    the dealer told me where it was. it does make a difference. acceleration gets faster. it also drains the fuel faster.

    Maxima's is outrageously different. Makes it incredibly responsive. Surprised the hell out of me.

      @@petrolectric basically, the lower gear kinda acts like an engine brake, it helps when going down a long decline so you don't wear out your brakes.

      @@petrolectric you might want to take a look at your own reply then smart ass, I know that it’s a cvt, aka a beefed up golfcart transmission, but the principle is the same, just replace the word gear with ratio.

    All it does is turn off overdrive. Nissan changed it to be the “sport mode” instead of just saying O/D Off like their other cars. It rev the engine higher and simulate shifts differently.

    Works great going over the rockies. Wasnt expecting a race car when I bought it. Car works exactly how its supposed to and great economy for the power it does have.

    I bought a 2023 Nissan Altima SR Premium Sedan. SR. The same button is just behind the shifter. Mine works great . I do feel a difference. No its not a turbo. However. It gives a little extra boost on the highway . Close to a turbo mode if you will. My last car did have a turbo. I do miss it. Hit the dam button and floor it. Lol😂😂. Its all good. Ok didnt know it was there either. Lol. I do now. Press it and go like hell. Mine works. 😮

    Thats because it’s not a engine sport mode it’s just a option to shift at a higher rpm which is super lame

    It does make a difference. It holds the rpm higher, uts mire responsive and allows you to use the paddle shifters.

    Sport mode helps with the shifting and keeps you In high rpm when slowing down so you can accelerate any time

      💯 exactly alot people dont get the concept of down shifts and more air to fuel ratios hence why it burns more gas in “sport mode”

    It actually holds the car at 3k rpm when driving and it he throttle is more responsive and handling gets stiffer

      @@petrolectric I love the car and recommend it to anyone. I've never had a brand new car. I've always driven out old farm trucks 😂 f350, my husband suggested this car and it real is great. I'm not sure how the paddle shifters work so I just don't touch them hahahaha

    When you go into sport mode, the driver should be able to "shift" gears or tell the car when to shift. There's no way to shift

    I have a 2019 Nissan Sentra. The sport mode button is tiny and on my gear shift. It does nothing, other then burn up alot of gas.

    All it does in the rogues is hold the rpms for a second or 2 longer before the step down

    I rented a car on my most recent trip to visit friends in Arizona and the Altima was what I got. I didn’t even know a sports driving mode was ever a thing on these. Now I wish I could have known that to experience it first hand. Maybe it’s weak and a poor excuse for a sports mode? My actual car is a 2009 Lexus IS250. Not the fastest car either but when sports mode is activated it’s a zippy car. Paddle shifters are cool too.

    Normal drive doesnt let you go pass 3k rpm.... Sport lets you redline.

    I feel the difference in my 2024 nissan altima sr, I take off on Drive, than I press the bottom, that's when I feel that the vehicle pulls away faster.

    My last car a Kia had a sport mode so when I asked the car salesman does the 2024 Nissan SV have a sport mode and he said no, I later was watching car reviews and found out it really does have a sport mode

    There's nothing wrong with the sport mode. Do you know what it does? It downshifts for you when braking hard and holds the fake ratios much longer like a regular sport mode. Just because you didn't take the time to see what it does doesn't mean it does nothing lol. You can also use it to help you slow down I can make a whole video on it...

      It’s very unnecessary in this car and makes little difference. I just found it interesting that almost every other car advertises sport mode and this one is hidden with an unmarked button and just a tiny “S” display in the dash when activated.

      ​@@petrolectric just because you didn't drive the car hard enough to notice a difference doesn't mean it doesn't do anything. It does. I mean it doesn't change suspension or steering but it definitely changes what the transmission drives if you double click the sport mode while flooring it at the same time when you initial put your foot on the pedal the car will downshift much more sharply and give you the quicker revs you need but you wouldn't know that.

      @@TYRAJR when driving normally the rpms are only slightly higher on the hwy so during hilly driving its easier to maintain speed. I use it to help me slow down when going downhill or powering out of a corner for better response. It works. I use it all the time so no its not useless.

      @@petrolectric solved the problem. Took off the auto shifter and this white plastic piece that covered the prongs was off and the prongs were bent out. It’s all good now!

      It’s a rental base model so I didn’t even think there would be a sport mode… but every other car is basically highlighting sport mode haha, just found it interesting that’s it is a super discreet non labeled button

    Do this model support CarPlay?

      All trims do except the base model "S". Instead of Apple CarPlay, the base model has something called Siri Eyes Free, which can do everything that CarPlay can do (using voice commands) except put your phone on the screen. So, basically the only difference is that when navigating, you have to use your phone as the navigation screen, but you still have the siri voice telling you when to turn through the car speakers.

      The car is definitely not slow. If you’ve driven a base corolla, Sentra or other compact sedan those are slow. The 2.5 Altima is actually decently fast and if you are a regular person not used to driving bmws or Porsches you should have no problem at all with the power.
