We unbox and review the Camp Chef Explorer and put it thru its paces. It preformed flawlessly and had no issues what so ever.

Thank you for posting this. I started looking for an alternative stove type thing to use my pressure canner on - I have a smooth top stove and the canner is a BEAST! Your review helped me make the decision to get this camp stove.
Nancy thank you. I’m so glad it helped
Excellent review - I ordered mine from Amazon UK this afternoon and I'm really looking forward to using it in the garden for frying fish and steaks ... without stinking and smoking up the house!
StonyRC you’re going to love it.
Thanks for the video! Just picked one up today at Dicks Sporting Goods and can't wait to try it!
Leo Cadiz it’s pretty awesome. We love it
Excellent video, I ordered my wind muff right away
That looks like an awesome cooker. I bet that's great for summer, and keeping the heat out of the trailer. You guys cook up some mean stuff out there.👍👊
Green Dream Project thanks guys, it really has made cooking easier here
Just awesome! I plan to buy 2 to start my funnel cake business.
Excellent review. I am shopping this specifically for canning.
We use it for canning a lot. It's great in the summer so you don't get heat buildup in the house
@@TerraFirmaX I have an All American 925 that has been sitting in the box for about 2 years. We remodeleded our kitchen with a glass top stove. I was concerned with whether our not our kitchen stove could handle canning.
Lots of good looking stuff. Nice review!
Thank you
Do you know if they can do a natural gas conversion? I checked this out today at Fleet Farm in Minnesota for $119. Nice video!
I don't turn my hose in the direction you do. I turn & aim it through the middle towards the rear of the stove & put my propane tank there too.
My grill doesn’t hold the grease when cooking a pound of bacon can you put a oil catcher on this model ( I bought one but can’t figure out how or where to put it)
Can I leave the regulator hose attached to the propane tank when not in use? of course both the regulator hose and propane tank will be turned off and the patio is covered.
I light mine with a welder's striker. Cheap and never fails
Put a elbo on the fitting and it will go back of stove
Camp chef has an aftermarket push button lighter you can order for around $8. The stove has predrilled holes already.
bryan craig awesome. I’ll check it out
Great vid I've been thinking about getting this exact one and I see a Kenworth in the background so your the perfect one to ask.i drive a International Pro Star .size wise of that box would I have any trouble getting it in passenger door and into the sleeper ? because where I live no one sells them.so it's just easier for me to get one out here on the road.
Duane Richardson it will absolutely fit thru the door and into the sleeper. But we got ours thru Amazon. Be safe out there
Very nice product.
What setting Hi/low do you have it on while cooking ?
shiftcon depends on what I’m cooking.
Hi 👋🏼. Out the box, can I hook this up to a small 16oz propane canister used for camping? Or do I need to buy an adaptor or something?
Out the box it's set up for the bigger tanks, you would need an adapter
You can also just buy an igniter for it, they’re around $5 a piece
Cabela's has these on sale for $80 right now.
Looks solid
Tom it is
Does anybody know the difference between the Explorer with individual wind guards around each burner or the Expedition that has the wind guard that surrounds the stove?
Did you try looking at their website?
www.campchef.com
So question.....when i lite my outdoor burner should i have those air dampers open? Why are they on the burner at all? Why are they even adjustable? When would i ever need to close them? Actually that’s a lot of questions. Can you tell I’m confused and probably just over thinking a useless feature.
LOL, It's okay. They are adjustable to combat higher of lower oxogen levels. you can open or close them until the flame turns blue, that's when it's performing at its peak. Hope this helps
i have a 2 burner stove. it isnt camp chef, its some piece of crap. but my stove is so loud. when the stove is on it sounds like a blow torch. is this stove loud?
I don't think it's overly loud. But I'm not home to check for awhile
Any issues with the leg screws? I hear they are plastic and break
Just noticed your comment, No, we have not had any problem with the leg screws. They ARE plastic, but we never take it apart so they are fine
Hey Warren! We were looking at this same unit. Any updates on how it's holding up? Thanks!
Still solid as a rock. We love that thing.
@@TerraFirmaX That's what I was hoping you'd say. Thanks Bud!
Just over 5 years now and still going strong
You can buy a matchless system for it.
Mine’s about 7 or 8 years old and the BTU output isn’t what it used to be. Do I possibly need a new regulator? Help please.
I would reach out to CampChef. They may be willing to help you out
The Arizona Homestead Project thanks I purchased a high output adjustable regulator in a pinch and lord it puts some fire out now!
@@dannykessel5107 Thank you for the update
Can we use a round bottom Chinese wok on the burners?
Eht Ostaf I would say no.
@@TerraFirmaX sure you can. I do. I have a ring that sits on the burner and the wok sets on it. Works great.
ditndunk thatsgood info,
Do you have any problem with the flame blowing out while canning?
not at all
@@TerraFirmaX this is great to hear. Thank you for your response!
Can it be used as a turkey 🦃 fryer? Will the 18 lb turkey deep fryer pot fit on the burner.
I don't see why not. I've heard of people doing that but I haven't.
I would take the legs off so it's lower to the ground if you are going to do that
@@TerraFirmaX 😆 yes sir… I agree with that.
You had me at bacon wrapped turkey! Cheers.
It's about that time again. We still use that Campchef on the regular
What different between blue flame and yellow flame ?
Blue flame is a hotter more efficient burn.
Nice review!! Can you remove the wind guard?
Yes
Thank you so much for the reply
Do you still have the unit? If so how has it held up?
How much burn time of a 20 # swap-able ?
Hmmm. good question. I haven't done a test on burn time. but I use a 40# and it last a long long time. Sorry I'm no help on this question
@@TerraFirmaX thnx just curious I am out in desert for long periods .
The last gas grill I had had the matchless lighter. It worked for a month and that was it. It wasn't a camp chef but just saying...why pay more.
I am freaking starving now!!!! Dang good video!
LOL, that's great to hear
Looks ok
They sale igniter kits for about $12 apiece
Sell*
@@aaronphillips9537 yes they do
Those small tanks aren't throw away u can fill them with a 20 lb tank with adapter
Where do you get one.
Walmart
@@mrsmith9964 cool what r they called
Just a propane tank adapter they have blue caps on it
Why not just stay in your house while you’re building your new house?
Because we were renting in Oklahoma. So now we live without debt on property we own. Our Landlord decided to sell his property so we really had no choice but to move. Finding a place that could accommodate a semi truck and trailer would be costly, plus commuting back and forth to the property. Also, we are able to save so much money this way.
Great Job Hun!!! When we make a video together it is sure a blast.
Teamwork makes the dream work!🙏
I really enjoy cooking on it
You said a quick unboxing, I don’t think you do anything quick
bacon!
Mitchell Cox always better with bacon.
awful lotta meat
yes, we love meat
