    Due to a lot of people talking shit in the comments, I need to address 2 important things:
    1. I'm not clickbaiting or getting paid for you guys clicking the video. A lot of ignorant people think clicks get me money. They don't.
    2. I made this video to discuss the topics described by Jordan and relate them to modern examples like the Ball Family. I'm not hating on the Ball Family. I actually fucking love Lavar and what he is doing. I was merely showing the other view through a prominent player like Jordan.

      @airhawaii23 6 років тому +11

      T.Jay I think this is a great topic. Jordan didn't out right predict anything. I think he was talking more about the LeBron James generation of major shoe deals before ever even stepping on an nba court. But I see how this could have translated into someone like Lonzo Ball being so hyped up that now he must meet all these high expectations placed on him. Back in the day you had to get rookie of the year, make an all star team, and establish yourself as an elite player before getting major contracts like Michael Jordan did.

    This has nothing to do with the Ball family. They didn’t take any endorsements. They are working hard for what they got. Why are people trying to bring them down. No days off is there motto. They stay in the gym. They are not potentials. Man JEALOUSY is root of all EVIL.

      FingerDawg That’s your opinion and you are entitled to it. Many in America and into money just like Jordan and Donut the walking Chuck kids will. So for me to feel salty about young basketball players having it easy, somebody had to set that path it just happen to be Jordan and Company if it wasn’t them somebody else would have done it. There are many who take the hard path to earn what they got.

    I think a lot of people miss the point on this one even though Jordan isn't talking about the ball family directly it still applies to them the fact that a lot of this up and coming players don't really need to work hard to get paid or a shoe deal because basically it's given to them, now back in the days only the elite players get those type of deals but now if you have 1 breakout season u can reup for the deals that Jordan was getting and for the rest of your career you don't have to do shit, if you look at the ball family what have they done to earn a shoe deal? Nothing! Even tho it's Lavars doing Lonzo is an average player and his brothers are overseas but there commodities and Lavar knows it, only elite players deserve max deals and endorsements if your shit work hard to get said treatment

  • @ek274

    most people don't even realize that Michael Jordan was vastly underpaid (salary wise) compared to other stars throughout most of his career. He got the big bucks ($30+ mill a year) in his last 2 seasons with the bulls. Quote from MJ in 1988 after signing his new 8-year $25 mil contract "I think it makes me work harder and earn what I'm getting paid" GOAT

Showing that his statement was “accurate” to a extent

  • @MGE-Gibs

    Ball family is hard work! I see what he means but bad comparison because Lavar trains his kids to win at all costs. Not to just enter the league and get fame from media but to actually play the game and win every basketball game they play and I like that about them, doesn’t matter if lonzo scores 50 if they didn’t win it doesn’t mean shit to them.

      yohanes eistein listen to the interview it’s very short they are talking about endorsements. They stated players are getting endorsements from corporate America without even proving they can play and besides that Lavar has nothing to do with the money Lonzo is getting paid. He’s on a rookie contract getting paid the amount a second overall draft player suppose to get paid which is about 6 plus million a year. Ben Simmons is getting pretty much the same about 6 plus over 3 years

      Nathan Casey ball is playing alright let’s not over exaggerate like he’s the best rookie he started looking like a bust just bc he’s coming around doesn’t mean shit bc he’s the 2nd pick and is clearly not playing like it there’s a number of rookies who were selected after him that are playing way better so with that being said there earning more than he has and if I may ask what has he earned?!?? A state championship in his last year of high school and he also didn’t win ncaa title ok and he’s supposed to be this million dollar talent alright he hasn’t earned it yet Jordan did tho is what he’s saying when he got to the league there’s a number of players who got endorsements and other things given to them before they entered the league and when it all came down to it the player wasn’t as good as expected so Jordan is speaking on potential Lonzo hasn’t shown he’s going to be worth a billion or a HOF one day Jordan did the moment he was rookie

    • @gerald.watson5450
      @gerald.watson5450 6 років тому

      El Tigre that has nothing to do with the fact that KAJ potentially could’ve been a bust coming out of college.. there’s a possibility that KAJ could’ve flopped after all that he did before he got to the nba but after proving how he could dominate in the nba like he did in hs and college he got what he earned your thinking about after all his accomplishments in the nba he was given what he earned which that part is fucked up but coming straight out of college is widely different

      Jordan in 100% correct why do you think all these old timers are still running sport. Mayweather, lebron, Brady, Federer to name a few. We are getting soft real quick.

      DARNELL STOKES Le’Bron has been working on his craft since a kid, and was MR Ohio he put the work in
      But Jordan was cut from his Team in high school, I think he has a point for the ones that didn’t have the easiest route but had to really put the work in to get to the Top.
      Russell Wilson’s, Nick Foles, Cardell Jones

    I'm all for players getting paid right away. Why do people always complain about what players make, but no one complains about the owners, TV companies, cable companies, advertisers, reporters etc who make billions off of these players?

    This has very little to do with a basketball family or even hardly connected to the Ball family. Hes just saying how now we pay rookies off potential, which i can VERY vaguely connect it to the Ball family, if not, every rookie coming into the league lol

    The reason corporate America goes to these young kids before they do anything is because nobody wants to miss out on the “next” Michael Jordan or Lebron. It’s worth it for them to spend millions on busts for that one guy who will generate multi-billions. I’m sure Mr. Jordan knows this, even though he clearly does not like where the business has gone.
