Over the years of playing I've gotten a bad habit of finger picking with my thumb and pointer finger only and in sync the fretting hand. The middle and ring finger picking I'm now practicing to be in sync. I've watched ppl finger picking. Some anchor the pinky on the sound board some don't like this video. Which on is best?
Hi Phillip, Thanks for your question It really depends on what style you are going for and what feels good for you. In this video we use all three fingers and thumb because that’s how Lindsey Buckingham plays it. Many of the great acoustic players anchor the baby finger - if you watch our lesson on Blackbird we go through this approach. I think the best is to try and learn to play with the same technique as the one used by the original artist, that’s what we offer in our lessons. In some cases it’s essential to the sound to use the same fingering as the original and in some cases it does not matter too much. Hope this helps! Good luck :)
Thanks bro great videos as usual your very good teacher cheers from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you 😊
