Just watched this video after my neighbor called in a panic with a trash panda hold up in their garage. Built to exact spec and it worked like a champ. Thanks for the great explanation. All materials sourced from Lowes. Only took about 10 mi. To build.
I built one almost identical to that's one. I just need to figure a way to lock the cable in place until I want to release it. I plan to check tour other video on this issue.
I am currently disabled following a reconstuctive foot surgery. I have a Vizsla/Beagle mix puppy i just adopted and besides chewing, he seems interested in chasing things like the Flirt Poles i use for my cats. Can you suggest a modification for making a long pole with maybe a ball or other toy attached that i can pull out maneuver around the yard to exercise and stimulate my boy's growth and development? Thank you 😊
I made one this weekend to catch a raccoon in the attic, but in the end, I didn't need it. Cost $44 in parts from Lowes now, not $9 as during the Trump era. Bidenomics at work. Vote smarter this year.
This is great cuz i have a snake in my sink drain and sometimes it left its head so imma set my pole there and imma pull it when the head is in the loop
I wouldnt use it on snakes at all. There are commercial snake grabbers for that specific purpose. Generally speaking, unless you are quite familiar with how to do it safely I do NOT recommend ever grabbing any type of wildlife
I apologize. I must have missed your question. The lock is simply a clothes line tensioner sold at most big box hardware stores. You can find them online as well. It simply only allows the cable to freely move one way.
I built this because of a raccoon problem, i caught a about 20 pound raccoon and it didnt hold it. Mabye its because raccoos can grab the cable and pull it off them but i wouldnt trust it with anything
Put something like a lawnmower pull handle on the end of your cable, then the cable won't slip through your hand and the only way a racoon could pull it off is if he has more arm strength than you. 😉

Thank you. That is a good money saver. I just saw opossums in my house, and I need to get rid of them.
I make mine similar but I put the male/female joint in the middle and make mine 2 piece. Makes it easy to carry in my pack basket.
Dame it was this easy all along. Now I'm glad nowhere local sold em haha I woulda way overpaid when I could just do this. thanks for sharing brotha.
Glad we could help!
I cant wait to try this out, thank you for making this!

I was thinking about actually getting one off of Amazon but now I'm going to just make my own way cheaper

Yeah, the other video addresses that particular problem. I solved that issue, LOL

Pretty much do the same thing but it works WAY better if you drill 2 holes in the cap and anchor it on one side. Doesn’t bind as much.
will give that a try on my next one. we have built a dozen of these trying out different things
Nice video!
Very informative. Have you ever used it for snakes? That's primarily what I want to make one for. Thanks.
I would think it would be difficult with snakes considering they may be able to slip out unless you hold on tight and it’s a non slip line idk.
great tips!

If people dont start voting smarter, these self reliance skills are gonna become a whole lot more important here soon!
Thanks

Good luck to you.
Great tool
Nice hounds
Thank you! We have a new one to introduce soon. We got a 1 yr old black and tan...excited to see how he does in the trees!
Would this work for snakes ?
no
By drilling 2 holes in the end cap and running the cable back in through the cap instead of the side, it should work for you.

Schedule 40 or 80 ?
I used sch 80
Was your cameraman drunk?
actually...yes...quite
I just made my own catch pole to nightnot like yours with selfy stick and old junk usb cable
Can this hold a black bear with a strong enough man at the helm?
Me personally...I wouldn't try it, LOL. I have used mine on coons, yotes, foxes and cats
What about the lock!

Have you ever seen anyone catch anything with one???
We use ours quite often. I have used it on coyotes and raccoons several times.

hmmm, sorry that hear that it didn't work for you. I use mine on coyotes and it holds them. Hate to hear you had an issue though.

Bad decribtion. Show from beginning how you do
I totally agree with you...
Is it still $12? lol
