    Hey Reyes,
nice and interessting stuff. Am a German guy who is just starting to work himself into R10 videography.
Maybe you could help a starter: Got 3 newbee's questions:
1.) With an MF lens mounted, do I have to turn off AF on the Camera (for not to brake anything) or just leave it as it is?
2.) With an AF lens (like RF 50 1.8 STM). How would my autofocus setting be if I want to achieve a shallow depth of field like you show here. Let's say camara starts behing some flowers or tree branches which should remain really unsharp, lifting camera up to my model which the should then be sharp. Or model sharp and background softened like min 0:29. Do I completely turn off AF and pre-focus manually on my model before (What if model is walking/moving)? Or do I set AF on with people tracking?
3.) Wher do I turn off AF a) just at the lens, b) at the little switch on the front of the body or c) in the menu. Does this make a difference or better: Is there THE correct way.
Thanx for a starting point into cinematic videography...
    Doc from Germany

Hii. Well i have some answers ><
If you use manualfocus lens i think you can just switch the button on the front to manual focus.
I have a sigma lens, it's an autofocus lens and since i got the camera the button on the front is on AUTO all the time.
And when i want to do manual focus i just use the button on THE LENS only. No problem so far.
Almost all the time i use manual focus. It was on manual focus also at 0:29 because the subject is not moving so much.
Yeah if she would walk, you can use auto. But for me to be "as good as possible" I'm mastering manual focus. I work on handheld mostly and i can focus easily. (When i work with a gimbal I have to use AUTO focus, but the auto focus also can make mistakes.)
I think i answered your 3rd question too. The little switch is always on "ON" and i only toggle the button on the lens itself.
And to close this, i wish you good luck with this joruney and you know what you have to do? Only practice! :)

Hi. My favorite lens is my SIGMA 24-70mm 2.8. So versatile! I can get wide shots and tight, more compressed long shots. Like the ones in this video! :)
And my dream is to have a 70-200 in my kit. But that's a long way to get there! :D
The sigma 24-70 is not cheap though.
You have the 16-35. I think around from 50 to 100 or similar focal lenght would be good for you. To cover a lot of focal lenght.
But to buy something you should watch dozens of videos about this topic! :) To save money.

The canon R6 Cost too much but the R8 only cost 1300 or 1400

      @kellcoleStyleEnt yeah I know But I am talking about R7. It’s around 1400 too!
And Maybe “better” than R8. Depends what you want to shoot.
