To keep silent for two whole FAT YEARS with a character who's been with us from the start as one of the most anticipated non-playables at the time is insane and Patrick owned every.single.segment of Scaramouche and Wanderer. That's massive skill, passion and talent.

Watching this as a VOD and the discussion about Patrick pretending that he IS the character to get the best out of himself is so fascinating. Man. Voice actors are so cool.
While not in the industry and still just doing it as a hobby I’ve been taking classes for past half year and literally almost every teacher I’ve had has given the same exact advice of just really trying to be the character! It’s definitely helpful, a lot of the time you end up overthinking and you just need to let all your thoughts go and really ‘Chanel’ the character your playing and just speak from the heart!

That is the true meaning of method acting. Not being the character all the time, but for the lines or scenes try to put yourself in the characters shoes.

patrick’s completely right on feeling emo with scara’s lines! his entire character is so moving and the voice-acting helps create so much of the emotion. i haven’t even experienced 1% of the grief scara has, but man did it hurt hearing his past self in the interlude quest and his teaser

He does have a lot of voicelines in the character profile, just not a lot of lines in the quests

He has a lot of new lines in the Sumeru Questline, but compared to other characters it is still not that much. But mabe later in the game😁
I mean, slowly but surely he is getting more lines. I hope hoyoverse will make him voice all his lines in the future

You have no idea how much I love Scaramouche's EN voice. I've been in love since his first appearance in the Unreconciled Stars event, back when I didn't even like Scaramouche himself.
You know when you have favorite VAs that are hired mostly to do their iconic voice even though they are capable of wider ranges? That's how I feel about Patrick Pedraza and Laura Bailey. I hope he shows up in more shows and games because I love his voice sooo much. It's so soothing. He doesn't even need to act, just hearing him speak makes me feel happy. I'm just grateful I ever get to know his works through Genshin.

31:25 despite me not being an actress, I 100% understand what Patrick means by “pretend you are that character” I use the same method when singing or story boarding an animatic, it helps you understand what you’re trying to put out and how to express it with real emotions. That “anything but the gnosis” moment gives me chills no matter how many times I’ve heard it, he embodied the character to perfection. It’s truly admiring to see how both him and Zach started their acting/voice-acting journey!

@@GOODDOK99 Also known as "Method Acting" for short. It's so weird hearing them explain this concept in layman's terms like it's a mind-blowing concept as someone who learned it back in my high school acting program. XD Just so strange to hear in such a different context.
