As much as I like the BIONICLE movies, I have to say the best thing that has aged about them is most definitely the music. It's really cool how BIONICLE has had so many genres of music tied to it in various media outlets and yet all of them feel right, from techno beats to rock songs to your amazing scores.
The Legend Reborn kinda screwed it up. Except when they're approaching Tesara in the Thornatus. That one worked. The rest of its score didn't come close to anything else, ESPECIALLY Nathan Furst.
HarryBillyBobGeorge TLR did utilize a larger variety of motifs, some of which were really amazing to listen to. I'd say it's about equal to Nathan's work in terms of quality.
Thank you all for the kind words. I'm glad you all enjoy it. Of course I still care about Bionicle. It's really the first full score I ever composed in an autonomous way, when I was 23 years old. Most of the score will not be released, for several reasons. However, I was able to find something from MOL I'll post later today. ;)
You know that bionicle ended? Well it's back! Just go to lego.com/bionicle or just go to a local toy store and buy the new sets or just to see them (if they're out in your country) I already bought 2 of them
I've aspired to be a filmmaker all my life, and Bionicle was a central driving force behind it. If I ever make it big, you're at the top of my list of people I want scoring my films.
I understand that most of the score can't be released, but there is the posibility of the ending credits music from Legends of Metru Nui could be? Is the most gorgeus piece of all series because ir reunites the best of the score.
I remember watching mask of light for the first time, and on the opening credits was your name. I started freaking out because my own name is Nathan. :) Thanks so much for your wonderful work on the bionicle trilogy, this music will stick with me for my entire life.
Tahu reached out. After a moment, Kiina handed the mask to him. He cradled it in his hands, remembering all the victories and defeats, the arguments, and the moments of revelation. He recalled the times it seemed there was nowhere to go next, no way to solve a mystery - and how things would suddenly fall together and the way became clear. He thought about the Matoran villagers, whose curiosity could sometimes drive him to distraction … but whose love for Mata Nui and for justice and peace could never be questioned. It was the Matoran who lived to hear the tales of the past, and it was they who would keep those tales alive in the future. True, there were dangers on this world, both known - Skrall, Skakdi, and more - and unknown. But as they always had before, somehow they would find a way to overcome. “Come, my friends,” he said, at last. “It is time to go.”
its so wonderful that people remember the music, even more wonderful is that the COMPOSER of the flipin MOVIE remembered the score, and wanted to play it!
Oh, man, the memories! Having come into Bionicle at a much later date, I'm sad to say that I didn't grow up listening to this while watching the movies, but in the years since I first heard your work in the Bionicle movies, I can honestly say that these have to be some of my favorite tracks of all time, and I absolutely love listening to them. This music truly helped define the old Bionicle... and for that, I must say thank you.
Wonderful stuff! It's nice to see that you still care about Bionicle a little, even after a decade. Your music really made the Bionicle movies special. I implore you to at some point at least consider releasing the complete scores to the three Bionicle films either through UA-cam, SoundCloud, or even as lossless FLAC files. Being able to listen to the score in its entirety would simply make my - and many other fans' - day! I plan to watch Need for Speed sometime just because you scored the film.
listening to this while reflecting on G2. bionicle is gone. again... but i am glad to have been here to experience it and i have a tremendous amount of respect for all people involved. now it is time for us to move on. but i can't. i never will...
HI, Nathan, thank you so much for your music for BIonicle films, this is really important for me. Bionicle is part of my childhood, not only because I liked to play with them, but because of story, morale, atmosphere. You made a huge influence on these direction and that's what made Bionicle universe so special for me. Thank you so much!
I have to say, the music from this series was the one thing that remained consistently great throughout the run of Bionicle. The story, characters, and sets all fluctuated in quality over time, but the music was always great. Whether it was your own beautiful scores from the movies, the badass songs from the commercials, or even the killer soundtrack from the otherwise-mediocre PS2 game, this is the one part of the series that _never_ let me down. Thank you, Nathan, for helping to create my childhood.
Bionicle toy lines are over, for certain, but you can't get rid of the impact it had on all of us. As long as we keep enjoying the books, the comics, the music and the movies it gave us, Bionicle will be so much more then a toy series. It will be a legend.
This is beautiful! I absolutely loved the original BIONICLE movie trilogy, and I believe that your incredible soundtrack was one of the best parts about it. It was one of the factors that made the movies stand out from typical direct-to-DVD movies, and one of the reasons the movies remain great to this day! It's always a pleasure hearing your music, and I am very glad to see that you still care about BIONICLE like all of us fans do as well. :)
I remember getting the first film the day it came out. I can't believe that was over a decade ago. This music has many happy memories attached to it, so thank you.
I've got this track on my ipod, it's beautiful. I got goosebumps watching this video, your compositions are just incredibly moving. Like the folks below have made very clean, you really made the music of Bionicle something incredibly special and memorable. Thanks for sharing your nostalgic moment with the rest of us, we appreciate it :)
This soundtrack is so beautiful, and it's just surprising how a direct to dvd film got a soundtrack like this. The score sounds like something you would here in a major movie. Great job Nathan, you did amazing :D
Watching this video whilst knowing the heart that went into the music, combined with thought of prior nostalgia and appreciation for all the Bionicle has done for my life can only = one thing... a smile on my face from ear to ear. Thank you Nathan Furst! :D
This is such a beautiful and fitting piece. Amazing things like this made BIONICLE stand out the way it did -- the franchise was not just "heroes" who do nothing but fight "bad guys", but complex, relatable characters that had to face hard moral choices and personal growth. Not just run-of-the-mill dull fighting. It had, above all, emotion, and your music did an incredible job to realize this. BIONICLE was and still is the defining story of my childhood, and I think I'm not alone in that. :-) I'm wondering, if it were not too much of a hassle for you, would it be possible to somehow get sheet music for this wonderful piece? I'm playing the piano myself and would love to be able to play such a defining melody of my childhood. Since you apparently can't release an OST, maybe this would be a possible way to spread your work to the hungry masses?
This just made my day and it's only 10am. Thank you so much for sharing this! I've always loved this soundtrack (I've been trying to learn it), and the fact that you still think about it really cheers me up! Amazing!
I marathoned the first three movies yesterday. I was near tears bu the time I finished Web of Shadows. This was my childhood, and now being 30 I find myself missing it so much. 😭
TBH the soundtrack you composed for the BIONICLE movies was way too good for them. I mean, when you think about it you composed a cinema-quality score for a direct to video movie based on a toyline marketed at ten-year olds. I can really respect someone who puts their absolute best into their work, regardless of what it went to. All of us that grew up on the BIONICLE movies can appreciate that. :)
+Eric Cunningham I feel like us first gen Bionicle fans are a dying cult. Bionicle was a HUGE part of my childhood and I still love it, I'm even currently reading the Legends books. I don't really care much for the new reboot Bionicles and wonder how many of us first gen fans are still around? Why is it that so many people our age are still fans of pokemon but barely anyone remembers the BIONICLE?
tbh, Bionicle went way harder than it needed to in all aspects. It's like if the Hasbro marketing team hired fuckin Tolkien to write Transformers G1. Just overkill. We're all better for it.
Hello, My name is Nathan too haha, I was wondering, when Bionicle came back and has a Netflix show, next time when Bionicle are planning with a movie or more episodes, will you make new songs? I love your work through the Bionicle music for the films. 😀

