Sorry Kein but you're wrong. He's more close to Zen Buddhism. "The secret" is more close to a fertile field of imagination wrote down to allow people to be more close to their spiritual comfort themselves, with all due respect to people that believe on it. Vai's way of thinking reminds Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, one of the most recent scientific recognized psychology theories considering others, that works on the structure and shape of one's dysfunctional thoughts that lead this person to it's dysfunctional way of living by resignificating them.

And this is something that people tend to lack in modern times, which is contextual analysis. What Vai is saying there goes way beyond where it comes from. If you can't see the forest from the trees, you don't have anyone to blame but yourself. You don't have to believe in any of that stuff to see it. And, ironically enough, what you're doing is pointed out several times in the interview by Vai. If everything you want to see in what's being said is the religious overtones it might have, then that's everything you'll see because of your apparent dislike of certain brands of religious thinking, despite it being much more than that.

Sounds like Steve is spiritually awakened! Seeing he also knows about manifesting principles like the Law of Attraction! 😀👍 And I believe he's right when he says the younger generations are quite open-minded to such information; It's the _older_ generations that from my own experiences can be quite stubborn and are stuck in old beliefs and old paradigms. And I definitely have been struggling myself a lot at times to let go of five decades of societal programming. But in any case: There's a new World coming, and the one as we've known it for a veeery long time is ending 🙂

And it's not easy to switch that chatter of the mind off or to at least ignore it either! 😏 I've been watching a whole bunch of these interviews over the past two days, and one recurring thing I've noticed is the advice to be in the Now, to be in the present moment; Which I agree with, too! • @zaio15_DarioMannu_DM-DrumCover
    @zaio15_DarioMannu_DM-DrumCover 5 років тому +6

