Good Day Jess just want to say thank you very much for creating a easy to follow tutorial im currently a newbie in procreate and exploring it through watching videos like this 😅 been watching your other videos as well! excited to follow and try your tutorials as well 😊 Again thank you and have a great day!😊
Easy and fun... love these tutorial. I have. A problem with some brushes an di think it starts with the original monoline . When I create the shape and apply it, when I try the brush it has a light shaded square around it. Off white. Shows like the background of the brush I created. How do I fix that, please? I’m trying changing several settings with no luck. Never happened before.thanks in advance .
Question. First of all, Thank you for sharing Jess. Although, when pasting my brush, everything is black, I can still see the shape of my brush, but just everything black. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks a lot for your video! A strange thing is happening when I use the bush I’ve just created! Everything is set like you and when I try my brush on the drawing pad nex to the brush settings, everything is fine, but when I go back on my canvas, all the leaves are facing down and don’t rotate as they are supposed to. Have you ever experienced that??? I restarted my IPAD and it still doesn’t work. Thanks for your help.
Hi! I'm glad you liked the video 🥰 Have you set the Rotation setting in the Shape menu to max (it should say 'Follow Stroke'). If that's not the problem I have a blog post linked in the description that should hopefully help!
I got the same problem, after checking the blog, I saw I was tuning on in the brush properties the option “orient to screen”, turned off and now, it’s working my brush!
Help please! I turn the rotation up in shape behavior to follow stroke and it looks great on the demo drawing pad, but when i go to use my brush on a new canvas, the pieces are all facing outward and not flowing.
Thanks so much for being so kind and considerate with your time by sharing this information school with us. I’ve had a hard time looking for tutorials online, and I found you and I’m so grateful because now I can just practice. I really want to make a 3-D brush, one that has actual shading and highlight in it, is this possible?
This means so much to me - THANK YOU! I'll be posting a lot of new brush tutorials soon and I've been experimenting with 3D brushes too so I'll try post a tutorial soon! :)
@@JessLynnCreates you’re so awesome 🥺 so excited for the tutorials !! 🤍 thanks so much for responding ! it’s so hard to find any tutorials. I just want to learn 😭 such a struggle to find anything anywhere.
I think it may be because the background color of your design is not completely white - you can check out my more detailed blog tutorial here: jesslynn.art/blogs/tutorials/how-to-create-a-wreath-brush-in-procreate
This video is awesome! Thank you so much. I do have one question though…. When I import my copied shape, it’s obviously so large it doesn’t show in the square. It’s only black or white and there is no way to downsize the image after importing it. I tried scaling down the shape before importing, but it doesn’t make a difference. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong? Thank you in advance! ❤️
I haven’t seen that issue before - but you could also try exporting the shape as a jpg and then importing that as your shape source. Maybe also try using a smaller size canvas if you’re still having issues. Hope that helps!
Oh no! You can maybe try using a smaller canvas. If that doesn’t work you can also try exporting your canvas as an image and then instead of using ‘Paste’ under Shape Source you can use ‘Import’ and select the image you saved. Hope that makes sense!
Two things I can think of: 1. Make sure you invert your branch image so that it's white on a black background (you can tap with 2 fingers to do this). 2. Double check you're pasting your image under Shape and not Grain. If that still doesn't fix it, I have a blog tutorial linked in the description that will hopefully help!
It might be that your canvas size is too big for your iPad? But you could also try exporting the shape as a jpg and then importing that as your shape source. Hope that helps!
Oh no! What part isn’t working? I also have an in- depth blog tutorial that might help and you can also download this brush for free on my website. The links for both are in the description
Hi Lisa! You can maybe check your Shape settings and see if you accidentally rotated it? I also have a blog post with screenshots that might also help: jesslynn.art/blogs/tutorials/how-to-create-a-wreath-brush-in-procreate
I see a lot of people have been issues with copying and pasting their image when editing the Shape Source. If you have this issue, first try resizing you Canvas to a smaller size (Actions -> Canvas -> Crop & Resize -> Turn on Resample Canvas and then choose a smaller size like 10” x 10”). If that doesn’t work you can also try exporting your leaf design as a JPG image and then Importing it as your Shape Source. If neither of these options work, please let me know so I can try help! I have a problem why my brush has square background from the time I paste my pattern to shape in Brush Studio?
