- Leslie Grace and Melissa Barrera freak out over working alongside legends in ‘In the Heights,’ which is in theaters and on HBO Max now. Barrera praises Daphne Rubin-Vega, who plays salon owner Daniela, for being the first Latina she saw in a leading role in ‘Rent,’ which inspired Barrera to start acting. Grace echoes Barrera’s sentiments, and also gushes over Marc Anthony, who makes a cameo in the film as Sonny’s father.

Marc is terrific, met him many years at an Oscar de le Renta show I helped produce in Puerto Rico, he walked up to me and introduced him-he was very kind.

This movie was awesome! I never saw the play so I didn't know what to expect. I was blown away by all the talent in this film.

Well I saw the movie yesterday, loved every second of it, and all I can say is I completely fell in love with Vanessa (Melissa Barrera) and decided to marry her sooo congrats on gaining a new wife Melissa 🥳😂😂🥂💍

so sad that mainstream public did not give it a chance. But it will stay as one of the best reviewed movies of the year.
We need a sequel because the height was such a beautiful movies well written, and choreograph🥺❤️.

I wouldn't want a sequel... but maybe a spinoff that focuses on the things they cut from the broadway musical. Something that focuses on Benny and Nina. Or even Abuela Claudia.

This movie is great but unfortunately a lot of afrolatinos are very upset 😡 and very angry because they say that is no afrolatinos in the mainroles,that is stupid reason to be upset,l hear that are the afrolatino community are trying to boycott this movie and if that happens that would be suck...
they should just be happy. like finally a whole cast with only hispanics, thats rare. Everyone always has some sorta problem damn
It sucks because studios will easily point to a movie like In The Heights and say people are not interested in Latino cultures and people in movies. So the only roles Latinos get will be where there heritage will be completely ignored or white washed.

@L G She is not Afro Latino. Darkskinned Black Latinos are always being left out.
Just about every person born in the Caribbean has prominent African ancestry, so I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
@Kisha - being “dark-skinned” or darker skinned doesn’t make you Afro-Latin, ancestry does.
I will agree with you though and assert that I was displeased with the racial make up of the main cast. There were a lot of Black Latin extras, which was a slap in the face.

And which character would you have casted differently and who would the actor be? Because they need to be able to sing, dance, AND act. I have to agree with you. I’m a huge fan of musicals and I was very disappointed. I think it’s because it was so hyped up . Here’s hoping Dear Evan Hansen will live up to the hype
@@raindropsonroses3919 I definitely have to say: I enjoyed it. WAY too hyped up though!! I thought felt the end was rushed. I really liked paciencia y fe though. I thought 96,000 would be my favorite scene, but for some reason I was a tad bit disappointed with it. I hated all the effects in 96,000. They were so overused. That is probably why I was so disappointed with it. Also hoping Dear Evan Hansen is good.