Omg it's callan hey I've subscribed to your channel when you like only had 3.456 subscribers and I made it 3.457
Thanks! :D
no prob!

Nathan Furst Sir, you are THE Legend in the eyes of so many people
I remember watching mask of light for the first time, and on the opening credits was your name. I started freaking out because my own name is Nathan. :) Thanks so much for your wonderful work on the bionicle trilogy, this music will stick with me for my entire life.
Oh, hi SuddenlyOranges!
Znamy się?
Hail Denmark SuddenlyOranges!
What a completely random but super cool thing for YT to randomly recommend. The Bionicle movie-tunes are just raw nostalgia and feel-good
I was shocked that they never asked you to come back for Bioncle the legend reborn.
Oh, the memories they're all coming back now. Thank you so much Furst. You truly are an incredible creator of sound. Bravo.
Thank you UA-cam recommend, you finally did your duty and found the light

“Come, my friends,” he said, at last. “It is time to go.”
This man deserves to be amongst the ranks of John Williams and Jeremy Soule. Such a shame he doesn't get as much recognition :(
Indeed.
its so wonderful that people remember the music, even more wonderful is that the COMPOSER of the flipin MOVIE remembered the score, and wanted to play it!
I...just..want to cry :'(
I did a little

Aw man, my favorite motif from the original score!
This is so fantastic, thank you Nathan Furst for your legendary contribution to Bionicle!
found this looking for an obscure transformer, great video
Dude. You were part of my childhood. That music. Can't even recount how many times I listened to it. Thank you so much.
The Bionicle soundtrack was on a level of John Williams.
You just sent chills down my spine, Mr. Furst, and nearly a tear from my eye. That was beautiful. ;)
Excuse me, I seem to be in a nostalgic shock.
listening to this while reflecting on G2.
bionicle is gone. again... but i am glad to have been here to experience it and i have a tremendous amount of respect for all people involved.
now it is time for us to move on.
but i can't. i never will...
That first song has always been a second theme for Bionicle to me, it's Bionicle's "The Force" theme.
One of the most memorable things about BIONICLE was the the music. Hearing the "Mask of Light" theme again after a few years brings a tear to my eye.

