I, too, am shocked! I struggled so long trying to do this on my own, but your tutorial has opened up so much for me when creating new brushes. Wonderfully done, Sami…thanks so much!
This tutorial was super helpful for me, so I just wanted to leave a comment of thanks! I tried it out and the brush worked very well with giving my character a little box braid bob. Much appreciated 🙌🏽
Thank you for this tutorial! You saved me a lot of money from having to buy brushes.
Thank you so much for sharing! Helped so much its been a struggle searching for black procreate artist! Your amazing! 🥰
Girl ur brush tut videos are such a life saver. As much as I like getting pre-made brushes, I’ve always wished I could customize my own ESPECIALLY for braids and twists, etc. I took the twist brush I made using mono line and instead used the studio brush for that clean tapered end! 😄😄😄 it’s honestly perfect now 💛💛💛💛
This video is a year old but I just wanted to say THANK YOU! Your clear explanation, instructions, and visual guidance made this process a lot easier than I expected. Looking forward to using my new brush and experimenting with more! 🎉
I finally understand how this works! Creating brushes just seemed like magic that I would never understand. Thanks for breaking it down like you did, I’m super excited to give it a try! 😊
You are an Angel! I’m new to procreate and purchased it mainly to save trees while practicing modern calligraphy. Have tried (and failed terribly) to create brushes; BUT I now am the proud owner of a self-made braid brush thanks to you. Bless you for sharing your talent.

YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! I made my first brush ever! Ive always frowned at renderings of braids that just look like cheese puffs and pool noodles. And I love this video so much. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
It's not something I'm proud of but I suck at drawing any hair that's not straight.
So from the bottom of my heart, seriously, thank you. There have been so many characters I wanted to design or draw with more diverse hair but could never get right and this will be a huge help it's only braids but frankly this has helped just knowing how to make these chain like brushes so even beyond hair this is super helpful, thank you!!!

Best explanation!
You are so funny, I hope you always describe these drawing terms in your own vocabulary. Like not “scribble scrab” 😂😂😂 loved it
AHHH THAK YOU IVE BEEN LOOKIN FOR A TUT ON THIS!!
This is so helpful! Thank you!!!
I actually bought like 30$ fur brush pack for this project I’m working on and it acts weird like randomly stamping?? So I’m hoping that orient to screen button is my solution.
I love how you broke up the mass of braids with the beads. That stark contrast is beautiful. Looks amazing!
Yeah and if that doesn't do it play with those other settings, as long as you can put it back to where it was you can figure out the mechanics through some trial and error.
Screaming bc I was looking for tutorials for brushmaking in procreate specifically so I could make braid brushes. Thank you for this!
Thank you so FREAKING MUCH this helped me a lot
Awesome! I'm a newbie but would love this brush. purchasing may be the way for me to go. thanks for sharing!!

Thank you for this vid I want to support other creators and buy brush packs but I’m not in the place to do so yet so this has helped a lot I mess my first brush today and I’m proud!
Hey have you tried doing a dreadlock brush? I’d love that
I haven't tried yet! But I'll definitely look into it!
I was looking all over for how to get it to follow the stroke but it doesn’t actually say it in there till you max it out!? 😂😭❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much!!!
Woooow Sami!! This is cool, I always thought braids are hard! These look nice!!
Thank you!!
Thank you very much, so much easier to understand without all the technical language:)
I Have a Suggestion if you don't mind. My volume is all the way up and your voice is too low. You speak very well and explain well.
This is so cool❤
that was super genius ...
Absolutely amazing. 💯🤟🏾💛
Had to subscribe, you're the GOAT for this 😭🥺💙
Super helpful and easy! One issue I have though it may just be me- when I apply the brush the color dulls like the opacity of the color seems low although it’s all the way up. Do you know what the issue could be? Other than that it was super easy to understand and make
Edit: NEVERMIND- my canvas opacity was lowered 🥲😅 still great video
7 months later and my life has been saved once more.
Thank you for this tutorial!
Thanks so much for this :D
