If you come to Indonesia, you would know that there are tonssssss of better ones than Kenangan. Especially the local ones who can source high quality beans from plantations in Indonesia it's such a fine coffee drinking experience
I believe in your statement, but it's not about who has the best or better quality of the product, is it. It's about the scale. To have the giant scale as Kopi Kenangan and sustain it, they must put insane amount of works.
@@ironheart8374 definitely. But why better taste coffee brands don't get it.? It's really about something that appealing to larger mass. Just like any other products. Like musics, the most popular or most selling out albums are not necessariliy the best music out there. They are just, more appealing to broader mass of people
I went to Singapore last July and i saw queuing was quiet long at Kopi Kenangan. Is it only because of the cheap price ? I personally prefer Kopi Kenangan than any other coffee shop.
Kenangan itu kopi standar yg enak buat ukuran harga 18-19rb (USD 1,25). kalau mau lebih enak banyak, tapi ya ga selalu ada dimana2. Kopi kenangan itu ibarat kata indomie-nya gerai kopi.
I doubt how Kopi Kenangan's grab-and-go strat would fare in the Philippines. We already have a similar franchise here - Pickup Coffee - which sells drinks at less than 2.00 USD. People here don't really care if the coffee is made from beans from some remote mountain or it's just instant coffee with a dangerously high amount of sugar. Most Filipinos patronize Starbucks not for the coffee - it's for the status symbol and premium space that we can use to meet up with colleagues, family, and friends. Price does matter, but in the PH market, I don't think that is a profitable space for this brand to compete in.
It's already biggest in the SEA . Because indonesian population itself are 270 million. Ofc the revenue gonna be huge compared to other coffee shop in the region.
If you are care about both price & quality, Kopi Kenangan is much better than Starbucks. If the sellers offer better price and quality, I will choose it and I don't care if it's local or foreign
Nope. Have tried coffee latte at Kenangan once, several times at Dunkin from Massachusetts, Illy from Hungary but my taste is always at "Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf" from California and Zuss Coffee original Malaysia. I would like to try the Coffe latte at Tim Hortons from Canada.
"Kenangan" is a word. Its recognized word in Malayan civilizations like in Malaysia and Singapore. The people in Malaysia and Singapore already know to pronounce the world before this brand existed. So, the company get a nice traffic in brand recognition from using that word. Their brand also using romance niche, aiming at young customers market. The "Kenangan" which usually used in lovey dovey memories. Their product also use words like "mantan" which is ex-lover. Another one using "Kenangan terindah" which means most beautiful memories. and many others like that. They positioned their product to the right audience in Indonesia with large proportion of its population are from late millennial and early gen-z population range. I dont know how they gonna position themselves at marketing on other countries, but I wish them luck. I'm highly proud of them.
The kopi kenangan and J'co can be sold cheaper, because they dont need to pay franchise. And simultaneously the coffee's taste are better than bucks or other foreign franchises.👍😊
This coffee chain is good. Absolutely better than Starbucks! There are other options but "KopKen" (in short for Kopi Kenangan) has its taste characteristic. It's one of the pioneers in the industry. However, I prefer Point Coffee of Indomaret Convenience Store since it is more accessible, but a bit more pricey (starting at 25.000 IDR). For a cheaper option, I prefer Kopi Tuku because it's cheaper 😃 At a mid-level price point (above Point Coffee under Starbucks), Tomoro Coffee tastes better and has more flavor and topping options. What KopKen did better than its competitor is its way of building and maintaining its brand level. It's amazing how KopKen is still at the top of the minds of customers when there are so many competitors in this industry.
Kopi Kenangan stores don't look as crowded as when they just started. Many new competition now for cheaper coffee like Tomoro coffee, Fore coffee and Janji jiwa. It's a good Coffee brand but revenue numbers seems inflated...
I hope it's better than OldTown White Coffee. I get that Malaysians are proud of their homegrown products, and maybe I just didn't know what to order, but compared to a standard flat white in Australia I was very unimpressed.
Of course profit is already large, the shop is not own by them, but other business people, they just sell the Brand and the management to manage the coffe shop. So each shop already some one else business, this is why they can grow very fast. No one will enter such partnership if they dont have large profit in their first year operation

It might work 10 years ago but it won’t work now. I’m expecting things to unravel for this brand within 24 months
Won’t last long. Went to one of the outlets only to found out how bland it was compared to tens of other cafes mushrooming nearby with 1/3 less the price. Expanding simply because it has money is not the right way to go
I have tried so many coffees across many countries. And I must admit that Kopi Kenangan is the best coffee in the world.. the taste is just soooo good!!

Try Kenagan, similar to our own Malaysia Zus coffee but higher price. Still prefer Zus with more affordable prices.
Our Zus coffee is cheaper and taste better. Last time tried Kenangan I tasted burnt coffee instead
@corgansow6173 indeed. Pricing play factor here. Their may successful in theirnown yard. But not outside.
This brand can be the biggest in Indonesia, but the whole SEA? Good luck as every SEA countries has their own local and loved brands.

How are they gonna be "top of mind" after expanding outside Indonesia when their names is hard to pronounce?
I guess it's due to their unique name and marketing, such as their flagship menu 'kopi kenangan mantan' literally means 'memories-of-ex coffee'