zillafire101 And who knows, new legends might await, but old lessons must be remembered. For this is the way of the Bionicle.
Sir, you made my childhood amazing...thanks
i know this video is almost 3 years old, but i just found it and it made me cry like a baby... so much nostalgia... thank you so much Mr. Furst
How have I not seen this until now
This is the song that reminds me of Matoro RIP
I think your work is highly underrated- your bionicle soundtrack deserves to be up there with the best of them
Nearly brought me to tears.
the themes were one of the main reasons I loved the movies
Reading all these comments and listening to the music made me really emotional. Thank you LEGO for giving us what our hearts needed to survive.
So much nostalgia! Amazing, sir. Amazing.
It's been 7 years since this music was played but I still listen to it with longing, longing greetings from Malaysian Boy..

“It began with the death of Turaga Lhikan,it was the darkest moment in Bionicle History.”-Toa Tamori.
It's wonderful to know you still think about the wonderful work you did on Bionicle. Thank you so much!
Thank you for releasing all the soundtracks, they are truly amazing
Watching this video whilst knowing the heart that went into the music, combined with thought of prior nostalgia and appreciation for all the Bionicle has done for my life can only = one thing... a smile on my face from ear to ear. Thank you Nathan Furst! :D
Oh God I'm crying ;__;
Watched these movies like a hundred times
I'm not crying my eyes just sweat............... the nostalgia!
Literally my favorite film score of all time
LEGO: it’s just a movie to sell action figures
Nathan Furst:
(TBH, hearing this made me almost tear up)
Bionicle was my childhood and your music was awesome especially at the end and at Lhikan's death scene. So thanks for the memories.
Such nostalgia has never been felt. :')
Great stuff. The music really made these films, especially your work for Legends of Metru Nui

Bringin me to tears over here man.
"May the Heart of Metru Nui live forever. For this is the Island of Mata Nui... named in honor of the Great Spirit." -Turaga Vakama
This music stole my heart as a kid. Still wish you'd give us an OST. Take my money!
Dude, this is so amazing, love your stuff so much!
This just made my day and it's only 10am. Thank you so much for sharing this! I've always loved this soundtrack (I've been trying to learn it), and the fact that you still think about it really cheers me up! Amazing!
Tom I miss you so much
I marathoned the first three movies yesterday. I was near tears bu the time I finished Web of Shadows. This was my childhood, and now being 30 I find myself missing it so much. 😭
You are great! All your soundtrack were epic!
It sounds more emotional and profound when played on the piano by the composer
If only lego wasn't so greedy.....
I find this to be on par with Jurassic Park.
oh... i... its so good, im crying, thank you!
Wow! what a great job! love that theme, and it is done so well... so much nostalgia! =D
Love the songs you wrote for bionicle! Hope you get another chance to do so again!
Beautiful.
This gave me chills
In the time... before time...
awesome work man!!
Oh the memories
I’m still waiting for the day a good piano tutorial for any of the Bionicle themes comes along. XD
Could you make us one, Nathan?
Pleeeease?
Thank you very much for this
Awesome!! Thanks Nathan Furst!! You are the best ;D

Ahh why is this not on iTunes! I love your music man!
Also when i saw you were on The Movies credits I freaked out. New subscriber
Untimely
*sees that this video was released* Oh, ok, I'll watch it later.
*watching it now, with tears* WHY, WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS
I'd love sheet music for this. So nice

My first lego movies. I Still love it.
This is so cool.

Praise Nata Nathan!!

*TAKUUUUAAAA!!!*

Makuta disliked this.
If I ever make it a series, would you please come back for the music, it would be an honor
They're working on a 3D rendition of the Mata Nui Online Game. Have you considered doing some compositions for that project?
Play as Matoran Takua or any other Matoran.
U are part of my childhood 🤍
Thank you very much for such nastolgicheskoe happiness! And Will lined tracks from LoMN?
I hope nidhiki and krekka find the person who disliked this video
Hello, My name is Nathan too haha, I was wondering, when Bionicle came back and has a Netflix show, next time when Bionicle are planning with a movie or more episodes, will you make new songs? I love your work through the Bionicle music for the films. 😀
That was beautiful. Do you think you'll get any of the new sets?
