First off, definitely wonderful vlog here you two are absolutely amazing! Second, I just want to let you know that the yellowish hotpot doesn’t seem to be the actual wild mushroom hotpot that is renown in Yunnan. Hi~ Greetings from Yunnan people, welcome to Yunnan, hope you can have a good time. In Yunnan, mushrooms were fried and stir-fried in the past, hot pot mushrooms have only become popular in recent years. Both have their own style and taste.😀
I'm glad you didn't miss out on Yunnan's wild mushroom delicacies. Regarding poisoning from eating toxic mushrooms, 99.9% of cases occur due to careless personal foraging and home cooking. While everyone knows wild mushrooms are delicious, not everyone has the proper cooking knowledge. In legitimate restaurants, they strictly follow cooking requirements, making it very safe, and poisoning incidents are very rare. Additionally, they sample and store each dish, so if any issue arises, the medical system can respond quickly and accurately.
I really envy you two, I am Chinese oversea in Canada most of my life and do not have the chance to taste the authentic Chinese food you two tried. Yes there are Chinese restaurants, they serve the kind of Chinese food similar to what you have in your home country. You need to have a party of four or more to order the amount of food you had, so you won’t let so much go wasted. The cost divided by four is actually quite reasonable, much less than we have to pay over here for that much food. Perhaps meet some expats and share the food when you go for more fancy restaurants other than the street food. Enjoy the rest of you tour in China.
I spent a year in China a couple of years ago during my studies. I enjoy watching your videos to remind myself of the atmosphere, people and the likes. Enjoy your travelling!
Spicy stir-fried mushroom and mushroom soup is the best, you see that a pot of gelatinous soup, with vegetables and fried eggs, especially the fried eggs adsorbed the fresh juice of the soup, oil and not greasy, while retaining the taste of edible mushrooms. 辣子炒菌菇和菌菇汤是最好的,你看那个一盆胶质状的汤,配上蔬菜和煎蛋,特别是煎蛋吸附了汤的鲜汁,油而不腻,同时保留了食用菌的鲜味。 You know, it's like meat but it's not meat, and that's the ultimate ingredient. 就是那种像肉又不是肉的感觉,这才是顶级的食材。When Yellen came to China, she ate the dish "Kung Pao Boletus luridus Schaeff." 耶伦来华的时候,吃的就是那盘“宫爆红见手青“,Imagine how expensive poisonous mushrooms can be made that so good. 想象下名贵的毒蘑菇也可以做那么好吃。

In most restaurants in China, it’s normal to pack up leftovers if you can’t finish your meal. However, in Yunnan, you must be careful. Some mushrooms are safe to eat after being cooked, but they can become toxic if left until the next day. Many people have been poisoned by eating leftover mushrooms the following day

U 2 r a lovely couple. 1 reminder for u, when using chopsticks during meals, u can always ask for a spoon so as to help balancing the food from the plate or bowl to yr mouth. This is common among Chinese especially having noodles coz it’s slippery.
Hot sour shredded potatoes, if you haven't eaten it yet, next time you meet, you can try it if you have the opportunity. It's delicious, as an ordinary dish.
I heard that you have arrived in Qingdao. I suggest you can complete after the trip to Qingdao to bohai bay another big city of dalian, If you like Qingdao then you will also like Dalian, which is quite similar to Qingdao in terms of architecture, climate, scenery, etc. You can then go north from Dalian into the vast Northeast China. Besides Yunnan, Northeast China is another place with cooler temperatures in summer. Among the big cities in Northeast China, Harbin has the coolest summer temperature, There are many small cities in Northeast China that are more suitable for summer escape, such as Heihe, Jiamusi, Yichun, Manzhouli, Arshan and so on.
In select places in China you can find mushroom restaurants. In Yunnan and Sichuan especially good. There is a good one in Chengdu near the archaeological site on the nearby food street. It has hundreds of mushrooms on the menu.
All kinds of wild mushrooms are local specialties in Yunnan, but you should be aware during the cooking process that these fungi are toxic if they are not cooked well, and some fungi may also have magical hallucinogenic effects. But don't worry about this. Local hospitals have rich experience with such patients, because local people will also be hospitalized during the annual mushroom season due to accidental eating.

The iFlytek translator is a good choice for traveling in China. The Time-Space Pot is also a good option.
wow! Incredible. Thank you so much for sharing ❤❤
Another exciting and interesting video. It is always my favourite to follow your adventures.
I will be going to Beijing soon... can you share your experience in bringing your devices to China? Drones, Camera and all those extra batteries... which is a concern for all travellers. TQ... cheers!!! 😊

8:50 Peppers come in all sizes & shapes-including round. Some look like small flat convoluted tomatoes. There are well over 5,000 varieties of peppers in the world.
Yes,round papers are not so spicy but have very good flavour~
why m i looking at you 2 eating such amazing food at 11pm in bed? now i m hungry and cannot sleep. 😂
Glad to see you both sitting down and enjoy your delicious food safe🎉🎉❤
U 2 r a lovely couple. 1 reminder for u, when using chopsticks during meals, u can always ask for a spoon so as to help balancing the food from the plate or bowl to yr mouth. This is common among Chinese especially having noodles coz it’s slippery.
Welcome to China Luke & Naomi ! You two are so entertaining, I really enjoy your videos. Please keep updating more, haha!
你們好幸福❤❤食物豐富🍠🍚🥘
The thing you don’t know is bamboo fungus, which is a bit like a net-like mushroom and is very delicious if cooked well.
Love naomi's reactions to new food 😂
❤cute naomi 😂
Love your starwar top!!
13:10 the thing looks like nut that Naomi try to eat is called tsaoko, use for cooking as spice, especially in the west southern China😌
LOL, I am from China and I really wanted to try that hot pot but not brave enough. I really enjoy watching your videos.
I am hungry. I miss China. I love your video.
It is great that you are trying everything with an open mind! Seeing your videos makes me think travel is not a bad thing at all😂.
😂我在大理吃过,点了一盘见手青有毒蘑菇,非常美味
