said she wants to wait until the little one comes ;) She likes the Apex a lot and took it on a trip shortly after this video of her own volition (literally came in the room and stole it off of the post). That was the first time she'd done that and I reckon that says a lot. The one thing she mentioned that struck me as being something I'd never thought of is she said the sternum strap was genius because of the way it works it can ride about the chest without being annoying and she dug that. She is quite petite and the bag didn't look out of place on her shoulders at all. I tend to think it would be too large for her for daily carry but then I guess that depends on what she was carrying. If you have anything specific you'd like to ask her let me know and I'll do a bit of relay ;) Best, Jt
@@jtinseoul7041 Thanks for such a thoughtful reply, very much appreciated! I'm pretty tall, so it sounds like it might be ok. AND, I've just found a site where its 20% off (even though its £450 UK, so still £360 but a discount is a discount!) I might just get it and just send it back if it doesn't suit. I believe you get what you pay for and your review is pretty compelling! Thanks again for the perspective. :-)
Gulp! So I did it, I ordered it. Your review cinched it for me. Even though on sale I still feel a bit sheepish for spending so much on a bag. But it really is worth it isn't it?? Haha.
@@brennanyznik9477 haha, will be fineeeeee! I mentioned it to my wife and she said you won't be disappointed. If you have any questions about the bag later feel free to let me know. What I can say is since making the video it's started to break in and even show a nice patina :)
Why do Bellroy bags not have luggage pass-through? Such a simple thing to implement, and basically an essential feature when traveling.
Thanks for the first look. It has been on my wish list for awhile!

Please do an updated review of this, I’d love to hear your thoughts
Anything in particular you're curious about? It's going to be in another video next week ;)
@@jtinseoul7041 I’d just love to see a real review on this bag and if it’s held up to your expectations from this video :)

Best bag you will ever own #facts
Could I ask for the height of this bag when its on the lowest rung please.
Does the material pass the cat fur test?
Great video dude, thanks for sharing. this bag feel to me like a tour in a really good design school.
Certainly a good way to describe it.
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching ;)
Great overview. Which would you choose for an office backpack, Bellroy Transit Workpack or the Bellroy Apex? Appreciate all the insight

Love the attention to details put by Bellroy. The name describes the backpack so well. Premium :)
Definitely. Apex about sums it up.
Cheapest Nomatics bags are way better then this morning one.
They look like diaper bags.
Great video. You definitely should review the black ember TKS, I’d be interested in your take.
I'm doing a round up of pouches/bum bags as soon as the Evergoods MHP shows up. The TKS will be in that video for sure ;)
