I'm currently replaying Final Fantasy IX on PS4, cause it's simply the best Final Fantasy ever made, and likely always will be. The soundtrack alone stands the test of time.
This is Rose of May, also known as Loss of Me or the Theme of Beatrix from Final Fantasy IX Piano Collections, composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged for piano by Shiro Hamaguchi. I amended the intro to be closer to what you hear in the original track.
This piano version is very special for me and probably the best one out of the whole FF Piano Collections. Out of all of the amazing character themes, Rose of May reflects Beatrix' predicament and inner doubts so well. The piano version enhances this even further. This is not only due to the original melody and the whole set-up of the piece, but predominantly due to the sophisticated use of harmonic progression Uematsu employs.

That's so cute. My wife and I danced to Eyes one me from ff8. Her isle song was "we used to talk every day" by .uzu. I love hearing people walking down the isle to much more meaningful and beautiful songs than the old generic one

rose of may is 1 of my favourite theme from final fantasy
it was 1st sung by Kate covington aka Erutan
and seriously her version of roses of may is the best she expressed Beatrix's feelings very nicely
I recommend you Erutan's version, which is the best Rose of may cover that will be ever be made!
Her version was one of the things that really got me into Final Fantasy music in the first place :)

In this version there is a subtle delay at around :52 seconds that adds some character, but I wonder if it was intentional.

I always see this type of piano with the lights. I assume it records/creates this visual as he plays. What is it? Is it a new learning tool? I haven't played piano actively in 20 years, so I have no idea.
Excellent. Very clean and pristine piano playing and sound. A lot of times, pros believe that playing orchestral type of cluttered and erratic piano is cool when in reality I consider it a very annoying and low quality approach to piano playing. If it doesn't sound sharp, is not good.