I took time to put down what Steve said in this GOLDEN interview... just AMAZING!
"The most important thing is the way you feel, being in touch with the way you are resonating emotionally, but keep your focus on the now because that's where your whole life is unfolding and this is the only place you can ever be creative"
In any event they're all lies and they're not real and the moment you can see that as such then you can really start focusing on the task at hand which is to enjoy what you're doing right now you know, that's really owning now, only now so... really passion is the momentum of enthusiasm and you can't find the enthusiasm for anything if it's obscured by fear, it doesn't work, so if you can identify the things inside of your mind... this is the core it's all you, it's all how you perceive your, it's your perspective on your own carrer or own enjoyment really, your own mind so to speak, because if you can identify that your thoughts are projecting into a fearful future or an uncertain future or even an overpowering.. i'm gonna be famous, I am the best, I'm gonna do this and then I'm going to do that, sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't... The quality of what's going to happen to you is based on the quality of what you're doing right now in this moment. So to bring your attention out of all of that stuff and what comes naturally it comes on your radar at the right time.. if you're not caught up in the fear of it all. So how do you find the thing that you're passionate about, because there's things that we have fantasies about but a passion is something different.
When you're engaging in something that fells really natural to you well there's no fear in it there's no fear of failure is no concern with anything like that, there's just the simple enjoyment and the natural flow of your what feels like a unique type of creativity because it's important to know that everybody has a unique sense of creativity, this is just obvious beacause everybody's unique, but finding and expressing it can be a little tricky for some people if they're caught in their head about what they thnik they need to do beacuse conditioning we're all very heavily conditioned ... it's a compromising of your own personal freedom really and it never works
When somebody says something that is inspirational and it resonates with you then that's you'll know but it might be something for you but not for somebody else, so one way of doing that all bets are off, you need to find your own unique way of doing it and you are doing it.
Everything you told me about what you're creating came as a result of looking and measuring out your skills with what you think is needed and then when you have that aha moment, that moment is the seed of passion bacause what that aha moment has in it is one of the things that's of great value to look for and that's enthusiasm.
Everybody knows what the feeling of enthusiasm is and once you get that aha moment it's beacuse an inspiration arose in you, you know the difference between a fantasy and a real inspiration. A Fantasy has wishing in it, it has doubt, it has fear in a sense.
But when you give the whatever when get that aha moment none of that is there, it's just that's it, that's it and by the way that's it. It's a very clear knowing now well and it could be very very something very simple see the ego is gonna tell you well no this isn't gonna change the world how are you gonna make twenty million dollars...and then along with that comes the fear of failure and all that stuff..
Clean feeling of enthusiasm that has integrity in it, it's not a belief it's like a knowing.
A belief in something means you don't know. When you believe something what you're really saying is I believe this but I don't know right... but knowing can only be you know inside of you, it's different, there's a different quality to it
When you feel that feeling of enthusiasm and you line up with it along with it come the knowing of what to do in the moment not in ten years or in the next day, whatever
Really your only shpere of focus needs to be right here and now and the simple looking for a creative idea that gives that feeling of enthusiasm and then you hold on to it and if you can hold on to it because there's always gonna be right after that a rush of and it always starts with BUT, dubts comes in, but da da da da da da da, then do i do that...that's fine but they doeasn't need to be a problem, these are just parts of the steps along the way, these challenges they're necessary.
When you start viewing challenges as necessary opportunities for growth or for a pointer into another direction.
Whatever challenge comes up you know that it's there to help you find the solutions, how could you have a solution if you don't have a challenge, but people get caught in the challenges in their head and they hold on to the challenge as opposed to... okay this is a challenge what's the solution? The fear gets ahold of them and they don't make the shift into looking at the solution, it's a very easy shift you just have to tell yourself okay now I know what the problem is or the challenge or the obstacle. Within the obstacle is also the solution it's showing you the solution.
But if you caught in all that other mind stuff it doesn't work, so you don't have access, you get stuck and then the world sucks right and everybody is screwing you over, it's just in your head. But if that's your perspective then that's what you're gonna see that, that reality becomes your reality you create your own reality, what I'm saying is not unique, there's a lot of people that see this and understand. It becomes almost like you either think or you word yourself to failure. You do both, either you allow ideas to come up, you allow inspired ideas which can arise as thoughts or they can you'll see something that is of a cooperative component into the world, like you find a space, you're say what was it that what is it that would really like to do, what is it that would give me that sense of freedom, creativity, because I can tell you a lot of people then go to their mind with they say well once I have ten twenty million dollars in the bank, once everybody knows who I am and how great I am and once everybody once I have all the awards and I'm on all the magazine covers and everything then I could be happy you know, it just doesn't work that it does. It could make happy for a little while but it comes with its own challenges, it's not what success is really. It can be nice, but it is not that's the real truth of where it's at. If you happen to get there because that was your goal most of the time there's a rude awakening when you get there and you realize you're the same person you were before you and fame and fortune have a tendency to exaggerate your foibles
DOM FAMULARO: there are 3 types of people in the world there are the wave makers that the matter what happens is they get up and they make proactive they make the wave, then there were the wave riders they wait to see the wave made and if it's a good wave then they get on, then there's a whole another level of people that spend their entire life looking for the beach they're completely oblivious to what's happening.
When something exciting or an idea that I feel is fresh and unique when arises in me it's just a very natural oh that's what I want to do and it's very simple the things that I do to me are very simple and to everybody else when they find that uniquely creative outlet the everything is simple, it's fun.
What I was saying before is if you find that feeling of enthusiasm it will lead to the natural flow of your own unique creativity and then that become that grows that grows and it grows and then it becomes a passion.
For me I was always just lit up by a good idea I work within a very narrow field, a little field but it's fine because that's what I love, I don't know why you know karma whatever that's like I don't know maybe the lord of life said this is your role in life, you're gonna be a musician.
To the young musicians a vital thing, the one thing for me that was always paramount was the feeling of an idea that felt different or an idea that had that enthusiasm a minute now that could manifest in someone like myself within a riff, in a chord, a melody, but to me I would get these visions of compositions or pieces of music whether they great or not does no matter, they have to be exciting for me and they have to be exciting your have to be exciting for you that's the priority, that's a prime value in the creative process is that you're excited about it, it's so important.
THAT IS THE CORE, what of who we are as individuals bringing it through this language of music.
So be careful when the insecurities of others may weigh you down it's unnecessary to buy into it and there are enough challenges in the world that in the music industry that are gonna bring you obstacles don't gring obstacles yourself don't create your own obstacles.
The only obstacles there are the ones you create, the mind will tell you no no that guy won't let me... don't figure out another way to do it there's infinite ways to do.

Me, I'm a guitar player myself, he's not my favorite musician (it would be Eric Clapton, but I am not a blues player, rock instead), but, IMHO, no one ever in guitar history has more technique or knowledge of the instrument than himself and this I must - and I do - respect.
The thing about "He's the best", She's the best" it's a bit ridiculous... I believe it to be a personal choice after all, what inspires you, what makes you happy.
On the other hand, one must be able to recognize talent and respect it. Steve Vai is pure geniality, it is so nice to hear him, he shares a lot, always, he shows that he cares.
To grow in life we must be humble and trying to follow this path I did watch this interview, to learn form Steve Vai, and I did, more as a human being than music-wise, for my happy surprise.
This is a fantastic material for business training, for life training - fantastic.
    Superb! Wisdom, wisdom, wisdom...
    This interview was enlightening.
    Thanks Don, thanks Steve !

Definitely the best interview that I saw of Steve Vai. Steve is always amazing and revealing but this one counts with an interviewer who is clearly in the moment listening the interviewed,, interacting and also giving valious points of view. Great Job The Sessions Panel and Dom! You definitely made my day today, it just felt it like a chat of two friends, not just one guy doing normal questions but someone who was in and present.

This interview was meant for me, almost. And like a good sermon on Sunday - it feels like it is talking to specifically you.

Great, great man. So very few people at the top of their game are secure enough to discuss their emotions, good & bad, like S.Vai. This is the level of honesty required to succeed in life. Also, like all winners, he realises the waste of time that yesterday & tomorrow present as life is lived today.
