I have no problem with your 'stop sign' functions, Mark. It shows a method of problem solving with regards to your mills capacities, and I enjoy it. Keep up the amazing work! :)
That old oak reminds me of the posts that held up Grandpa's old horse barn those were big ugly but surprisingly solid logs that we hand split into firewood. They burned pretty hot, that's for sure. Looks like pretty good decking out of that.
Nice to have my senses massaged by your presence on this very warm day. Everything sounds like it should be. That is a massive chunk of wood that is not happy to be there. I hope your respective families are well and happy. With much respect, Bob😊😊😊😊
Eight o’clock at night that’s some beautiful grain in that oak log , spent another day rebuilding machines very satisfying job it’s amazing how may tools I’ve found I thought I’d lost while cleaning up , I’m getting a lot of help from the dogs mice keep running out witch seams to keep the dogs entertained and my amusement bit of a cartoon show at times ,anyway you guys have a nice day
I always find it interesting you load your logs to saw from the butt up. You load with the large end leading into the saw. On my hand set carriage I always did the opposite, I loaded the logs with the small end leading into the saw. That's just how my grandpa taught me though. It really doesn't matter, as long as the job gets done. I think we did it that way because it was faster to set the tapers on the knees without running the entire carriage past the sawyer. I don't think it matters either way once you get the log dogged, it saws the same way.
Hi Mark. Nice oak boards Mark. Cutting logs is like opening a box of chocolates. I ❤ the edger part of the sawmill videos. I saw your " old edger" working over last weekend Mark. Great job. Nice to see it running. Thanks Mark. Hi to Ed & ZZ for me. 🥰😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
"Big, Ignorant, Heavy" reminds me of Grandma calling me back inside from 'Woods Lingering' while cutting a switch. Where is the back half of ZZ's kilt? I like Eddie's elevated cam that watches flighty ZZ, we call it 'The RIFF RAFF-ter' cam.
This was a terrific log compared to the last one that produced all the potting soil. Question: how thick a board can the red edger trim? Is 2” it’s maximum? Wishing you and your team a great weekend. Peace Mark.
Dear richardwhite. I'm with you but just because I can't see details. Maybe a camera above the edger saw would make possible to see the ingoing and outgoing boards. And, of course, the totally unnecessary and distracting background music makes it worse. Especially when it's too loud and when it's a bad piece of music. I don't know why they add music, they don't do it when using the big sawmill. Best regards, luck and health in particular.
I agree, I would like to see closer up of the exit side, maybe even a peek inside at the sawblades, if possible…if no, just a camera-eye just outside that wooden wall, looking back at the exit
Dear @@PitViper329 Same here, definitely. Because of that I'm a long time subscriber and do a lot of positive comments and 👍 thumbs ups of course. But watching someone stuff raw boards into a big machine over and over and over again, is simply not interesting any longer. Especially if the setting of the cut and/or at least the end product can't be seen! Best regards, luck and health in particular.

I agree Even huge band mills have to 5 side a log sometimes Work with what you got. !

on 12 foot or longer logs I want the butt towards the saw for extra weight so the log don't tip on the live deck

Well.., nice lumber ! and Thank you !!
Nothing beats good morning wood, freshly edged. Smells like victory.
yes for sure.
When you say a log is ugly, I know instantly that the video will be interesting. Rather than ugly I would rather call them "logs with character".
yes very true.
Great job taming that log, Mark. I was busy yesterday so this wound up being a Friday morning video.
Bill
Beautiful grain.
yes it was very pretty.
Good video and music to end with. Cheers 🍻

Good job on that not as ugly as the prior log log.
A lot better as the last one, a lot of nice boards.
Mark I would like to see a video of how you use the edger to get the desired end product. Kind of a how it works video. Thanks sir.
It did give you some nice boards though.
it sure did.
😮 I I don't find the edger cam boring. It is a superbly choreographed sequence. Its nicer to see the fiished boards being stacked though
Looked like a bad one but turned out a good one. Happy Weekend and God Bless Yall!
Maybe, you could make a video sharpening that big saw blade.
I have many videos on sharpening , go back and look at my older videos.
Good video Bus Motor Productions
Thanks James.
Trailer decking should be White Oak. Any other is just good for more business
This was a terrific log compared to the last one that produced all the potting soil. Question: how thick a board can the red edger trim? Is 2” it’s maximum?
Wishing you and your team a great weekend. Peace Mark.
thank you , the edger will run 4" thick.
We run 14 inch blades on our gangsaw and they will cut 4 inch anything thicker and we run top and bottom arbor with 12 inch blades
Love to have one or two boards
Calm down guys, Little Donnie is perfect for the job 🥳
Always one more then trim

SHOUT OUT TO Eddie H. Keepin' the 52" SLICE-O-MATIC CLEAR !

VERY GOOD WORKS BRASIL
Hello from Denmark 🇺🇸🇩🇰😀👍
Hello Morten.
That log wasn't the best I ever seen but it made a pretty good yield of lumber.
yes it turned out ok.
Do you pick ugly logs on purpose ? However, you end up with good yield on most of them.
we didn't have many 12 foot logs to pick from.
Is the trailer decking for Diesel Creek?
Mr. Mark do you think you will ever get a kiln up and running ? May GOD bless.
The last forever, or just this week?😉
Just this week lol
We got a boom! A little boom maybe but a boom nonetheless.
That's a knarly looking "pin" oak

Shame to ruin a beautiful red oak butt log by throwing 4’ of trash on the end but I guess the owner
Of the log wanted 16’ stuff.
yes we needed 12'.
I thought you always have an ugly log contest?

So are they having any BBQ sauce sales around Pittsburgh after Saturday's staged shooting?
people died its not fun
@@peterhaynes9011 nobody said it was funny, but it was obviously a failed publicity stunt by the RepubliKKKlan party.
I don't know about your other subscribers but find the edging process kind of boring compared to the sawing of the logs themselves ?

For me the blade does all the magic! 🤩
